Description

The Void’s arrival marked the end for the Empyrean Clan.

Tens of millennia passed since that cataclysmic day. Despite the world being twisted into the plaything of the Dark, some managed to endure under its unending onslaught. That once-mighty force of Heart Practitioners now existed only in domed cities, protected by the workings of the Pillars.

Few slept without a light on in the age of Void’s Reign, and Xerion was no different. And yet, where the majority chose to hide from or accept coexistence with that wickedest of essences, the boy wanted to leave, to find a land filled with azure skies and verdant grasses.

The darkness didn’t devour the entirety of creation. He knew it didn’t, felt that truth echo deep inside his soul. And so he spent his life planning and preparing, waiting for the moment his journey to power and to freedom would begin. That time finally came, the Initiation ritual the last obstacle barring him from pursuing greatness.

He wasn’t too worried about it. After all, how hard could it be to survive getting stabbed in the heart?

What to Expect:-> Weak to strong,-> In-depth cultivation system,-> Multiple novel[Ability]creation systems,-> Focus on Grades and Ranks, rather than on numbers,-> The best wolf to ever wolf,-> Flawed MC,-> No pandas.

Edit: Author is clearly a kind person. Even after harsh criticism he is still friendly and wishes everyone just the best. In my eyes, this story cN clearly be nice for some people who enjoy this kind of a story. So I change the rating for 5*.
To be honest, I liked how the novel started. A new way and kinda unique.
But then it hits, really hard. In my opinion.
The descriptions of everything is too much. "show, don't tell" is clearly not being done here. I experience not the story, but the flowery words and descriptions of everything he does. In addition the MC just suddenly has skills. No real logic behind that, when you read about that.
Other chapters are just info dumps, in addition to the flowery words and descriptions.
While reading the last chapters, I felt I am walking through chewing gum in my head. It was so hard, so stressful while so boring, that I has to fight to continue. But it didn't stop.
    So I had to stop.
All the other reviews are way too early in my opinion. Even this one could be too early, but it just doesn't make any fun to continue reading.
If you like long descriptions and some kind of info dumps in between, this is your novel. 100% :)
If you like logic, and immersion, experiencing the novel, this one here doesn't fit your style.
Still, I wish the Author all the best! And maybe an editing and rewriting of the early 10-15 chapters (or more, depends) will work wonders for the novel. :)

Thanks for this (the story as a whole not just the chapter), it is quite rare to find a gem like this :)
    to summarise:
    1. I like the characters
    2. Story is advancing in a good pace
    3. There are enogh ancedotes and innuendos to placate my need for smiles or  smirks.
and who knew that 50 words will take so many words to achieve :) :)

Cultivation novels are always strange, in a way, mystical and at the same time quite silly with their tropes and habits. But not this. Empyrean Heartfire takes the tried-and-true approach of cliche cultivation novels, but then improves upon it, fixing the flaws and adding its own personality onto it.
We have an interesting setting, a city surrounded by the dangerous Void, a young practitioner at the beginning of his journey, and the usual sect-like structure of power. However, while on the surface the novel might seem nothing new, it's in the details that good writing shines through. The novel takes its time, adopting a slower pace that lets us grow accustomed to the world and the character.
these last two are very real and believable, the world feels real and lived-in, with a rich history and complex hierarchies that are fitting of a society evolved after having been on the brink of destruction. It also feels like the author took their time to think about what the consequences of having centuries old cultivators would do, and it' s once again believable and good. Nothing too weird either, which makes it for a comfortable adventure.
the characters are the true gem here. Usually, and i did read comments about this very thing, people reading this genre dont like unlikable characters. Complex character. People who have their problems, make choices that are not always the best, and have conflict. The author here said "F that" and wrote exactly that, a compelling flawed character who has an unstoppable drive to grow but perhaps not the best motives to do so. He's a bit arrogant but not bloatedly so, unlikable at times but very relatable, and most of all human.
the universe does not give him free boons. He feels surprisingly average, perhaps above average but not through sheer luck but thanks to his own hard work. It's a very good thing, you should know, because free gifts for our MCs end up feeling like plot armor in the long run. No, i want to see the MC work for their

This story takes place in the Lit-RPG cultivation genre, genre, saturated by many authors. Yet, this story stands head and shoulders above them all let's consider the breakdowns.
Grammar: I've not noticed a single error in spelling, not a single missplaced comma, or hyphen or period. Contractions in speech are used appropriately; a lot of stories don't hit this. The sentences read smooth beyond the abilities of Grammarly, the author has true skill.
Style: I believe the hardest thing in writing, a hallmark of true mastery over the written word, is to elicit laughter, to emote humor in such a narrow media. The author at multiple points in a story made me laugh. I can count, maybe less than 20 books out of the hundreds I've read that I've accomplished this. Beyond the author's abilities in humor, we see a story steeped in imagery and conceptualizations. The power system needs an avid imagination and visualization from the author, and they deliver in every step of the way.
Characters: Humor is to style as dialogue is to character development. For realistic, breathable, and likable characters, you need dialogue that seems to be something people would say in real life. Like a transcription of a conversation instead of canned responses, there's a certain spontaneity that's required in dialogue, a certain amount of orthogonality of thought that you can feel happening behind every character's mouth. It makes them feel like different people, different operations, instead of mouthpieces to a single mind. Although we've actually not had too much dialogue,  I can feel that uniqueness in the disparate characters we've met so far.
World: This is what breaks a lot of lit RPG/cultivation stories I’ve read. The world needs to be unique, yet also make sense. Since there's not a concrete template for lit RPG and cultivation stories, like there is for just lit RPG by itself or cultivation for itself, a lot of stories fall short in making a world that seems alive and is congruent: someth

I really like the cultivation system made here and the possibility of him creating his own techniques, I just would maybe like some more explanation on how he creates them. I also really like character development so far, apart from how overdramatic his feelings towards his family feel. Overall I'm excited to see where this goes and how the mc develops.
    Keep it up!

Being new to the LitRPG genre, I decided to start with this story based solely on the writing. Reading the first chapter, I was immediately taken in by the main character's style and tone, and it looked like something I'd enjoy. I haven't been disappointed.
After the first chapter, there were things that confused me at first. I thought this might be due to my lack of familiarity with the genre. However, as I read, I realized some of this was a stylistic choice. Watching the individual lines and points come together over time was fascinating. It was like having a jigsaw puzzle with seemingly random pieces in place until just the right piece shows up and the picture starts to make sense. I enjoyed the sense of wonder every time information I thought was superfluous suddenly became a crucial driving factor.
I feel like something is missing from the main character's home life. I'm not sure I understand the people he interacts with there and how their relationships got to where they are now. Even though I can easily picture them, I'm not sure I understand their motivations and actions well. It seems like this background may have a lot to do with where the character finds himself now and how he chose his goals, so I'd love to see this fleshed out more.
I don't recall noticing a single issue with grammar or spelling throughout the book. It's got a good mix of showing rather than telling with only short bits of explanation where really necessary. It gives you space to imagine and dream rather than dragging you along in chains.
From the beginning, I was struck by the dry humor and humanity of the main character. They aren't flawless, and they know it. They're fairly honest about their struggles and issues and recognize similar things about the people they interact with. I know some people hate authors showing their characters, but I found the (appropriately behind a spoiler tag) images really interesting. My internal pictures of the characters turned out to be fairly consist

This novel as i said, has huge potential. already at chapter 16 we have some background into the MC's goals, ambitions and story. good world building and power system. don't know what more to say, i'm not good at reviews. I only review if the novel completely blows me away or dissapoints me in a huge way so me reviewing this already tells alot.
Big ups author, and hopefully you persist in this novel and you definetly deserve hitting the rankings ;D
P.S the only thing i dislike is his irrational outbursts at his mother (atleast irrational from my perspective), why has he not tried to find the reason behind her behaviour? it irritates me.

Written, well paced story set in a world that operates differently then most cultivation novels(save for Bastion) interesting story with an incredibly interesting and unique power system. The weakest part of the story so far are the characters as when compared to everything else(power system, world building, action and mysteries) most character including the mc feel flat. However this will most likely change as more chapters are released
