A really fun story that doesn't take itself too seriously. With all the fun quips and character development suitable for the genre, I couldn't stop reading. The character development and levelling up process is enjoyable and breezy. The main character's happy-go-lucky attitude and Rel's sarcasm makes for a great little duo. Would definitely recommend you start this so you can get hooked too.

As the title says, this story is exactly what it says on the tin. Take your average corporate drone that's been beaten down by life, and then kill him. The wake him up and tell him his one chance to survive is to do 'good' on some random leader boards. Leave him in a cabin in the woods, with tasteless food and suplies to live in the forest. Now this guy must have secretly wanted to be a lumberjack, because when he realized he could raise his STR through logging, he maxxed that the f out!
And thus starts the great journey of Pete, the lumberjack.

25 chapters in, I felt it was an appropriate time to give this one a review.
It’s one of the first few I’ve jumped onto since joining royal road, so I’ll preface by saying that this is setting the standard for what my expectation is on this platform.
From the start, the book kicks off and throws you into the world. No mucking around, you’re in it. Everything is established quickly. The systems are simple enough to keep up while jumping in and out, while still being complex enough to make it narratively interesting.
Character wise, over the 25 chapters I had some slight concern about different things, POV getting slightly tiring or a character lacking in growth, and right as I’d start to feel that, the next chapter would happen and that problem would be relieved.
Chapters are tight and engaging, it’s easy to read and not so heavy that you feel like you need to understand a whole new world, despite being introduced to one essentially.
Looking forward to sticking with it further and seeing where it progresses!

The Story & Pacing The story starts with Peter, a corporate guy who gets isekai'd by a sarcastic robot, and instead of panicking, he just rolls with it. The pacing is spot on.
The Characters & Humour This is the main reason to read it. You’ve got Peter, who is pretty chill, and Rel, this magic-wielding squirrel with a massive ego who calls himself a "Grandmaster".
Immersion & Style The writing style is super accessible and conversational. It feels like a person actually talking, not a textbook. The grammar is solid too, I didn't notice any jarring mistakes that pull you out of the immersion. The world-building with the "Galaxy Showdown" and the stats system is interesting enough to keep you hooked, but it doesn't bog you down with maths.
Verdict If you want something lighthearted, engaging, and genuinely funny, give this a go. It’s a solid 5/5 from me.

This is a fun one. I started reading it to fill some time, but then couldn't stop! Honestly a fun story that is well worth the time to pick up.
With classic moments like peasant chic, to awesome hats and a character that definitely isn't a squirrel, this is a story you definitely have to give a go.
The MC, in his handsome peasant garb, is fun in all the right ways, delivering justice and mayhem with fists rated for everyone
The only issue I've had with this story, is that once I started, I couldn't stop reading it!

I do not normally review stories so early, but this one is incredibly funny. Standard sort of system and light on the stat and detail stuff, but the dialogue and interaction between the MC and his friend are some of the best I have read recently. I almost never laugh out loud while reading stories even if I find them amusing, but I already have several times with this story. Give it a try!

This is a barn burner of an adventure. Peter Brookes is a likeable everyman, thrown into a competition he knows nothing about. Through a combination of stubbornness and determination (and some timely coaching) he tries to find a way to survive the incredible variety of challenges, wisecracking his way through the turmoil. You will surely be drawn into his growth and progress towards becoming the Strongest Man in the Galaxy. And his sidekick is pretty endearing too. This one is a great read.

Some people, when encountering a story like this might be tempted to give it a lower rating due to the slapstick humor and low stakes plot.I am not one of those people.Stories are not a zero sum game. The existence of something fun and lighthearted like this one does not lessen those thick meaty tomes you also love. My philosophy? Por que no los dos.Some stories really do have a lot of meat to 'em. You can gnaw on 'em like artisnal story-jerky. Eyes half lidded in bliss.This story is a twinky.But like a real good twinky. Like they used to make 'em back when you were a kid before they ruined the recipe.I say all that to say this: It's good, you should read it.
