The author has been very clear about being a fan of Roman History in the comments, and that love is apparent in damn near every paragraph. If you're someone interested in Roman History and also happen to be a LitRPG fan, you'll love this. I have a lot to say about this story, but I'll keep it for the appropriate sections.
Style: One of my personal favorite aspects of the story is just how it's presented, which is something I never imagined I'd say about a story. LitRPGs tend to struggle with style, whether it be due to [Skill Brackets] or the (in)famous Blue Boxes, there's always a bit of a struggle to present the LitRPG elements in a way that doesn't rub somebody the wrong way. In this story, though, the author uses a red font and italics to denote all the LitRPG elements which makes it feel distinct and recognizable. I love it. I'm gonna steal that someday lol.
Story: Another strong suit of the story is that everything matters. I'll get into it more in the Character section, but every decision made matters the the MCs character arc. I can tell the skills he gets and the things he experiences all happen due to his character, though I can't get too into detail without spoiling. It's one of those things I know not everyone will notice, but I appreciate how thoughtful the author is being with the story elements. Beyond that, this story has something to say. If I had to nitpick, I'd say that the MC can be a bit heavy-handed with his own characterization, which brings me out of the story sometimes and shows me the "hand of the author". It's a hard balance, one that I'm still actively learning to do, so good luck to you and me both lmao. Author to author, I'd say tone it down a tad and let his actions indicate his feelings over his words sometimes. It sends the same message in a much more palatable way.
Grammar: Fine. No issues that take me out of the story.
Character: I got into it earlier, but this is where the story shines for me. The MC has trauma that he needs to wo

    Friend of the author here:)
I love this series and I especially love the world building of Antiquitius and the “System”. The story itself grips tight from the very beginning and continues to be really engaging throughout. I also enjoyed the fast paced, short, punchy chapters and right off the bat being thrown into the world. The conflict picks up quite quickly but in a really compelling way that just draws you in deeper and deeper and leaves you needing to read that “one more chapter”. The characters are really intriguing also, active in their decisions, and relatable.
For anyone who’s a history buff, like me, you are going to find continuous enjoyment and delight encountering famous figures from various eras due to the nature of Antiquitus’s time spanning world. The core concept of the book’s world gets me very excited to see who else will pop up as side or main characters in the future.
I’m new to the Lit RPG genre but I find the writing device of the stats and progressions very interesting and fun to imagine being in the main character’s shoes.
I couldn’t recommend Hero of Rome more and I am excited for further chapters to come!

This novel has a very interesting plot and a relatable main character obsessed with mythology, especially Roman history and lore. The first-person narration works well, with a nice balance of descriptions and the character's inner thoughts and insecurities.
The writing is smooth and not overly descriptive, allowing the story to move at a good pace. Overall, if you're a fan of epic fantasy tales with a unique system influenced by Roman myths and history, then give this book a try. The realistic, flawed protagonist and the well-executed blend of personal drama and fantasy world-building make for an engaging read.

This is very early in the story, heck the mc has barely finished selecting his skills yet. There is a lot that we don’t know about the world, but it does seem interesting. I love how the System has been devised. The way it enjoys death and destruction with how it makes fun of the mc is quite…enjoyable (laughs sadisticly)
The style is quite good. The pacing is slow, but the style keeps the book interesting. There is quite a lot of historical content spread around in the fic, a lot to learn. I didn’t know half the characters mentioned. Or how rome functioned.
The story is just beginning but there are inklings of it being good. I like how it is going, and that there wasn’t a very long slave arc going around.
The grammar is something I don’t really have much right to judge. But since this site requires it, I will say that I did not find any difficulties reading it. If it is your concern then perhaps read some of the other reviews, I am sure someone had something to say about it.
The only character that gets a lot of showtime till now is the mc, and he is a relatable one. The others are interesting too though, especially the System. I love its comments - oh wait,  I already mentioned that.
I recommend giving this fic a chance!

If you were going to be isekai'd anywhere, who wouldn't want to end up in ancient Rome (or this awesomely upgraded version of it)? I'm surprised this is the first time I've come across it... and it's exciting!
I have to admit the first chapter left me stunned. It was one of those harrowing moments when you're thinking "surely not..."
HOWEVER NUMBER ONE STANDOUT: What shines about Hero of Rome is the implementation of an excellent, and contextually relevant SYSTEM. Good advancement mechanics are easy to write generically, but extremely hard to write uniquely. The author has slotted a progression system into a recognisable and culturally fitting context. It's REALLY good.
STORY is moving at a good pace, and THANKFULLY shows the potential for a resolution to what happened in Chapter One. At the time of this review I'm at chapter 15 which is all that has been released. It's interesting and well thought out. There's a satisfying balance of the historical and the mythical. It's real enough to believe it and unreal enough to really enjoy it.
CHARACTER work is good, MC is progressing quickly but not too quickly. Support characters are interesting and realistic. It's early in the story but I'm interested to see where Max is headed and why.
STYLE and GRAMMAR are both good quality. The story flows well, sentence and paragraph structure is good and dialogue is believable. Generally I don't like 1st person, and it's often enough to put me off. It didn't here because it's written consistently well. There are some humourous interludes at the start of each chapter that I found a little distracting.
OVERALL: A great read I'm recommending. I think there's a little bit of ancient Rome in all of us, why shouldn't there be a little bit of all of us transported to ancient Rome.
    Thanks gajensen, keep it coming.

It’s only been 6 Chapters and I can already see great potential in this novel. The plot is interesting, the main character feels realistic, with real insecurities and relatable obsession with mythologies (Have you thought about the Roman Empire yet this week?). I can tell that the author puts a lot of effort into each chapter and the characters that I’ve seen so far.
If you like Epics, unique system, and Roman history, then definitely give this one a try!
    Style
This story follows a First-Person-POV, which is something I’m not a fan of writing, but I enjoy reading them a lot especially when the author knows how to balance description and inner monologues. And they did just that! Everything flows very smoothly, and the details of the scene weren’t overly descriptive. So great job on this!
    Grammar
The only things I noticed are some spelling mistakes here and there, but not distracting enough that they interrupt the flow of the story. Some more careful proofreading could easily solve this issue.
    Story
6 Chapters so far, and the story is moving along at a nice pace. It’s not too fast nor too slow in my opinion, and the author successfully grabs the reader’s attention with their storytelling. I feel like the plot itself is this novel’s strongest point, it’s well thought-out, and gives a similar feel to a Hero’s Epic written through the main ‘Hero’’s POV.
    Character
Max so far is the only character that feels real in the story, most likely because we read the story through his eyes, though this is also because I’ve only gone through 6 Chapters so far, and the other characters still don’t have their time to shine. They’re coming along nicely though, especially the bandit king. I’m also going to count the System as a ‘Character’, because somehow the notifications managed to give off so much sass that I want to grab it by the throat sometimes, this story has quite the interesting system. The characters are definitely another one of the novel’s strong point.

A great read so far! As an easy, quick read, the story carries itself along easily. The LitRPG text boxes do their textboxing thing. The author made a good choice in using a colour for their System messages, though it wouldn't work for every story it works here.
My rating is based off the easy flow of the story and the general lack of mistakes or confusing moments that plague unedited work.
    Good luck to the author.

It's an interesting reincarnation/transmigration premise where our MC ends up in a gamified world with a world System that seems to enjoy poking at its inhabitants.
    Style
The style is fairly standard, easy to read through and understand what is happening in the story. It's a first person jaunt through an ancient Roman world. There hasn't been much in the way of visual descriptions for areas so far, but I think that wouldn't be much of a con for most.
    Story
The premise is very interesting, being a transmigration to a very gamified version of ancient Rome. I think it's interesting that most of the people here seem to have been from actual ancient Rome and just got reincarnated here... I think the timelines for when people left Earth and got to Antiquitus are probably a bit hand-wavy, which could lead to interesting narrative threads if handled well.
With where I am now in the story, there is a lot about this new world that is still a mystery, so I think it will be interesting to see where it goes.
    Grammar
I found the grammar to be inconsistent in the story, and there are a number of places where odd phrasings or word choices stood out to me. I did notice that the story is marked as 'AI-assisted content', and with no indication of how exactly it is AI assisted I can only make guesses.
That said, it feels pretty obvious that there are a few different voices here. The notices from the System tend to be more consistent with grammar and spelling, though I have noted some misspellings in the story as well. One character in particular has had their name misspelled several times, each time in a different way.
I'm unsure if the AI is just being used to generate System messages, or if it is also being used to aid in grammar, but there are times where reading felt clunky and odd.
    Character
So far the character I have the most insight into is Max, the MC. At the moment he's a fairly typical nobody who was going nowhere thinking he's going to make the best of his life just because
