- NellaraRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story is one of the best fan-fiction stories i have ever read, right up there with Chaos Rising, These Silver Eyes, Shadowed Knowledge and A Nerubian's Journey as my top 5. The way the author has taken the world of harry potter and made it into something completely his own and IMO better then the original with a butterfly effect so impeccably done that it is actually insane. The characters in this story, both new and old, are fully fleshed out and interesting people to read about and i have even found myself enjoying some characters that were weak in the original. Harry as the main character is the clear favorite for me but a certain piece of apparel(read it to find out what i mean) is a close second. The overall quality of the writing is great as well. The only negative i have for this story at all is that there are a lot of VERY SMALL continuity errors that did take me out of the story a bit when i read them and i will give an example to show what i mean:At one point in the story Harry is invited to his second Slughorn party and in 1 chapter he says that this party will be a bit different from the previous one because Tonks and Penny will both be there with him and then in the very next chapter while talking about it again he says that Tonks will be there and maybe Penny will be invited when she ends up skipping a year in potions. So as you can see it is very minor but this sort of thing was happening frequently.Overall i love this story and i will be keeping up with it going forward and you should too.
- OnlyBliss :)Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Generally speaking i think fanfictions are a bit bad. This one isn't, surprise surprise. Characters feel like actual people with personalities which I love. Mc is bit too ridiculously driven imo, but makes it up by genuinely being an adult. A lot of what it gets criticized for are actually the best parts for me.
- 0: The FoolRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's a solid package of AU and Reincarnation.
Well, don't expect canon plot here people, it's AU. Changes are not needlessly cliche, It's more of a "what if" scenario - change one thing, and everything changes.
Characters feel alive, you can sympathize with them. You feel their joy, sadness, and rage.
Overall a pleasurable read as everything is done right. - FishergirlzRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The Style,Story,Grammar And Characters In This Story Are All Amazing, In My Opinion There Is Nothing Wrong With The Story. Though The Fact That Penny Is The Only Thing That Seems To Remind Harry Of His Past Life On A Consistent Basis When The Only Thing She Seems To Have In Common With His Past Life Lover Is Her Blonde Hair And Some Character Traits (Maybe Blue Eyes As well?) Kinda Bugs Me Along With The Fact That Even Before Harry Started Puberty He Was Sometimes Describing Penny In A Way That I View As Romantic In His Internal Monologue, I Know A Central Part Of Harry's Character Is That He Does Not Hang Around Or Pay Attention To Alot Of People So He Doesn't Really Have Anyone Else To Compare To His Former Lover Or To Remind Him Of Of Her But If I Have One Piece Of Constructive Criticism For This Story It Would Be If The Author Wants To Keep Bringing Up Harry's Past Life Lover Which I Image Will Happen More Later On In The Story When Harry Gets Older To Either Acknowledge That Penny Is Going To Fill That Role And Write The Story With That In Mind Or To Make A Preferably Older Woman That Can Remind Harry Of His Past Lover Like A Muggle Woman He Meets While Using The Aging Potion During The Summer One Year Or Something Different.
- OmniextRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0As anyone whose ever been in the HP fandom and read its stories for a while knows, HP fics tend to be samey and predictable- even the ones with seemingly unique prompts. This one does not disappoint.
Harry Evans and the well-lived death takes somewhat uncommon tropes of Harry being an Evans, the Dursleys being familial, Harry being an SI, etc, and sticks them in a decidedly not canon universe. You know enough for it to be familiar, but enough things are different that I actively want to know more.
I like the SI so far too. He might be a bit too competent for some people, but to me, it's a good, realistic competent. At least, for a reasonably motivated adult. - HannahHPMRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've read well over a dozen Harry Potter fanfiction, because I love Harry Potter and I love going back to that world. This novel is the kinda that I love, rather just an edge lord inserted into the narrative. We get a protagonist removed from the plot wrapped in a mystery, his strength is earned his mind is sharp, you feel his pain and are compelled to care about him. This a re-imaging of Harry Potter, that needs to update faster. For my sake.
- IphigelinaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have to say the idea of Harry only being his mother son and not from James Potter loin took me by surprise. Well...we all know the Snape or Sirius is the dad but that's not the case here ( I would be VERY surprised if it was indeed !).And this completely different beginning sure changed how our OC view his 'foreknowledge'. It's clearly barely reliable and not an unbelievable cheat code. Which is very appreciable for us because HP with foreknowledge is boring and too easy if the MC is a minimum clever.I loved how this changed the dynamic of the Dursley. Abusive asseholes is an overdone plot but changing them for the better in a believable fashion is rather refreshing.Harry himself is rather likeable for the reader. I love a MC with great work ethic and ambition and he's certainly that. The maturity of a mentally older character is there. Which means not much brashness and more thought out planning. Playing the long game is rarely within a kid perspective but we see our MC doing it. Which is logical with his peculiar circumstance and greatly appreciated. The plot is surprising and with a lot of appreciated new stuff. I didn't feel as if I was stuck in canon. It was new and exciting, exploring paths undiscovered with interesting world building. All in all, à very enjoyable HP fanfic that I see myself rereading just for the pleasure of it ^^Go try it yourself 😀
- DasavarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0An incredibly well written story containing an intelligent oc/au mc, believable advancement based on their situation, and well thought out in depth building of plot and storyline.I felt the need to binge all 49 chapters in about 7 hours across 2 days due to daily requirements of life, and yet feel empty wanting for more.
- JuriaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A very interesting story, it stands out from the rest because it doesn't add anything that deviates from the reality of Harry Potter and our sense of organization. It brings a new perspective, for me, of being an alternative Harry Potter (Harry Evans) and the author manages to develop how this affects the world, which takes away the element of knowing everything that will happen when reading a Fanfic. The characters are well-made, both the new ones and the personality of the ones already known, and the way of dealing with magic is very sober, talking to the one in the original book, unlike other stories where it gets weird. The pace of the story can be a little slow since at almost 200k you are still finishing the second year of school, but this speed doesn't bother you when reading. This book is very worth reading, it will be among the best Harry Potter fanfics I've ever read if I finish it (via Google Translate).
- Phantom8Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Wasn't really sure what I was in for when starting this but damn am I impressed. The story is well written with a structured plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Like most fan fictions you will have had to read or watch the HP series to have an understanding of the general path the story should take. This general path only serves to highlight the differences and makes a good contrast for the reader.
Keenly looking forward to the rest of this story and hope the author keeps up the good work.
