This book has been a fun read so far. I love how the author blended grimdark elements with the litRPG genre. And I especially, like it dark. Not to mention that the author has a pretty good idea of what he is doing. Anywho, I might as well continue with the review. And as always, I shall be as honest and sincere and fair as possible...
Story: Our MC, Jonathan, is basically the husband-to-be of lady bad-luck. Not only does he live a rather average-to-miserable life but he also ends up dying too. And just when you think his luck will turn around for the better as he gets isekai'd, he just ends up getting blown to bits. The next thing he knows - he is in hell. Yes, that hell. From there, as the description from the story suggests, Jonathan decides that he is going to become Hellbreaker. Hell has no wrath like a Jonathan's scorn.
Style: The style is good. The scenes, the atmosphere and the overall mood of the story is well-written. I didn't really see anything that broke immersion for me. The author also truly brings the LitRPG to life with hsi style. The character's stats are also very easy to follow. Great job.
Character: The MC is Jonathan, and he is one heck of a character. However, I feel like the character aspect is the weakest part of the story. Most of the things that Jonathan says or does are usually not really easy to grasp your head around, but nothing too over-the-top though. I would also appreciate just a little bit characterization. But then again, the action compensates for it so it isn't really something to worry about.
Grammar: Absolutely nothing to worry about.
Overall, this is a great story and I will definitely recommend it if you are a fan of LitRPGs with entertaining action sequences.

Jonathan Harlowe is having a bad day.
First he crashes his truck into a tree and dies, worse his delivery is now going to be late and his boss is going to be angry at him! Next, he gets isekai’d to a new world to be the chosen of a god, only to have another god blast him into ashes with a bolt from the blue before he can do anything! Finally, he gets sent straight to Hell!
I mean, you’d be pretty pissed too, you know? Well, this here story is about how John rises from a damned soul in Hell. His plan is simple, he is going to break Hell like Bane broke the Batman.
You can expect plenty of action, in addition to quite a few unanswered questions, and some crunchy litrpg numbers to boot. The story isn’t deeply philosophical, John is more a “punch things in the face until they stop being a problem” kind of guy.
If you’re looking for a straightforward action litrpg, you’re in the right place!

    Overall Score—5/5 Stars
Hellbreaker is a straight forward and direct journey into the deepest abyss of one man's sheer stubborn resolve in the face of unimaginable hardship. Our hero, Jonathan, has managed to not only be isekai'd—but simultaneously murdered upon 'spawn', as well. Cast down to Hell by a vicious God, he is forced to survive in a multi-layered nightmare of reality where everything wants to murder him. In essence, he's sent to Australia on steroids. Jonathan must navigate demons, danger, and a landscape that wants to kill him while seeking the completion of his ultimate objective: to kill the Devil himself. I found myself enjoying Hellbreaker, though it isn't what I'd call a breakthrough in literary genius. I have some few reservations, but none are enough to really warrant a star reduction. Its premise is uncomplicated, straightforward, and simple—and as I have said in past reviews, there is beauty in simplicity. Hellbreaker embodies this to the letter. It is a joyous, vicious, masculine ride-along for one man's crusade to punch Hell itself square in the jiggly bits, and I, personally, loved it.
    Style Score—4.5/5 Stars
Hellbreaker loses half a star here simply because the System style bothers me, personally, due to its use of strictly improper grammar and simplistic formatting. There isn't enough to differentiate it from the remainder of the text, and the ratio use of colons ([Name]:[Description] instead of [Name]: [Description) bothers me deeply. This is a personal thing, of course, but one I can't help but feel I am not alone in nit-picking—and I am nothing if not self-destructively honest in my reviews. DabossUnberogen has genuinely crafted a world I can invest myself in, and other than this one but prominent recurring issue, I can safely say that his style of writing is exactly up my alley. He focuses on punching things in the face, and that's just fine by me.
    Grammar Score—5/5
Given that my only nit-pick about grammar is an intentional stylistic c

Like some of the other stories on this site, Hell Breaker is a combat focused drama that is more about the journey than the actual destination.  Our MC is stuck in some kind of fantasy equivalent of Dante's Inferno and we're being taken along with him on his long slog through Hell.
Although the author has shown hints of a larger narrative beyond our combat focused drama, they currently feel like a McGuffin that justifies the plot setting while ultimately being unimportant to the story being told.  Time will tell if this changes in the future.
Currently this is a solo character drama.  There isn't a supporting cast or world building elements.  If that's what you're looking for in a story, then this tale may not be for you.

This is an awful lot of fun.
The author leans in - in a big, hulking manly way - into all the key LitRPG tropes and batters the life out of them. We have stats, we have OP we have monsters being dispatched in brutal and well described ways. Basically, if you like this genre then there is no way in the universe you are not going to enjoy this.
Jonathan is basically tearing through Hell kicking ass and taking names. A few people have mentioned below the line in comments that the only way to truly appreciate this novel is to do so with the Doom soundtrack on in the background. I heartily agree.
This is well written. The style and grammar demonstrate that we are safely in the hands of someone that has been there and done that. There's lots of chapters coming at a good speed and, basically, this is going to be on RS in a very short period of time.
Overall, this is an obvious one for a follow if you are on Royal Road to read LitRPG. You should, absolutely, be adding it to your favourite list and just enjoy the insane violence.

    I like the grimdark elements!
They are done well, and normally, I do not enjoy LitRPG. However, it's done in a way that is enjoyable!
I hope to see the story progress! The fast growth is very impressive and not unwarranted. Explore the depth of the character a bit and the story will go even further.
    Keep it going!

Not Bad, not bad at all. I’ve only read about 20 chapters but it has certainly piqued my interest. The character is a tad bit bland, but that is the only bad thing about this story I can really think about. The progression is really fast, perhaps a bit too fast at some points, but it is a LitRPG so what can you expect.
    UPDATE:
It has been exactly 203 chapters since my first review of this story, and I’ve got to say that it has really, really improved. From the overall story and depth of the MC to the action/progression of said character. I especially like the scenes in which the MC develops his runic knowledge and know-how. I am excited to see how the story continues to progress and see how traveling to different circles work. My only concern would be that as the MC travels from one circle to another, that the story gets repetitive. It hasn’t happened yet, and I hope it never does, but this story could easily devolve into ‘Mc defeats circle lord, is transported to circle # 2, amasses more power, MC defeats circle lord # 2, is transported to circle #3, and so on’ So far there is no evidence of that happening, and the story has only gotten better as time has progressed. Here’s to 200 more chapter, and perhaps many more.

Sentenced to infinite Hells? No problem for this Mc. This is a very good read with leveling system and elements that flow well within the story. I was locked into it and kept reading to find out more and more .
The Author has a good style that keeps you engaged into the story and like mentioned I did want to see some more so I went on ahead and did just that.  Grammar I didn't see a single issue at all. It is pretty solid in terms of the Grammar.
The Story is good and it is clear that the Mc has a sense of direction in this world. I like the quest system and the way it works there for completing them . It gives me the whole game-like feels that litrpg titles should have in them . The goal to become the Hellbreaker and how it was defined was great. I loved the actions that the story provided. The Character himself is good in this world in his understanding and there is some funny and entertaining moments with them. If I had to say one thing though, it would be that the progression may seem just a little fast, but  it's not a problem as long as the action keeps entertaining as it has been.
Overall, I am giving this the full marks. Story is worth reading and you will not be dissapointed. You will get  to see the Hells of Hellbreaker.

Chapters 11 through 151 are missing but up until that point I've had a great time reading. There's a tone of action and so far the status screen isn't overbearing, though I'm only on chapter 10 because of the missing ones. Hopefully they come back cause I'm loving it so far!!
