Description

One superhero. Five selves. Zero chill.

Abigail Callahan, the wisecracking pyrokinetic hero known as Ignition, thought she could handle anything. Then, a battle with a powerful sorceress fractured her. Hurled into a strange magical world, Abigail is now five distinct selves—Pyra, Cinder, Ember, Kindle, and Ash—each embodying a piece of her power and personality.

Cursed by the sorceress Nyx, they're bound together: attempting to merge back into one invites agonizing torment, and perhaps ultimate death. Five selves are equilibrium, but equilibrium is chaos when those selves are constantly at odds.

To find a way home, or even just survive, they'll need to master their fractured powers and navigate a world filled with wizards, magical creatures, and the looming threat of the Magisterium's rigid laws.

But can five warring aspects of one hero learn to work as one before their internal conflicts or the external dangers destroy them all? The price of failure isn't just their lives—it's oblivion.

Dive into a fiery fantasy adventure where finding yourself means embracing the fragments.

What to Expect:

•Snappy Banter and Humor: Sharp wit and humorous dialogue punctuate the adventure, even amidst danger and existential crises.

This chapter NAILS the tension between "comedy" and "genuinely horrifying circumstances." Pyra's internal monologue keeps things light ("ominous research compound as a design challenge") while the actual situation (prisoners being turned into empty-eyed vessels) is DARK. The worldbuilding through observation is excellent - we learn about the facility organically through Pyra's eyes without infodumps. The group dynamic between the prisoners is great too, especially Ranth becoming the pragmatic voice of reason. Love how Pyra channels her scattered selves' perspectives to problem-solve. And that ending? "Too mean to die" as a survival philosophy is both hilarious and weirdly inspiring. Can't wait to see if Malik actually shows up or if this crew has to spite their way out solo.

uhh what do I need for 50 words... Typically I put a lotta effort into reviews but this one's a special case... Ya know I understand why authors use AI for their book covers but like damn most of the front page looks like the same exact thing now. Don't get me wrong I'd do the same thing, and the art can look good (I enjoy this book's cover), but it makes this site look like a slop farm sometimes.
