I accidentally ran into this on amazon, and could not put it down! (I caught up with the available books and had to come find the latest chapters here.) Its one of the best paced adventurous stories that I've read in the past year. It's not what I expected going in, and I'm very impressed with the steady pace of updates, given that the author is also working a full time job. The side characters are gaining depth with time + the main character actually shows growth in his interactions with others, with his own values, etc. The plot is exciting and I find myself eagerly anticipating the next chapter every time. I also admire the world building, and the pace at which more information is revealed to the reader. I find that I want to know more about this mysterious world, it's strange rules, the questors and their machinations, the mortals that live extraordinary lives - everything! I hope that the author fully fleshes out this world and its characters - I would love to keep visiting this world with Nathan for years to come.

I originally came across this on Amazon and read all of it on unlimited. After the first book I was hooked enough to track it down here and keep reading.
Is science the opposite of magic? Well functionally in this case, as the main character is a scientist portaled into a fantasy world and develops anti-magic as his main ability.
If you like casual science applied to magic and trying to learn the rules of a world out, then you'll enjoy this series.

Great writing, a strong protagonist with powerful motivations (dunno what the other reviews are talking about, the guy is multi-dimensional not contradictory), exciting worldbuilding and an overall strong supporting cast!
The character is dealing with the truly difficult situation of being passionately against atrocity, but without the means to act against it, either because of lack of personal power, or because the consequences of poking the bear are greater than he and his community are able to handle. The book is *about* his struggle with that dilemma, both personally and societally and it handles it remarkably well so far.
Minor notes: Personally I'd wish for a lil more slice of life and a lil less fighting, but that's a me thing. Progression is satisfying and interesting without being the only thing the story is about. Grammar is strong and simple, the prose fades away and lets you get lost in the background. No turns of phrase that'll make you shiver in delight, but certainly higher level than a lot of the litrpgs i see on here. I'm choosing to believe that the village given about four different names (firefield? Fairfield? Farfield?) is an inside joke :p
Excited to see where this goes in the future!

It's a good engaging read, with thoughtfully constructed characters.
None of the instant superpower op protag stuff, but a well reasoned progression, and hard fought achievements.
I've written twenty six words for a review. I struggle to write more than that.
The story is really good,  you should read it!

This has been a great story so far. There have been ups and downs as far as plot/rationale, but otherwise i've enjoyed it the whole way through. However, I sometimes feel like the "antimagic" aspect just ends up being a gimmick because it is often made irrelevant by the skill system. I don't feel this way often, but when it hits it hits, yah know?
    Thanks for the chaps.

Right off the top I want to say that I loved this story. Devoured it all in a couple of days. If you are looking for the next, great Reed, give this one a try there's already two stories completed and he's working on the third.
It's a tale as old as time. A man from earth is brought to a magical world and develops great powers, making him a force to be reckoned with however, there is a twist. This man develops the ability to negate all magic.
this is not just a slice of life, but the stories are self contained. They have a plot and development and actual beginning, middle and end. The world is well developed and provides enough mystery that you're constantly wondering what is going to happen with all of these little depictions. There is a mystery with the world that slowly develops within the story that is being told, and gives excitement for what is coming.
Are you a main character as well developed, and utilizes his scientific knowledge to attempt to build, not only his own power, but that of his comrades. The other characters in the story are also well developed, and you get the idea that each of them have their own lives, and don't just exist to help the main character out.
There are conflicts between the beliefs of a main character, and how the world works, where he is now, and those conflicts serve to drive a story, for that gives him a reason for the choices that he makes.
Powers in the system all interesting although not excessively unique. I do like that the characters Main Powell has drawbacks that he needs to overcome. It can be a bit difficult to determine relative power levels, especially as we don't often get the knowledge of what levels of the characters are so we're never quite sure how strong they would be in comparison to our main characters.
really I think the only thing that I disliked about the story and not enough to make me not want to read or even to get irritated at it was the naming conventions. A few of them were just, they increased confu

Top notch! You have goog guy guys and totally evil, yet believable bad guys. All the straightforward punching baddies to death, none of the complicated morals.
Importantly the baddies are believable! Straightforward badness that real humans did! The sort of problem you can punch to death!
Also the good guys are good. No moral compramise!

A well written story with an unique take on litrpg.
I started reading it and couldnt stop, until i have read all chapters. Just the right mix of game mechanics and story tension, which leaves you craving for more. Many isekai novels suffer from clichè overuse, but none are overly present in this story.

Top tier LITRPG. Seriously one of my favorite book series ever. Can't wait for the next audiobook release.
Smart and complex magic system that's fully consistent. Complex characters with multiple competing interest and great development. Great storytelling with multiple arcs that tie together seamlessly while escalating.
In my opinion the pitfall many books in this genre fall into is losing touch. When your characters are so powerful they can destroy a Galaxy with the snap of their fingers, problems and conflicts are meaningless and hard to relate to for the reader. The author doesn't amazing job of keeping characters relatable and the conflicts meaningful, you always feel as though the MC is playing for real stakes.
I can't say enough good things about the series. I recommend it all the time. It's a must read!
