Let’s Not [Obliterate]: An OP MC Romance
Community Rating
Description
Slaying the Ancient Evil? Theora would rather sleep.
For her entire life, the System's strongest heroine has dreaded the inevitable: wandering to the Zenith of the End to unseal the Ancient Evil, and kill her. It's her Main Quest; a task as unwelcome as it is necessary. But when she arrives to complete it, she finds the demon brimming with life and kindness.
Dema, having been sealed for millennia, loves a little mischief, and loves staying alive. It's what she became immortal for in the first place, after all… So when a powerful hero arrives and breaks her prison, she can't help but crush on her a little, and somehow manages to convince her to run off together.
And so, the two decide to postpone the inevitable, at least for a while. Instead, they go on to explore their vast and brimming world to defeat the true evils and to enjoy the true joys, like bathing in lava, reviving fossils, or making tea out of rocks — occasionally breaking reality and visiting other worlds in the process. As a treat.
But the clock is still ticking, even for immortals. The System won't tolerate being denied forever.
Includes:— doomed slow burn yuri— overpowered & immortal main characters— cozy with emotional impact— jellyfish girls, bug girls, cosmic horrors & occasionally breaking reality

- inneresPartyhuetchen:aufsetzenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm usally more into BL's but this is awesome. I love how the 2 female main characters interact and respect boundaries. I love how a lot of things take time. The way one of the MC's asseses situations and comes to conclusions makes me feel things. In general this makes me feel stuff.
- CarbonCopyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story is character driven and the interaction between the 2 main characters is absolutely delightful. The most confusing part of the story is the passage of time. As the main characters are both immortal, it's difficult to catch how much time has passed (likely on purpose). I wasn't sure what to expect with the title, but I couldn't put down the story and read the archives in about a day.
- Chaos JesterRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I hope the author doesn't take offense to this, but I love Let's Not [Obliterate] as a nice popcorn read. It's entertaining enough to keep me hooked and acts as a great palate cleanser between more serious and dramatic reads.
Both of the main characters are well thought out, and even though they stick to their archetypes for the most part, their relationship as a duo is what grows and evolves, something that the author absolutely nails. - CheeseDreamerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Haven't written a review in a while, but I'll try my best!
This is one of the stories where you forget you were reading a novel and not living it.
Style: The story features 2.5 immortal MC's, often switching povs, there is almost always something happening, but the pace manages to stay slow and chill, there are multiple instances of time-skipping, but they're not a tool for plot progression, instead they're a logical expression of how the story unfolds, seamlessly woven into it, with imortality making time a bit subjective.
The world building is immaculate, there are always details to be found, suprises for even millennia old entities. The characters actions interact, influence the world in ways that get more apparent the more time passes, in ways that affect their future actions and the way the story progresses.
You're also never given any info dumps, as you learn and explore the world around you through the characters.
Grammar: I have nothing to say there, everything is perfect and any typos missed are promptly fixed as soon as noticed.
Story: It's a story about acceptance, learning to live, love, laugh, and unlike that pun, it's an original take on a classic concept of enemies -> lovers.
While the story is sweet and lighthearted, it's not all sugar, spice, everything is nice, as it dives into sensitive topics like a 10 times olympic swimming champion.
It's a very sweet emotional rollercoaster you would never want to get out of.
Characters: Both Theora as well as Dema characters never stay static, learning more about themselves and about each other. Their relationship going through similar challenges, changing along with their growth as characters.
They both feel like their own person, they both have their own intents and goals, they're both alive in a very realistic and well portrayed sense.
The side characters as well, have their own traits, worries, small nuances that make them feel a part of this world, which makes them just as alive as the main characters. - DragoneveRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So often stories have an op MC either be a blatant psychopath, a paragon of virtue, or have some other incredibly rare idealized trait that just hand waves away what a realistic person would have to go through and do to obtain that power. It's all for good reason of course, and it doesn't have make for a bad story, but the way Theora has dealt with her near omnipotence is a portrayal I deeply appreciate, and although I'm nowhere near the pinnacle of anything, something I almost resonate with sometimes. The story is deeply character driven, and the two central characters are up to the task, and honestly I like to think of the system as a character as well sometimes.
Honestly speaking you'll probably either love the story or feel nothing about it and drop it one chapter in. There's not really an ensemble cast at least so far and despite the supposed stakes of things and what the MC is supposed to solve, it's incredibly obvious that they will be solved simply because that's not the point of the story. It's about whether she can finally get over what looks to be the most deep set ennui humanly possible combined with a horrific mix of all sorts of things a therapist must be salivating at. - Dryad17Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is the first review I have ever written on this site, I think that speaks for itself! This book had me sobbing for the first time in years, it is such a happy, emotional ride! The characters are well written, the budding love is beautiful and emotional, and the author depicts their immortal characters really well! Absolutely adore this series!
- Giordano1997Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This isn't just your regular litrpg. The overpowered MC trope is actually done well, and is fundamental to the plot.
The worldbuilding is bright and fun, with characters that feel almost alive.
I'd definitely say to give this a try if you know you enjoy a story more focused on internal exploration with a sprinkle of badassery.
Also, I ship! - VultiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A Romance Novel that ensures you never look at other romance novels the same ever again. Not only is the story S tier the cover art is on another level. The scenes make you feel like your their with Theora and Dema in the moment and everytime I read I get this warm feeling in me. This novel helped me through some hard times. Would give 10 starts if I could
- allegoriestCicadaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The name kind of makes it sound like a generic power fantasy, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Fantastic character writing with a gripping premise. There's some litrpg stuff, but that's far away in the background as to not distract from what really matters: reading about a depressed gay dork
- AfkJustAfkRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A really great story, I've read many same-gender romance and this one has it's tweak!
A really detailed work, Good book Cover, Very Inspiring and adaptive.
One thing's missing, and it's the character themed plot itself, I'm not sayin' things have gotten wrong with the other chapters, it's just.. lacking.
But don't worry! Overall the novel is great, happy writing!
