--
Lots of people get Isekai'd, and Matt is no exception. After a quickly resolved misunderstanding with a truck-shaped system assistant, he's sent to Gaia, the garden planet. The truck assures him it's going to be a really good fit. And it would probably be right, too, if it wasn't for the fact that Gaia is a burned-out wasteland, completely devoid of life.
Matt has all the system-granted advantages of a litRPG Isekai hero - it's just that he arrived a little late for them to do anyone any good. Now Matt is starving, wandering through a sterilized, featureless wasteland that doesn't much care about his improved stats, and trying to find a system-issued guardian that might not even exist. Can he survive a planet that didn't survive itself?

- WhiteRose-BlueSpaceRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Congratulations, you've died of cancer and after that bout of extreme suffering, you have been given a new chance! At extreme suffering that is! Have fun!
But in all seriousness, this is a very cool series with an excellent sense of humour. Its setting and premise is unique with our lovely MC here being stranded in a dead world. Not a death world and there are Catachans and such, nope! A completely dead world and that's bold, and I like it.
Anyway, onto the categories!
Style
Excellent to put it simply! The comedy flows from it and the wonderful prose in it, with the first chapter being an especially great example of this series' excellence here.
Story
Good so far, I give it a thumbs up!
Grammar
No problems I see so far
Character
Strong start but I don't know much about them right now. I like em though. Well, the one character.
Overall, I'd say you should try this. Now. Before death takes you and gives you the worst reincarnation rolled by a system. I mean, seriously, they could at least do some checks to make sure the Gaia world has been screwed over by the people they dumped here last time! - Nova JRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story despite not being too heavy on the stats, powers and fights manages to bring you something unique and definitely worth the read. Every chapter has been exciting and you can feel the work put into the story as a whole. It definitely earned its place on rising stars.
- ArgrowwRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0As I'm still pretty new to LitRPGs I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy this series. A story about a guy all on his own, lonely on a barren world? Can't be that exciting right?
Wrong! From the first chapter I was hooked. The MC is a relatively normal guy who aside from his cancer seems to have had a pretty uneventful life and ended his days with fairly mundane tasks, but death thrusts him into something unexpected, new...but potentially equally dull if it wasn't for his drive to keep going, to persist, to survive where his Pre-Isekai life didn't let him.
I loved this story so much that I often found myself reading when I should have been doing something else. Could the series end at book 3? I certainly hope not, there's absolutely more to be told and in a theme that runs true to the series its not the bigger left-over question that I want more of (can the MC beat the "Big Bad") its the minutiae. How new friendships develop, the back story to existing allies, what unexpected events occur on Gaia. Its the little things I want more of because they are what give life to the story.
Absolutely a quality read! - AsimRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The matt(MC) sent to dying world because janet (the system ) was lazy to check the world Is OK
beside the fight between the system and mc to find loophole
the world Is interesting
And now he try revive world
With help for Lucy and Chad (the dungeon system) - ClassicjonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have really enjoyed this story thus far, 46 chapters in. I would go so far as to say it’s surprisingly earnest. I mean, the people, even the people who aren’t human, feel very authentic. I don’t think I have come across such a compelling ‘system guide’ character. Based on the authors bio, I suspect some of the inspiration comes from his own kids. And the other side characters, of whom I won’t say more to avoid spoiling anything, have this same reality about them that just makes a story in my opinion. The setting is also fascinating and fresh despite being ancient and dead. The writing is pleasant and well put together. The plot is engaging, and worth digging into, and not just for leveling your digging skill. I eagerly await the next chapter.
- crizzazzleRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Having just finished the third and possibly final book, I felt the need to give it a review
To be honest the first novel nearly lost me it was a bit lonely and depressing, but it had some interesting ideas and I really liked the snarky system. It served as a very good start to the trilogy. Second book was better, and by the third book items really hit it's stride.
As with all good books, I'm sad to see it go. - jean5Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really like this story.
It manages to make the protagonist survival seems both really absurd and also merited.
The writing is competent.
The characters are compelling (albeit they are few).
Lucy is a very good riff on the classic isekai guide trope.
The system being evil for nebulous reason is treated with the serious it deserves. - ben12345Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Spoiler-free review. Reviewed at the end of book 1.
Overall, extremely high-quality writing. Grammar, character development, plot and pacing, world building. All five star quality.
On overall originality, there are definitely some genre-staple elements here. But these are combined in a compelling - and ultimately fun to read - way.
If I were to dock points, it would be that the plot sets up some big mysteries, but is then a little too-eager in answering some of them (especially via the few perspective shifts). I would have liked to see the plot play its cards a little closer to its chest for longer. But this is not enough to detract from the overall rating. Looking forward to more. - GearRatioRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Reviewing at chapter 10, for the record.
Right now, I think this has promise, some of which it's lived up to. Most characters are dumped into a world they dominate with the system, this character is dumped into a world with nothing but the system and dirt, basically.
Within the confines of that, the author seems to be doing a "The Martian, but Isekai also" thing. It's mostly working. The character has skills, but so far they are only marginally useful. It seems like a very slow progression, so I don't expect OP any time soon.
The character doesn't have anyone to talk to but himself, so the majority of the storytelling happens through narration. Which is fine, so far. It will be interesting to see how it holds up.
So far, so good, and with a pretty fast release schedule. - Aether19Royal Road★★★★★ 4.54.5 stars because excellent start. Just wanted to post this to say, protagonist named Matt on dead red planet vieing for survival against all odds? If this isn't The Martian starring Matt Damon, then I don't know what is! Loving it thus far, and shall return again whence I finish book 1 on kindle.
