Description

What to Expect: A slow-life xianxia with crafting, character-heavy writing, and exploring the world and people of Xianxia in a way the genre usually skips over. Booker has woken up in the wrong body; a body ruined by drug-use, trapped in a dead-end life as the lowest possible form of apprentice in a massive sect. But all this doesn't faze Booker. He's got a positive attitude, and when he looks into the mountains he sees a climb waiting for him. Better yet, he has the assistance of a magical book that will help him craft any pill in existence perfectly - a skill alchemists would fight and die for. With his skills in crafting, his patient soul, and his relentlessly upbeat attitude, Booker is climbing the first of many mountains.

Very well written xanxia with human characters. It follows some tropes but keeps it interesting and with good pacing. There isn't any instant rise to power, crushing of rivals or harem gathering so it won't hit the instant wish fulfillment that some Royal Road readers are looking for but I like the more measured plot and heart felt struggle the author is taking us through. There is time taken to paint out details and have a deeper examination of the characters and world but events still happen quickly. I think its one of the best written xanxia stories I've come across and hope the author keeps it going.

This is one the most compelling stories I've read on RR. The main characters transportation to this world is mysterious. The book and the Master. I wanna know more! I love the alchemy and medicine focus. Not much world building yet, but we are getting hints. I just wish the author wrote faster!

One of the best xianxia stories I've read so far. There's not much here at the time of this review, but this seems to be a very unique take on transmigration in a xianxia novel. I especially like how much emphasis the author puts on character development, and on how reasonably strong the main characters 'cheat' is. He didn't instantly leap to becoming an immortal god, as is commonly seen in xianxia stories of this type, but is instead using it to make steady progress, with real risks that he has to take. The relationships among the 'cripples' and between the 'cripples' and the rest of the sect is really interesting to read about.I'm really excited to see where this story goes in the future.

So far 5/5. Too many good novels get dropped by the author, please don't abandon.Story has good world building, character development, and tempo. Grammer is not lacking, and it pulls together into quite an enjoyable read. The crafting system is intuitive, though I feel it currently lacks the depth to be a staple for the series for a long period of time, however that is easily rectified by advancement.Note to the author, the introduction of positive and negative traits to be formularized is a great idea, but it's too focused for complexity. Expansion could simply be trait interaction (types of traits that interact with different or similar types), or simply an added variable for trait aspect (Metal Aspect trait interacts multiplicatively with Lightning aspect trait). I suspect you know this, and have plans... But I mention it none the less.

Interesting MC.  Starting from rock bottom with a great attitude.Alchemy type MC cheat power with no cultivation to start with. So far this story reminds me a little bit of Beware of Chicken. I particularly liked the non-cultivators dueling thru proxy beasts.  Gotta catch them all?Looking forward to seeing where it all goes.

This is a more slow burn than your regular cultivator stories, but with enough tension to keep it interesting. There are a plethora of characters introduced, which makes me wonder how many will recur through the story. This is a well written story, with a main character that offers a different perspective on the murder-hobo lifestyle of cultivators, while being essentially cultivator adjacent. I am saddened to find that I have already read through the current chapters, and must now wait for the drip feed! Great work!

Currently on Chapter 7 and added to my follow list, promising start and I'm curious to see where story goes, character is likeable, and crafting cultivation seems to be very interesting and clear.Give it a read, definitely worth checking out if you're into cultivation novels and crafting focused novels!

What stood out the most to me from the very start is that reading this story, the pictures the author painted with their words felt like watching a Dr. Strange movie -- live action in a fantastical setting that was always meant to be live action. Most of the xianxia stories I've read, period (not just in Royal Road), have felt like watching amine: comically exaggerated, even when trying to be serious.
I gave 5☆ for all the advanced reviews because this story has been really well crafted. While there has been a typo here and there, they are nearly unnoticeable and the proofing has been on par with or better than many of the traditionally published books on my shelves.
The characters have their archetypes, but they have reasons for fitting into their archetypes as well as aspects that pull them back from simple typecasting, which is always a plus.
More, as much as I hate the keep your mouth shut about transmigrating trope,
there is actually a sound rational the MC uses to arrive at their decisions, and that process of going through their options shows up frequently.
Getting to chapter 14 has taken me about 4 hours of reading and I devour books, so meaty chapters.
Also, Snips needs more screen time. What good is a story mascot if it doesn't get enough of a chance to shine?
