Description

Levi was once the servant of Death itself. For years, he fulfilled his duties well, eliminating arcane threats to the world. Sadly, his final task held a terrible cost. Burdened by his actions, he retired to a life of solitude, wanting to live out the rest of his days in peace. But one day Death returns – not to reap his soul, but to offer a blessing. The chance to reincarnate into another world, one where no one knows his name. Levi accepts. Though, he doesn't expect to awaken in the body of a failure: a disgraced noble son, disinherited as heir and on the verge of expulsion from the Institute of Ascension. It seems Death decided to leave some things out... He's perfectly fine with that, though. Let the nobles sneer. Levi was gifted a whole new life, and this time, he intends to live it as an adventure.A younger sister who hates him? He'll just have to become the best older brother one can be. A prodigious Sword Saint who's forced to pair up with him for the Ascension Trials? He'll show her the relentless magic of an archmage. An impending cataclysmic threat to the world? Please. That's just another Tuesday. This world better prepare, because a new player just entered the field, and he's playing for keeps. Now, if only he can figure out how to level up past level 14... --- Updates MWF

While the setup is quite familiar, the author's strength in writing allows the story to surpass it's premise. Characters, motivations, dialogue, plot- it's all there.Levi is an interesting protagonist whose past believably informs his present emotional state. The potential for growth as he discovers his new world is vast. The looming threat presents an appreciable long term goal that neither gets in the plot's way nor feels beyond the horizon.I look forward to more outside POVs, especially as the main cast grows. The author has a strong sense of personality for each character. Their voices really feel unique to them. I hope the author considers a future where Levi can't solve everything himself and must rely on others. The story is too engrossing and deserves longevity that an absolutely OP hero can't provide.Minor character development suggestion:Develop your female characters a little more. Damsels are boring.

Quite a few novels make me laugh.
Yes, the author could explain less and keep it more concise. But as this is well, a novel on royal road, I do prefer to be reminded sometimes, considering this will be a weekly/bi-weekly release. Might feel overwrought if you read it back to back, but on a slower pace - it's nice.
It's not a mystery novel, it's as description entails an OP MC litrpg - so a comedy.

This one hooked me faster than most “OP second life” stories because it actually has friction. Levi isn’t just strong, he’s boxed in: a weaker body, a reputation he has to navigate, and a world that reacts to what he does instead of politely stepping aside.
The tone is a great mix of dark and dry. The Death angle gives the early chapters flavor and tension, and the humor feels character-driven rather than meme-y. What I like most is the pacing: it builds confidence and payoff without sprinting straight to “unstoppable god mode,” so every step forward still feels earned.
If you enjoy competent MCs, clean writing, and an OP premise that still respects stakes, this is an easy 5/5.

    As the title suggests ....
Honestly a great start to a series. It's not like he's a OP max level guy showing off for noobs against noobs all the time. He fights opponents of his level.
The story is well made. The characters are well on the way to be fleshed out.
There is a little bit of damsel in distress going on but honestly I'll take it. It's that good

What a great story! Humor in unexpected but appropriate spots. The plot is not too complicated nor fragmented. The fight scenes are very well crafted neither overblown nor glossed over.Levi is a little clueless when it comes to interpersonal relationships with "normal" people. It's funny at times and sad at other times. He's learning slowly...I'm looking forward to much more.

It’s a good book, is it ground breaking in the genre? No, but the characters have a great dynamic, the main character has a believable drawback. Last but not least, it’s funny, the dialogue doesn’t feel forced, I read it all in one go and caught up. 10/10 highly recommend

The writing is incredibly smooth: like I haven't found many other authors on RR that are around the same level.
The plot is also quite interesting: MC being the servant of death and then thrust into a world where people are on 'easy mode' in terms of magic.
At one point the MC complains about everyone having the system and not having access to it (atm)
I think the author does a really good job balancing the power the MC has while also acknowledging that the character's body is too weak to do what he wants to it (to start with, I have a feeling that later on his body will be up to the challenge)
The main character is also very believable, he isn't like the best person ever, but he isn't a jerk. I look forward to him enjoying life more instead of dwelling on his past mistakes.
The MC's also funny, I like that.

I went into this book with a bit of scepticism for the typical OP MC style, but was pleasantly surprised. I would recommend this book if you are looking for something new. It's well written, engaging and has likeable characters. The main character seems like a somewhat grounded character, with the side characters also seeming like they have room to grow later in the book.Dry/witty humor and a story that feels well paced so far have made me binge whats currently out & waiting for more.

After reading a whole bunch of these stories, you can just tell when one will get to the rising stars, and I'm glad I was right
It's soon to tell where the story will be going, but from the little touches like the protagonist's reputation and the fact he can't use his entire power; the heavy-handed way a guy tried to bully him away from service and the glazing of his teacher and other mages, it's clear the author is trying to keep the story balanced and make Levi work his ass off to reach the levels he had before. No easy wins is a rare thing in power fantasies here, which is definitely a plus for me
We're only now getting the hints of the actual plot in this new world, but so far, everything related to Levi - his background, banter and magic - is great. Here's hoping the rest of the cast will be as good in time. The only things that I can think of that could've been handled better were bits of exposition here and there (I wouldn't mind getting them over time instead of, say, his teacher's entire heroic past and feats crammed in a few paragraphs) but overall they're pretty minor complaints
