Description

Theron Valecrest is trapped in more ways than one.

Two-hundred years after the Great Collapse, giant beasts, dangerous magical anomalies, and profoundly powerful beings roam the newly magical world. It's too dangerous to leave the haven cities into which humanity retreated. Theron longs to escape out into the world and escape his once powerful but declining family that tries to drag him into their machinations and power struggles.

At the forefront of humanity's struggle to push back the hostile environment are the Adepts, those who have gained the ability to use magic after the Great Collapse. Powerful figures that overturned the old power structure, they expand the boundaries of human influence and knowledge once again.

Theron, as newly awakened Adept, quickly learns that freedom isn't as easy to grasp as he once thought. The rules of society and the world are different. He must overcome obstacles, both mundane and magical, and take an active role in beating back the threats to humanity as he spreads his wings in this new world.

What to Expect:This story will be slow burn and deliberate. It has a plot, but sometimes it will meander. There is action, but it's not long drawn out action and isn't the primary focus. The main focus will be exploration, adventure, and possibly some kingdom building. Weak to Strong MC. Many progression elements. The magic system is a sort of soft cultivation system, but hopefully not one that you're familiar with.
