Description
When the sword awakens, its slept so long that it has forgotten everything but hunger. It is a weapon made to feast on death and blood, and the more bodies that it leaves in its wake, the stronger it gets. Bloodstained Blade is a fantasy gamelit, where the main character is the blade, and not the person wielding it. So, expect the wielder of the blade to die occasionally and be replaced with another man or monster as the Ebon Blade pursues its own goals no matter the cost. Expect:Upgrades, plot twists, new wielders, numbers to go up, violence, and revenge. Updates:Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday.

- HaveRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've read far too many stories about wacky novels having a teapot that can fly for no reason other than a skill. This one is different, it has some deep lore and great worldbuilding with the right amount of evil for a sword of its reputation.
Binged and did not regret. - Cardguy5Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love the idea of this story, usually with cursed swords the protag has to weigh the benefits of the power the sword gives them to the cost of said power, but in this story we get to peer into the mind of said cursed sword. Also i really really like how the story is progressing.I would usually spoil a story here but i wont with this one because the reason why i was so enraptured by the twist in the chapter im on is because I didn’t see it coming, im sure someone saw it coming but i didnt, and most of the comments said they saw something like this being revealed but not to the extent that it turned out to be.again i am so tempted to spoil the story but i shall refrain from doing so.
- Happy AppleRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Pretty good. I’ve seen this theme of sentient swords, armor, a table, etc but always thought it would be a bland read. The author tho proved me wrong. He does a good job at making the story come alive and portrays the emotions of the characters well which makes us readers really attached to the story.
- DarkCellOneRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is an amazing litrpg, I would highly recommend it to people who like really satisfying progress that doesn’t seem too fast and definitely isn’t slow at all. I love how the blade changes its handlers over the course of the story because each new “owner” brings a new perspective on the world and on the blades mind.
- Dead_SlimeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So, I’ve read ahead on Patreon but I won’t spoil anything here and will only be going off of the RR content. But to some up this story in a sentence:
Sentient evil sword which while evil does have some rules and boundaries towards its evil.
Style : If you’ve read Tenebroum it’s written similar to that with it being rather grim and brutal. But unlike Tenebroum it’s much more focused on what’s happening to the sword over the consequences of its actions over a wide area.
Story : While we haven’t really gotten into it yet D.Winchester does include foreshadowing about the swords origins and has started adding on the details which make the world feel alive. With events progressing independent of the sword and its wielder.
Character : An evil blood thirsty sword which while incentivised towards violence is very much naturally violent. But has its own pride though is willing to be pragmatic depending on the circumstances. Leading from that its cunning and not just a violent nut job only seeking blood (though it would do that anyway) its willing to manipulate and deceive to achieve its goals.
Grammar : Overall very good especially compared to most on the site. With D.Winchester being active in fixing spelling when edits are suggested.
Overall : While not an original concepts of a sentient object it has D.Winchesters dark spin on it and doesn’t hold back on violence and deceit (much better than other attempts I’ve seen at this, let that stupid vending machine stay in the darkest alley of Japan’s inner city). I would recommend reading I you enjoyed Tenebroum or enjoy scheming protagonists and so nots good, good old violence.
Good luck reading if you choose to and I hope to see this story thrive! - DeathwingminionRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really love BloodstainedBladeand probably one of my favorite ongoing stories so far. The story is completely different, because main character is not human but instead a demonic sword. it is sentient, but doesn't remember where it came from or what it is.At first, it just want blood and fighting. It becomes strong when it kills and eats their blood and souls, it continues to become more powerful with every death. the concept is very good and I really like how every new wielder use the sword differently in their own way, and how every one have a different and a new story to tell. But the sword remains always the same. which is indifferent, cold, and only cares about gaining power. As the story progresses, it changes after learning more about itself...it really good, trying not to spoil it, but i think i really love the backstory of how it came to be.The story is dark sometimes, but in a very cool way. so far, there's no boring part, there's always something happening. I just want more when I read it and want to know more about what happens next.Worldbuilding: the world in the story is big and has magic, monsters, and of course, dragons. Everything is usually as you expect in a high fantasy.Writing is easy to read, not too hard. I don’t see a mistake in grammar, it looks good.Give it a try, I promise you, you will not waste your time on it. highly recommended
- AnotherBagOfPlumsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0We've seen villainous protagonists. We've seen protagonists with cursed swords. We've even seen monstrous protagonists. I don't think we've ever seen a cursed sword as the protagonist. This story does a phenomenal job making the Ebon Blade a twisted, bloodthirsty monster, while still giving it a strong, clear moral code, especially in the way it cares (or more often so far, doesn't care) about it's wielders. It gives the story a wicked edge, while also giving the reader something to latch onto. Huh, kind of reminds me of something...
- Faded_OutlineRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a story worth reading for the premise alone, made better by the flawless execution of both style and substance to this point.
Beginning with literally no sensory input and only slowly awakening to the idea of having a perspective in the first place is an extremely effective method for scene and setting development. The reader learns about the story world and rules at (mostly) the same pace as the main character, and gets enough detail about the succession of wielders to create a robust picture of their positions in it before their usefulness comes to an end.
Every human or creature presented thus far acts based on entirely understandable motives that extend beyond evil for its own sake. And this extends most pointedly to the weapon itself; being with it from the beginning the reader gets to see how its acts are directed with pure goal-oriented amorality... I do wonder if at some point the weapon will find greater benefit in acting towards less destructive ends and find itself changing. Likely not though. It is a sword, and one who is well aware of the purpose of a sword. - FloraHeart897Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0First, I want to say this is phenomenally well written. My understanding is that it is similar to the author’s other Villain MC work. If that’s not your cup of tea, or you don’t care for descriptions of violence, this isn’t for you. It is as tasteful as something with this topic can be. However, it earns its dark descriptor.
If that’s what you’re after, read on. If you like a good villain redemption arc, this story is not for you (or me). - JDayRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great story, good MC, a sword lit-rpg very original and will be a great read. I finished it and want more, give me more books, more hosts of the sword. This review is to give congratulations to the author and hopefully increase the chances of a second book. And to try reaching more people and allow this great story to grow
