Description

I hate spoilers. Sounds innocent enough, right? Well, my hatred runs abnormally deep. Knowing information ahead of time taints the experience in a profound way even if it’s ‘harmless’ like, “You’ll enjoy the ending.” Already, I can start narrowing down the likely outcomes. Unfortunately, (or fortunately) most people don’t share this same disgust, not to the same level. Who’s to say which perspective is better? I have my view so that’s how I’m starting this description. I can promise this story will continue to be improved, though I do hope its quality is already above average. I’ll also promise that it will continue far into the future, even if it’s not particularly popular. If you’re like me, I dare you to stop here, start reading, and enjoy the ride. Otherwise…

Many are the paths taken in life, branching into the infinite. Progress, regret, mistakes, joy, discovery, pain. They all adorn the intersections. This is a story of two specific paths, and as such, we must start near the beginning. Otherwise, why would the destination matter? The material they tread upon is Alyndor, a dangerous fantasy world with pockets of peace. Beasts will be challenged, secrets uncovered, friends gained and lost. The intersections don’t matter though. Not in of themselves. Which turn is taken and why, that’s what matters. There’s a richness to those choices and my responsibility is to paint them as best I’m able. Not with a brush, not even the pen…no, I paint in ideas. If I can draw them across the canvas of your mind, not to influence but rather, to share them in a way that transcends human language. If I can do that…I’ll rest each night, in bliss.

Chapters will each be 2-3k words, released on M-W-F.

Plot: The plot is deftly woven, gradually revealing layers of complexity through the lens of a compelling coming-of-age tale. The characters face convincing challenges, motivated by solid goals. One of them discovers special abilities during a ritualistic rite of passage, opening the door to exciting adventures to come.
Grammar: The grammar is truly excellent, with flawless sentence structure and a superb command of language that allows for total immersion. Perhaps a few overly long sentences could have been tightened up slightly, but this is a very minor issue.
Style: The narrative style is vivid, with strong descriptive passages that propel the action at a well-balanced pace, crafting moments of tension and relief expertly.
Characters: The characters are the true standout, each distinct and utterly convincing, with personalities that evolve organically. Their choices and actions are credibly motivated by their individual journeys and arcs.
This is an engrossing story that transports the reader to a richly mysterious world, while deftly exploring universal themes in an original way. The protagonist's discovery of special powers through an ancient rite opens up thrilling new narrative possibilities. A must-read for anyone who appreciates deep, meticulously crafted narratives, though the pace may feel slightly uneven at a few points.

concisely: i quite like the story(so far), evokes many feelings and quite easily sympathize with the feelings the characters do, world feels real and lifelike including the people
style: disliked the multiple main characters at first, but the writing parallels for them feel like they work really well, no issues reading/comprehending due to the authors style
story: both a lot and not much has happened at this point in it.. but the not much feeling may be largely due to running out of story to read, the lot can be due to the difficulties the main characters have went through so far
grammar: haven't noticed a single issue with grammar in the whole time i was reading, no missing words, no misplaced ones
character: everyone seems to have their own goals and values and beliefs, not just cardboard cutouts or stuff
