I enjoy a lot of the stories written in this Universe. It's always lighthearted and engaging, and doesn't follow the typical wish-fulfilment storyline that seems to be typical for most stories in this genre.A little more polish on specific scenes could be nice, but it's RR, so this definitely deserves 5 stars.Well done, OP.

Very interesting premise with the layered games where the cards can be used for both a traditional card game as well as MMO abilities. The main character is analytical and it is a perfect match for his MMO abilities which require careful planning to make sure that he doesn't run out of cards before defeating all the enemies. This is particularly necessary as he is in a situation where he must keep his class/abilities secret from other players as well as the mysterious antagonists in the background of the gameThe card game itself seems to be well thought out and references well-known mechanics and terminology of existing real competitive card games. A high degree of planning is evident in the card game showing the author is really thinking it throat.Having chapters include actual card art is a nice treat! On the side of areas for improvement I think the character side of things is a bit weak. Due to his social seclusion and needing to keep his abilities secret there is very little human interaction besides quick trades with other players. This limits how much we can see of his personality. As far as side characters go there are none of interest so far making it a one man show. Having more rivals/allies would make the world feel more real and give more depth.I hope things develop in that direction and that the current state is just a symptom of the MC's trauma rather than the way the story will always be.

I've really enjoyed this series so far. The beginning really makes you care about the MC, understanding their flaws and sympathizing with them as well. Even though he's stubborn, he's willing to adapt and change, which you love to see in a MC, especially if they don't spend 75% of the book thinking they're infallible.
We just saw the first game, and it was so much fun. MC felt clever but had a believable strategy, with a kind of early Yu-Gi-Oh vibe to it, that made it easy to follow along. I can't wait for more, to see how the character develops their deck and how they interact with this VR world.

Great story! I’ve loved all three of these stories in this universe. Each has a different gaming mechanism and they have amazing worlds built behind them. Need more words… cards, chaos, funny laughs, great characters. I can’t wait to see where this story goes! Eagerly awaiting this and any other stories from this author.

It isa fairly fun read, not too complex and not bad writing.  It is a card novel story and has pics and doesnt have any profanity.  Thanks for the writing!  I really like the worldbuilding and character you as an author create.  Its ingenious the character types they came out really well.

Just like their other stories, this looks to be a really good story about turning life's next corner, just like Hidden Class: Handyman, with a really interesting MC, and a class that would find some people absolute joy in an MMO.
My only gripe is that getting the MC to the namesake hidden class feels a little contrived, but it's more than worth overlooking.

I am a fan of the author’s other novels, and this one is no different. It has an interesting main character that goes through the world with a purpose. The card game this novel houses is unique and has significant potential for strategy while still being easy to understand. I am excited to see where the story goes.

This story is about a gamer who's favorite game is being shut down. This game is his last link to his best friend who died and not being able to play it kills him but he has to move on.So now we will have to play a new game and try to make enough money to take care of his sick mom.I really like this story. The machines of both the card game and the deep dive game are good. The real world feels different and well thought out. Also, the cards are really fun. But all of that is not what makes this a great storie, Deckard is.Deckard feels real. He has real everyday problems. He had real weight on his life and his soul. His motivations are clear and believable. We the readers can connect with his way of thinking and follow his choices. This is a great read. An orange well worth the squeeze.PS I think we need a second character for him to bounce off of. Maybe a girl who knows a lot about the game. Maybe someone who he new before and liked. Justva thought

If you're looking for a clean, fun read including: collectible card games, virtual reality games, immersive role playing games, coming of age, futuristic technology, heartbreaking and heartwarming scenes... then you've come to right place.
This is the author's third novel set in the same universe; this one set further ahead in the timeline from the others. The author has promised cameos from characters in their other stories.
Note also, this is not the author's first novel on cards. They have also written a different novel that incorporates cards and photography. The author also strives to read and respond to most neutral or better comments, and requests feedback from readers to improve their craft.
This novel scratches all the usual itches for me: numbers go up (and it's corollary: status screen gets long), human feel, immersive VR MMORPG, character growth, believable. Come read for fun, and stay for "one more chapter"!

I really love  cassioferreira's VR universe. If you've read his handyman and pasifist books I'm sure you will also enjoy this one. The story contains both turn based(mini games) and real time combat. There is a good balance between cards as personal skills but also allows for proper deck building while keeping the story easy to follow. The MC is a bit of a completionist when it comes to collecting. Which is lucky because as it turns out there is a direct link between his strength and number of cards.
Illustrations are beautiful adds something little extra to the book.
I highly reccomend this so far, and reads well even if you aren't into turn based combat.
