Description
Tired of the old afterlife? Bored of eternal torment, fire, and brimstone? Well, you’re not alone—apparently, the gods are, too. To shake things up, they’ve scrapped the standard “endless agony for all” and replaced it with something...different. Welcome toEternia: a brutal, glitch-riddled wilderness where new souls are dumped with little hope of survival. Make it here, or end up back in the classic hell as a consolation prize. Enter Ellie, who dies just in time to beta-test the gods’ twisted new system. Freshly arrived and utterly unprepared, she’s tossed into a world where everything seems out to kill her—or just glitch out before she can figure out what it’s supposed to do. Ellie quickly realizes that her “next life” is more of a do-or-die nightmare than any kind of second chance.Or at least it would be, if she weren’t a closeted fan of the genre she’s been thrown into. Armed with nothing but her wits and a reluctant sense of humour, Ellie must navigate the hostile landscape, outwit overly aggressive wildlife, and maybe, just maybe, survive long enough to find some purpose in this cosmic mess. But in a world designed for divine entertainment—and where the rules are still being written—anything could and probably will happen. Will she conquer the wilds of Eternia, or will she learn that the only thing worse than hell is the constant struggle to escape it? Join Ellie as she stumbles, fights, and glitches her way through eternity’s most chaotic afterlife. What to expect: Non-Human Protagonist Weak to Strong MC with very fast progression early on Magic system exploration (What even is Mana?) Crafting Focused Main Character Sociopathic Main Character who still craves connections with people. No insanely long fight scenes that drag out to the point of boredom Inspired by works like Primal Hunter, Azarinth Healer, and A Budding Scientist In A Fantasy World From the author ofWanderer of Dust! I have read all the chapters in one sitting I hurt so bad :) - CoolGuy2952Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Love this goofy ass story about an orb girl and her chaotic life full of bugs made by an overworked imp by accident. Our mc so far has only spent 4 days in this world. It is so jam packed with fighting, engineering, and chaos that it was a very enjoyable read. I hope that others can experience the pure joy of this unique series written by a fantastic author
- AzathRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I’m a terrible reviewer, but I have to write a review because this story is great! The world- and System-building in this series is amazing, I love the effect that MC’s golemoid species has on their build, and the other characters are also shaping up to very interesting as well. The MC’s character is great and fun to read! The only real downsides to the story for me is that it can be hard to keep up with the terminology and what’s going on, and POV switches can be a bit jarring for the first 2-3 paragraphs.
- DuneslayaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a fun jaunt through hell. The characters are fun and the story is great. Things are believable and relatable with lots of good times to be had. Did personally get a little confused about an important characters gender (Li), and there are some very minor mistakes in grammer. But those feel like nit picks because there is not much else to critique. I do have a major gripe that there isn't more, but the content they do have still kept me engaged an entire day reading over. In fact I'm jumping into it again now to enjoy over again.
This is now gonna be me mostly gushing to fill the minimum word count. For example the world is well thought out and designed, with clear rules and motivations for people to act in what ways they have. Even the God's have motivations for why they are doing what they do. And most importantly everyone has believable flaws, some of which are only contextual. Another is the rate of growth is nice in both consistent ways, both between people of the same "level" and those between levels which makes each choice much more believable. Giving context for why the MC doesn't get uber overpowered immediately but is still inordinately strong.
In conclusion of what might as well have been a fever dream of a review, it's great fun and I highly recommend. - EeveeusedflyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am absolutely loving this story so far. It contains a lot of fresh interpretations on classic concepts like having a system, what the afterlife is, how mana works, etc. The writing is great, and the author does a great job of making each character feel different from each other with how they speak. Im always excited to see what happens next!
- EiferRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So, my review is going to be very subjective. If I had the skills to point out the technical reasons why I don't enjoy this story, I'd probably have given it fewer stars. On the other hand, I don't want to punish a story with the scoring system that objectively isn't actually bad.I feel like there's too many things left implied or hinted at. I understand the need to create threads and plot points for future story development, but leaving the answers behind personality changes and memory issues to be solved "later" isn't enjoyable for me. It's just frustrating.Additionally, it feels like the MC is starring as the ball in a episode of beach ball. Being punted every which way for seemingly random reasons, on top of apparent important people losing their critical thinking skills. There's an attempt at making the the glitchy nature of the world humorous, but to me it just falls flat and feels like a slapstick comedy. This very chapter perfectly illustrated that. Now, for the positives.I'm not sure if the MC's powers and species is actually unique, but I can't recall off the top of my head having seen one with such a species and skill combination before. She took to both pretty fast and showed a great aptitude for it, which made it fun to read about her skills and her progression through that. She feels very independent and mentally strong. Not wishy washy. Makes a decision and works towards it. How that will pan out with future "human" interactions, I have no idea, considering events in the story that made changes to her.The world and the system didn't feel like anything special. If you've read a handful of LITRPG, then you've probably seen both or similar before. The uniqueness being left to the individual zones. To me however, that was reassuring. I like something familiar, which I why I read LITRPG in the first place. Who doesn't like some gaming?Anyway, to cap off.. I guess this is a good story for people that don't put a lot of weight on suspension of disbelief? To me
- Bercans2Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0A very interesting story with a fun main character and an intriguing plot!
This story contains no boring parts, with high quality fighting, adventuring, power system and everything else, covering fascinating and humorous concepts constantly. It has a very unique premise and expands on it beautifully, delivering exceptional quality consistently across its chapters.
very good. - Napalm078Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0A pretty neat story :). Of course, in the way that it's a good story. Lotta mess happening to the main character.Speaking of which, Ellie is sent to the afterlife, in which she is informed in pretty certain terms that this is hell (hell doesn't discriminate, doesn't matter if she was good or not, really), and the bingo selection of infinite tortures gives her the 'chance' to join in on the beta test of Eternia, which if I recall is what the title is refers to.Of course, dying in Eternia will get you sent right back into the other eternal tortures they have set up, so unless you can grab that immortality there, you're very doomed. With a main character that already had differing brain functions, as well as gets more impacted from another few sources (one permanent at least), it is a very different MC indeed that we're shadowing.Hopefully nobody important dies (or gets their soul thrown through the plane of infinite pain again), and all the readers can understand there's usually a reason people act certain ways. It's a pretty good novel, yeah. Show support for the author, because they're awesome. Might as well set this as an advanced review since I've already written this much XD. Just all 5 stars because RR stats and some users make it hard for authors.
- NarcCSSRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's always a pleasure finding a new story like this one, something different from the standard, the imperfections of the system, the progressive growing of the protagonist's power and the "technical heavy chapters", they all add to the experience. The battles are also really good, but the world/character development is by far my favorite part here. Keep up the good work author, and sorry for any misspelling, english isn't my first language.
- PurveilorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Did some beta reading for this story. I binged all the available (25~ at the time) chapters when asked for critique on just the first 10!
This was a novel take on isekai litrpg. Hell created another reality to torture for their entertainment and Ellie's just as willing to dish it out. You can tell the author knows their way around the litrpg genre and really wanted to make something both familiar and unique at the same time.
Her abilities and crafting sections aren't something I'm familiar with reading about, but I found it interesting without impacting the flow of the story.
The side characters are quirky, unique and chaotic. I get as excited for their chapters as our resident sociopath Ellie and her snarky quips.
If there is one concern, it’s that the author has a few major plotlines building that would be the central theme of other stories. So far they've been handled well but I do want to see how the author will land them before judging. Will update when we get past those points.
Update at 60: Looking good so far!
Grammar and sentence structure was never an issue with pretty much no spelling errors. Definitely a grade above most RR stories.
All in all, very promising and I’m interested in seeing what Ellie ends up doing.
