A Cat, a Thief, and a Wizard

Description
I was taken, swiped right out of my world. My memories too. Just pop and gone, all of it. Stolen. Now here I am in crazy magic land and I don't even know what my name was. Oh, and I'm not even human anymore, that's gone too. But I’ve found this kid who’s going to magic school. And now I’m his ‘familiar’ so that means I go to class too. Magic is amazing, right? It can fix anything. So if I learn it I can even fix my inability to effing talk because I’m an effing cat. Sorry, I shouldn’t be so salty about that. I kinda like being a cat. Mostly. Magic is amazing. Until it goes missing. Chapters average 2k words with one or two chapters a week. The cat swears. A lot. This is a dual POV story. This story is posted here on RoyalRoad and on ScribbleHub. Thank you for reading.

Amazing story
Characters are well flushed out and have you rooting for them
Long chapters for lots of fun stuff to happen that keeps you on the edge of your phone / computer screen
Can't wait to see where this story goes, it's instantly become my favorite story.
I highly recommend you to check out this story and follow along with this fluffy sassy kitty as they go on a journey to discover who they are and what they want to be in a world of magic.
....well apparently advanced reviews require 200 words so ....
I'm just going to gibberish the rest... feel free to ignore the rest of this review as it's just going to be me rambling on and on until I can hit the 200 mark so I can post a review on this wonderful story that I just so so so adore and can't wait for more of it
Still not at 200 hmmm well it should be coming to that mark soon ish
Nope still not there sigh why royal road why
Can we give the website a review to many drop this requirement down to....oh I don't know, maybe 100 words? That sounds much more reasonable - Teri BRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So, this is my first book on Royal Road, it won't be my last. I had planned to read 2 chapters a night, but got drawn in by the well written characters and imaginative world building and finished chapter 5 before I realized it was way past my bedtime. I'm looking forward to future chapters and more stories from MistOverSnow.
- MVVRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Hard to praise the novel without spoilers , but let's give it a go.
First off, dual viewpoint is hard to do right, and here is done quite good, doesn't disrupt the flow of the narration, something I'm really grateful for.
Second, the paired protagonists pull it off great, narrative-wise. Can't fault the dual viewpoints of what is happening in front of them. So far (early chapters), it's a bit frustrating the communication failures but that's part of the plot, so I'll have to learn to enjoy it.
There are some bits of information lacking, things that the protagonist know and mention in passing that should be important to info-dump previously, but hopefuly it will be back-filled later, no great inconsistencies so far.
I'm greatly surprised by this novel so far, started rating it a 4.5 after 2 chapters , but upping it to 5, as it is something I would heartly recommend to read. I may ammend this after I binge-read it , but so far , so good. - Isa BayfieldRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This plot drew me in from the first page. The cat perspective is so much fun. Well-written, nicely flowing plot. Very likeable characters. I expect very much from this story.
I have decided to add more and more along with progress in the plot.
So, some mysterious ongoings have come up. Good idea to bring this to the story. And Cat, of course, would very much like to learn more.
She has such good comments on stuff, I absolutely love it. Makes this story so much fun to read. - LibelRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Great start! Love the cat character. Truly sounds like the best reincarnation possible. We are heading to a nice magical academy type novel at present. Easy to read and follow with nice enough prose. The world building is interesting so far. Overall solid story. Extra words blah blah blah ouf
- DefectivebyDesignRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The characters and writing is pretty good. The mystery part is rather annoying, being the infinitely drawn out kind that strings you along without resolving anything, any clue only leads to another question, even though resolving things in steps would solve the annoyance, and if this follows the string out model it will be all resolved unsatisfactorily in one mass info dump ending, and you'll want more character development but nope the mystery was the whole story and having any sort of conclusion ends the novel. You won't enjoy reading this for that, you'll be reading it for the characters, and then be annoyed with how much you're being strung along because the story is structured around a mystery without resolving anything, giving you brief glimpses of something important then being immediately glossed over. The main people investigating are kids investigating a massive conspiracy that professional authorities should be handling yet aren't, and the kids are massively incompetent. Not useless, but they're kids, not professionals who appear to be doing nothing, and the kids are easily distracted or misled. They're NOT Sherlock Holmes, or even Scooby-Doo, and because nothing gets resolved you get annoyed at the constant mystery dragging, and only care what they're going to do otherwise because that's the only part that actually goes anywhere. Which frankly is the biggest reason why you'll keep reading, and when the mystery ends you'll be annoyed there's not a massive war and they don't get a conclusion arc. IDK, 60+ chapters barely any mystery progress except crumbs that aren't any milestone, and the story is being completely carried by the characters and their slice of life development. It's just annoying to be constantly reminded there's a mystery plot that doesn't progress anywhere, which could be solved by either showing some progress, or stop injecting reminders there's this mystery that goes nowhere, then progressing when it needs to with focus.
- KarasaphRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I'm Not Sure If that Kind of Story ist my Cup of Tea, but I do enjoy the Main characters. There are Backstories and Personal stuff lingering around and Seth even picks Up a few bullies already. And the Cat Stands Out and Made me smile quite often.
The fact that Out isekaid Protagonist doesn't remember His life really makes it easy to Focus on this world. And the Cat is so adorable.

So the part on top got me two likes and now that I read to the current chapter 61 I can say that the worldbuilding, magic and story make sense. It's actually funny, adorable and mysterious all at the same time.
I read too much manga where the progagonists just learn magic that is just intuitive and shouldn't need a school. This world... if you want to know see spoilers, but the reason is why I actually enjoy this school themed novel so much
when there are no connection between the spells, every spellcast is different and so many spells are lost or not known... It just makes sense to got o school when you have to learn each spell individually. And then there are different mana types, storage types and usage types. It's all well thought out!
The progagonists are very intelligent, sometimes I wonder if they are kids. But they are kids and kids make dumb decisions.
The story is like a ball of snow rolling down the hill. More and more gets picked up by the plot and the cat keeps it entertaining. The comedy in the tags is well deserved as it got me chuckling quite a few times.
If you are looking for a read with lots of adventure, cool friendships, intrigues and good antagonists, this is a story for you. And on top of that, there is still the mystery about the isekai part, but that part of the story hasn't really been touched yet.
It's a worthwhile read. I never thought I will enjoy this, but I was wrong. The author is also amazing, so it's worth your time. - CatgurlRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Good story. Good pacing. No filler. Good spelling, grammar and prose.
The MC is sweet but naive and stupid. MC's brother is sweet and somewhat smart, but also somewhat stupid; both are young and inexperienced. Cat thinks she is smart; she is certainly smarter than the two young boys. Benjamin is totally creepy and feels quite evil. Feels off that Simon has not picked up on that, even when hinted at by his brother. Very annoying that Simon and his brother do not communicate clearly and directly and I can see trouble coming from that. Some scary serious undertones of betrayal and treachery.
Decent amount of action. Very skilled prose; Author understands the power of show, rather than tell, and there are no pointless verbose or florid passages.
Well written magic academy adventure tale. Worth a read. - CrowTalksRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0A good story for a younger audience, no exaggeration! And for those who can read it all when all the volumes/books come out. Seriously, if you're 13-18, have a lot of free time, and want to escape reality, this novel is for you.
The cat's POV is beautifully written, and kept me invested in the story for 32 chapters. If only that POV was the main one...
The second protagonist is a typical teenager. There's nothing special about him, he's just a juvenile moron and pushover who can be easily agitated and made to forget about everything except the problem right in front of him. In other words, this makes him an underdog and a type that is easily understood by any of us, but also a protagonist who causes a lot of frustration for the reader.
Key themes of the story:
1. Broken communication, which causes half of the problems
2. You can't trust adults
3. Every little thing in everyday life can be a mysterious clue leading to a bigger secret
4. Teenagers are looking for their place in a big and complex world
5. Friendship, falling in love and awkwardness in relationships with others
Features:
1. There is enough dynamics and action, and not every minute of every day is described by the author - there are time skips where it is needed, but still it feels like the pace of development is slow. Expect a very long story.
2. The author loves suspense and mystery, and before you have time to digest one, they throw you new reasons to worry about the characters.
3. Mana, dungeons, beast waves, reincarnation, familiars, an absurd and supposedly medieval world - everything seems standard, absolutely nothing new, but at the same time, the author manages to present it all in such a way that it becomes interesting to figure it out
The combination of all these factors, as well as teenage themes, makes reading this story a torture for me. I'm too old for this shit.
Can I just read about how a cat learns magic and steals food? - WeldtRoyal Road★★★ 3.0I don't very much like the book and that is mostly Seth's fault.
Characters are well written and story is structured and promising but I just can't deal with naive main characters I very much enjoyed the cat and other characters and all but I just can't stand Seth.
Can't complain about anything in the story it has great atmosphere and promising premise and well rounded world only if I would be reading about Saben or any of the non naive children then it would be great.
