- ZanetharusRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0As the blurb states, "Jack" is thrust into the role of the new leader of the displaced refugee people, the Cha, an ethnic group despised and driven out of their home. After what I'd would consider a multi-chapter prologue, we reach "Jack"'s perspective, where the survivalist enthusiast gets to work in an intimately personal way for a 4X game, actually meeting and greeting the people and not only learning their names but befriending them.
There are multiple POVs which flesh out the story, from the faraway princess mentioned in the blurb, to the other people around Jack, and I like how the supporting characters exist as more than set dressing and plot devices.
As far as the story goes, I'm enjoying it so far, with Jack being "strong" with his knowledge but not "overpowered" with the best answer to every problem. At this point (Ch10) Jack and the Cha people are still in the "new-start struggle" of the 4X game, but I'm expecting his attention to rise to grander-scale issues as survival gives way to politics. Jack is a self-proclaimed narcissist, and I look forward to seeing him perform on the political stage. - CSharpe2034Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The overall style of the story is like a daily serial. That said the pacing of the story has no big time jumps (most chapters are in the same instance or a few hours in the future).
Jack our protagonist is constantly trying to improve the security of his people and I think eventual "pawn" off his leadership responsibilities to a council.
I have not found any grammar mistakes (their are suggestion in the comments) - I am assuming the author has fixed those in the text.
So far all characters in the story have a reason for the actions that they do. It may not be apparent at the moment, but will be resolved in a chapter or two. - SourabhRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This novel offers a gripping and emotionally charged blend of kingdom-building, political fantasy, and reincarnation. It’s a compelling saga that masterfully evolves from an intimate survival story into a grand-scale political and strategic drama. I have read a lot of kingdom building novels and among them this novel had handled the various aspects of kingdom building the best.A significant strength lies in its detailed and believable world-building. The kingdom-building elements feel alive, supported by a well-paced advancement of technology that adds a strong sense of realism and progress. The story balances this large scope with a deeply personal touch. Jack, a former survivalist enthusiast, applies his knowledge effectively, making him a strong leader without being overpowered. His approach is refreshingly intimate for the genre; he befriends his people rather than just managing them, even as his self-proclaimed narcissism promises high-stakes political maneuvering to come. The narrative is enriched by multiple, clear perspectives that flesh out the world. Supporting characters like Aprilia, Lothar, and Matilda are well-developed, adding emotional depth and realism rather than serving as simple plot devices. Aprilia's journey, in particular, is noted as deeply moving. The prose is immersive and cinematic, balancing action, dialogue, and introspection. While there are occasional minor punctuation issues, they don't detract from the overall experience. This is a powerful and ambitious story that blends historical allegory with heartfelt character arcs and a compelling romance subplot. For fans of character-driven fantasy with layered socio-political dynamics, this is a must-read.
- VivekpkRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story made me binge read the whole way. It keeps you invested and is a good read especially if you are into Kingdom building.
The prose is good and words flows through. The author's descriptive writing made the town building setting come alive, creating an immersive experience. Highly recommended for kingdom building lovers! - GreenGRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I normally hunt down romance normal, and have become averse to harem tropes because of the general poor handling of multiple characters in many stories, not just on royal road-even published ones.
I have found this story to be enjoyable so far in both how it focuses on one partner at a time, mostly and the kingdom building.
Let us see how it goes from here, I have high hopes.
good luck, take care. - IRON MANRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is just rushing through tech, sex and everything else a man desires throughout most of the novel, its actually 2.75 stars in my opinion for general book category and 3.25 stars for the kingdom buildng/modern technology genre overall. This is due to multiple issues like bad writing(especially in the early chapters, writing and pacing improved a lot in later chapters), too much tech rushing, the way author is doing the harem(I hate Reshama/Jack's sexual relationship specifically), few one dimensional charachters with almost no growth(Im looking at u Hyde) or the interations between charachters seem weird, POVs switching(especially in the later chapter) does seem slightly excessive imo(Im fine with multiple POVs, but splitting multiple POVs and then consistently bounching between them irks me and will irk me a lot more in future since I binged upto 2.48, just complete one POV before switching to other) etc. The author says its for the fans of Release that witch but it reads like it was written for the fans 'The adventures of Conrad Stargard' or An infinite recursion of time in substance level(okay that was a bit harsh, it has slightly more substance than those but not much but there is a lot of potential). If u r a fan of the kingdom building/modern knowledge genre u should try it out for sure, this(extremely fast paced/low detailed/smut/extreme wish fulfillment) kinda fills the gap between FLTL(slow paced/extremely detailed/zero romance & nsfw) and the horizon of war(medium paced/medium detailed/romantic monogamous relationship/zero nsfw) the other 2 most popular works in this genre on the platform. Author don be offended but its nowhere near the vicinity of RTW sadly, that is a masterpiece of literature in this genre and in general.Gave 5 starts on the platform as there are so few good kingdom building novels on the platform and it could truly become one, I like a lot of elements in it tbh. There is a lot of potential though mr author, the military police, duchie
- SivrehnRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Ok, I came across this fic by searching for a certain intersection of characteristics, which I shall list:
-Smart protagonist
-Who focuses on leaving a lasting impact on the world
-By applying his knowledge of a former life
-Has fun along the way, but doesn't just do things that don't matter - avoid too much filler
-Not overly dark, preferably wholesome
This novel does fill all the criteria, is very pleasant to read, and has kept me gripped so far! The author is also very resposive to commentary and is always willing to improve, and this is very important! I cannot give a glowing enough review.
However, there are some things I need to make clear: The protagonists are smart, but they aren't flawless. The author (and even the characters) has made it clear he knows what they are and expects them to be worked on through the story. So, don't expect perfect characters (which, well, is an unrealistic expectation for any story).
The MC is (and knows he is), not only smart and selfless, but also:
-Overconfident
-Overdramatic
-Insufferable
-Horny af.
However, again, the overconfidence is essential to his survival. It is made clear at the beginning, that if he does hesitate or fail to sell himself at some point, the outcome is simply death. And this is not wrong. Until his position is stable, he can't afford to lower his guard. And right now, we are still in the setup phase, where the protagonists and deuteragonists are meeting and still forming a consenting poly cell. The author did mention NSFW stuff will taper down after this, and what there is, is optional.
So, let's focus on the bullet point:
-Style: Flows well, doesn't look like AI writing at all (sadly a needed check today), gripping, made me want to binge it from the very start. The LitRPG elements is very light, which is good for this sort of story, for this sort of story is about building up a civilization, not just its needlessly OP leader. MC starts with a boon of health (includes eidetic memory of former life, wh - ReaderAyushRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I enjoyed reading this, it's entertaining, immersive and the pacing is decent. Characters feel real and their motives are understandable and I look forward to see what more the author has in store. Regardless of what happenes in the future, I hope the story is finished and not dropped.
- Robert WolfRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a gripping and emotionally charged story that blends historical allegory with fantasy and reincarnation. The story’s style is immersive and cinematic, with vivid descriptions and strong pacing that keep the reader engaged throughout.
The narrative shifts between perspectives with clarity, and the prose balances action, dialogue, and introspection effectively.
The plot is compelling, chronicling the harrowing exodus of the Cha people and their struggle for survival. It evolves into a political and strategic saga with the reincarnated protagonist, Jack, offering a fresh twist on the classic isekai trope. The world-building is rich and layered, with believable socio-political dynamics and a strong sense of place.
Grammar is mostly solid, though there are occasional punctuation inconsistencies and some overuse of exclamations. These minor issues don’t detract significantly from the overall readability.
Characters are well-developed, especially Aprilia, whose emotional journey is deeply moving. Jack’s transformation from an unsatisfied man to a reluctant leader is believable. Supporting characters like Lothar and Matilda add depth and realism.
Overall, this is a powerful and ambitious story with heart, grit, and a strong foundation for a larger saga. It’s a must-read for fans of character-driven fantasy with real-world parallels.
It does feel like the stakes will just grow higher from here, and it will be interesting to watch how Jack plans to grow the Cha people into an unstoppable force. - Zero ReaderRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A great story so far with compelling main characters, each with their own personality, motives and drive; a great plot; and good writing.
The harem is written in a way that makes sense for him to end up with the main female characters.
The progress of kingdom building is not tedious or bogged down by too much detail.
There is eventual political intrigue (Book 2) and drama.
Definitely worth the read. Don't miss out on it.
