  This short story (really an itsy bitsy little tiny story) was fun to read. I'm glad I randomly stumbled upon it. I think the saying it's musing upon isn't actually stupid (and the character seems to recognize the situations it applies well to), but it fits perfectly with a scenario where someone is running for his/her life. Most of us would think stupid thoughts in those moments, assuming we have the presence of mind to think about anything.
  Anyway, I think this would make a good dark comedy sketch. The thoughts of the character would be voiceover, and we'd watch the person running away, as this thing's gaining on them, and we'd hear the sounds of a person slowly losing breath and energy as the inner monologue winds down before they eventually succumb to the inevitable. Could be good.

  Ther say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, is there even some true to the saying?, im a pretty literal person so when i read this it quickly made me question the saying, yeah, almost dying and coming out of it probably leaves you worse for the wear than better.

  This is what it says on the title and the blurb, thinking through the saying and realizing that on its face - the saying is kind of dumb. While the saying was really not meant to apply to such things in a literal sense, that is the fun of this piece. It works. You get what it says and little more at the end. It does not feel grimdark to me at all, but I do not think a lot of readers are going to be lured in by that tag either. This was fun.
