Vritra [A Dragon Evolution LitRPG]

Community Rating

Description

A death of holding no memory of the previous life into the new. Mixed of a spider and a dragon, born in the middle of a chaotic battle between Dragons and Humanity. What life awaits the Spider Dragon as they level up into different stages and live in a new world of Sorcery and Sword, and Monsters!

Trying out a LitRPG, this time more focused on building up the character and their power. Considering my initial failed attempt on a former series on a different site.

Will be my main focus in releasing chapters more than once per week. The other fictions will release once or less a week considering they are shorter based stories as this one is intended for more content than a short and brief few novels.

Thank you readers for checking out Vritra. Please give feedback on ways that I can grow my form of writing to fit in your engagement and understanding. Trying to get better and soon will have more time to type down words compared to these past weeks.

This may be a slightly early review, but I simply adore the premise. The main character is reborn as a spider dragon, and the story mainly focuses on growth and evolution, which is spelled out through the LitRPG aspects, such as a system that regulates stats, abilities, and evolutions. Pretty great start, so here's a review for your work.

The story is more or less a rewrite of Kumo Desu Ga, Nani Ka? with some details changed. Not to say that's inherently a bad thing, but the amount of copying the author does is beyond what I'd find acceptable for something that isn't presenting itself as fanfiction. The names of certain things, like Sariel and Taratects is used for some reason, the format is very similar (main character POV with intrrludes flashing forward in time) and even major plot beats, like the MC eventually becoming the nightmare of the labyrinth. I believe in you author! You don't need to use source material as a crutch like this. Branching away from Kumo in order to tell your own story will only improve the quality of your work.
The MC getting human form very early on is pretty novel, as is the interactions with the max lvl dragon.
The grammar in the story is very poor. It makes reading very difficult when I need to reread sections to figure out what was said due to poor grammar.
Not enough characters have been introduced yet for me to rate. Judging from how close to Kumo this story is, I assume that the story will have a primary focus of MC's Pov and very minimal supporting cast. The MC isn't quite as entertaining to hear monologue as Kumoko, and thus that sort of story structure doesn't seem to work as well.
