- I Need ImaginationRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I honestly just started reading this novel, thinking, that it will be a okay read, based on the number of ratings. Man, how quickly this novel won me over. This is one of the best stories, I have ever read in this site. The author impressed me so much, that it compelled me to write this review. Thank you for the wonderful time, author.
- JackValhallaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Start with a well-understood idea: gamer mentally inhabiting the villain character of an adventure-rpg-VN. But, the game gets there by an indirect route, having already achieved a Perfect Run while mentally inhabiting the heroine of a different game altogether. This creates a lateral sort of new-game-plus and affects absolutely everything from that point on. The character becomes a lot more than she's meant to be.
I had doubts. They didn't last long. The story proved itself quickly. Villainess Joan of Arc, much like its protagonist, delivers a lot more than is expected.
The most difficult balancing-act paradox in this genre is "OP protagonist that feels earned". This story bulls-eyes that mark, and does it right away. The action starts a lot earlier than you'd expect, and moves quickly. And at the same time OnceWritten develops a large background cast of interesting characters that feel fleshed-out as soon as they hit the page.
Solidly well-written, grammar/spelling/structure, well-paced, atmosphere and description are all well-chosen. Dialogue is sharp, every character has a unique voice and every line serves to further the story. The game elements are fleshed-out but serve to inform and describe a character's capabilities so that the action and fantasy elements feel more well-understood and not replaced. Well-executed for fundamental technique and top marks for style. - TishersRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0LOL,
"What is this sludge?"
I sat down and read through chapter 26 today. I lost track of time and hadn't realized it was the last chapter up to this point (on Saturday).
With all of the good stories you want them to continue on. I guess that is the disadvantage of serials; You have to wait for the next chapter.
I am anxiously awaiting! Great story - Baron HARDRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This fantasy text is an innovative gem! With bold narrative points of view, it alternates perspectives from same person, creating total immersion. The branching choice mechanics surprise, where decisions affect not only the plot but the entire world. The medieval graphics and an epic historic figures elevate the experience. Ideal for fans of creative RPGs, it offers good times. A masterpiece!
- WhitebloodRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Ohh, how enraptured I was with this that I binged at all in a go. I want more chapters already!!!
Moving on, this story has a very unique combination of transmigration and heavy dose of 'don't let them know your next move'. The characters have depth to them and their own motivations and not just plot devices. And I really liked how it stayed true to the past of the character and didn't forget the influences it would have on her. The plot is very unique(kinda?) and interesting as well. Hopefully the author remains motivated and continues this quality work. - The Young PyromancerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A lot of popular Royal Road stories are like popcorn-enjoyable, but lacking substance. This goes double for LitRPGs. This story doesn’t do that. It’s designed not to appeal to the lowest common denominator, but to prioritize the quality of the story first and foremost. It’s not the best story I’ve ever read or anything, but it’s the best thing I’ve read on RR for quite a while.
- Elektro KahnchenRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I realy like this Story. That sums it pretty much up. Sometimes I would wish the MC wurde say or react a little more selfish or in other ways, but well, that's just preference. Otherwise it's a finde villainess Story which I can recommend.
Grammar ist ok. I don't See any problem there but english isn't my Main language, so take that with a Grainau of Salt.
Style is fine.
The characters are good as far as i can see. The queen was a bit of a suprise. Not couse that she was the sister, but becourse of how she was reacting as those too Meet.
Ok...200 words to Film is seemingly not so easy, so I will just brutale to Film the rest here.
Seems I didn't reach 200 just yet...serios that's the only rules that's course me to neuer realy write an advanced Review. When you just want to write you like a Story and have to write a Roman just to Film this sektion here...
Ok what else. This is the point at which I just don't know what is there more to write. Shouldn't I have reached 200 words already with my shoddy english
Cia - DaScootRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This story is basically a mashup of two similar genres, 'reborn as my video game character' and 'reborn as the otome villainess', with the character literally getting a mashup system of both games at once. This does make them into something of an OP MC, although it's not entirely overwhelmingly so.
It generally adds some freshness to the genre, although it plays out in some awkward ways. The protagonist has basically three different ages - their physical age, their apparent visual age, and their mental age. This basically ensures that they never fit in with any peer group they happen to be hanging out with, and limits how close they can actually get with someone.
The most annoying part of the story however is the author's love of ending chapters on big dramatic, emotional reveals and moments...and then starting the next chapter on another topic as if nothing ever happened, with no followup on the moment whatsoever. It's like if Darth Vader did his 'I am your father' line, and the next camera shot was Luke eating lunch on the Falcon. It's happened at least three major times so far and probably a few more minor ones as well.
The story has solid potential, but it'd be better if the dramabomb moments were a bit more solidly constructed. - AdvisorVisorRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Sometimes, I just stop reading something because I don't think I'll ever see anything unique happen. Not quite so here.
The individual parts of the story are forgettable and generic, but the way it's been just mashed together is what makes it interesting. The protagonist has two separate blue boxes mashed together, is also a bizarre anthropomorphized demon sword, and a scarred veteran of a hopeless time loop he was isekaied into. It could be an awkward "kitchen sink" situation, but though the introduction is skimmed over it doesn't feel like these elements are incompletely integrated. I really enjoyed the attention to detail on the fascinating "developing magic as an infant" scenes. I think this story is about throwing tropes together, having them mix together weirdly and what comes out of that. It just goes to show that you can be creative by mixing old ideas uniquely too.
However, I'd like to see more depth to the thinking-through. There's still a cheap, plastic taste to what I'm reading. A bit too much "this is the way it is because this is how the trope is", I think. - BargestRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Nicely written book, check the tags before you start. It has good flow of scenes and descriptions. Would have been a fan if not for so much glum and depressive felling. It has atmosphere like in those otome books where you want to just kill MC just to stop the suffering, or at leas I think it will go there later.
Trope of "reincarnated old being" is done adequately, event though by trying to avoid common mistakes it repeats them all over again
My main complains is that childhood arcs longer that 50 pages are overstayed their welcome. We all read them, there is nothing new you could do and worldbuilding could be moved to other places
Another problem is reincarnating old beings with tons of baggage is hard, usually it either "old acts like child" or "child acts like old and everyone accepts it" and both sides are frustrating. Here it tries to merge them, and sometimes it even works. Some things are not addressed or glossed over, when MC needs to act like a child there is plot device that can be referred to it, or when she acts like traumatized veteran nobody bothers, or when it says endless war loops ground her soul to dust, then she acts like nothing happened until it suddenly remembered.
Finally is personal feelings that no way related to ratings. I came to read about war veteran reincarnates as a OP villainess and not depressed unloved girl
Also, can you stop spamming ADs for other books in author notes? It's one thing to shout out good book, another is to use notes as free ad space
