Unholy Grail

Description

A combination of the holy grail legend and Highlander where all those who drink from the cup of immortality can never truly become a god until all others are slain.  Or so they think.

Bleak is the latest to drink from the grail.  It cost him years of searching and more than a few amputations.  And while drinking from the grail has made him nearly immortal, he quickly learns that all others who drank from the cup can sense his presence.  And they'll be coming for his head.

Aside from immortality, Bleak can't think of anything more exciting.

*This is my entry for the January Writing Contest.  As such, I'm hoping to upload a chapter per week, but I don't have a regular release schedule planned.  Sorry :(   However, once I start a project, I HAVE to see it through to the end, so I won't abandon this story after the writing contest.  I will finish it.

The main work I'm currently uploading is called"A Gathering of Dreamers"and is much lighter in tone.  It's a fantasy adventure with a large cast of characters.

I'm so excited to announce thatI've published a collection of FANTASY SHORT STORIES."Magic, Mountains & Monsters" is available now on Amazon as an ebook or paperback.

There are only two chapters out so far, but the style of writing is very witty and detailed. I was entertained the whole time, and the author did a good job detailing the world that he created. Looking forward to reading more! (Below are a few additional notes).
-Cool opening paragraphs. Bleak has really had to suffer in order to achieve immortailty. I like how he has to lose parts of his body.
-Your descriptions are really deatiled and provide an effective visual of the world. I especiall like how you described Bleak as somewhat
    resembling a man.
-Cutting off your fingers to test for immortality is beyond hardcare. I'm surprised he'd be willing to do that to himself, dude must
    really want to be immortal.
-One note, I'd include a description of the sensation when Bleak chops off his finger. Is he used to the pain, does it still hurt?
-I found it really funny that Bleak held onto all of his amputated digits. I guess I probably would've done the same thing if I were in
    his shoes.
