First 5 chapters are great. Like the anxiety of watching something like requiem for a dream mixed with the uncertainty of eternal sunshine of a spotless mind with a side of fight club without the violence. The potential for the supernatural and the uncertainty that follow are visceral.
To bring it closer to RR and compare to something here, perhaps the beginning of Katalepsis is close in its tone, in how it portrays the nearly hopeless struggles of someone trying and failing to win a fight againsy their own mind.
I can only hope this will be as incredible a story as katalepsis was, and I am extremely content following along to find out.
