The city of Teblen, capital of the Margraviate of Tunow-Aine, sits at the southern border.
Named after its namesake watchpost, Westwatch, is the poorest of the quarters. This story follows four different fates on the same day who areinextricably linked to each other. Glimpsing into their shared past will tell us about their shared future.
See the lives of young Marghe, Salm, Koe and Herk unfold and how Westwatch itself is inescapable.
What can you expect?
An Epic Fantasy story, told from and about the perspective of those at the very bottom.
A strong revolutionary theme about overthrow and liberation.
Insight into minor characters that are bound to become major characters in the next book.
What’s the update schedule?
Book 1 is done, thank you very much! The old schedule is over, but I'll post 4 Intermezzo Chapters at the first friday per month. After that, this is on hiatus until I have enough backlog for book 2.

Each chapter gives insight into characters that feel so real you would be surprised to find you are reading fiction, and high fantasy no less.
In particular, the sound of magic excels in character writing, witty and realistic dialogue, and an immersive, sprawling setting. Each character is fun, they play off each other and are baked into their setting instead of standing in front of a backdrop.
Overall, this miniseries is a 5/5 to keep you waiting for the sound of magic book 2!
