STYLE: I enjoy the authors writing style. The prose is good, and some descriptions are beautiful, with a tinge of humor in the prose. Over all, there's no complaints about the writing style.
CHARACTERS: I expected Gabriel to have more of an active role, Anwar is fun, but Aurelius, the main character feels a little bland. I feel that after 5 chapters I should know a little more about the main character, what he wants, what he needs, but I'm going to give the author the benefit of the doubt, that Aurelius will be less bland in the future. I hope that we get more of Aurelius' motivations except for "I don't want to burden my mother" because that's the only bit of character information we know except for that he's a nice guy who saves people.
STORY: The story is fun, and I hope that Gabriel has a bigger role in the future, because I feel only having him in the first chapter was a waste. Otherwise I like the training scenes where Anwar is teaching Aurelius magic. As I said in the title the fights are fun to read. The magic system so far is simple yet effective with essence being like ki/chakra/nen.
GRAMMAR: No issues here 5/5.
OVERALL: It's a fun read with some familiar tropes and I recommend giving it a read.

The writing style really does stand out with its quite well-written sentences sprinkled with a bit of humor that does add to the narrative's charm. The humor isn’t overdone and immersion breaking, it’s just enough to make you crack a smile here and there. The prose is also solid with some notably well-crafted descriptions and vivid elements that make the scenes pop in your head as if you’re watching a live scene. the writer knows just how to paint a solid picture with words.
The characters are quite engaging, though I think the main character could use a bit more depth. There's a hint of underdevelopment there, but I'm optimistic that future chapters will flesh out his motivations and background more. Maybe we’ll get to see what really makes him tick. The story itself is entertaining, especially the parts involving magical training and fight scenes, which are a real highlight. These scenes are not just entertaining but they’re written in a way that makes you interested in the action.
The magic system, though straightforward, is intriguing and works well within the story's context. It’s not overly complicated, but it has its own flair. And the creativity and prose of the battles was a real pleasure to read, they really highlight the workings of the magic system and leave you curious to find out more. The way the magic is used in the fights is pretty clever.
Grammar-wise, it's spotless, contributing to a smooth reading experience. You’re not tripping over words or getting lost in messy sentences. Overall, despite some tropes, it's an enjoyable read and worth checking out for those who appreciate fantasy with a mix of action and magic. It’s got that classic fantasy feel but with some fresh twists and a very interesting premise
