story is good explains what happened when most stories skip it
has potential to become one of the best stories on royalroad
chapters are a little short but other than that the story is good

Enjoyable story with a different take on living in a magical world. One thing i've noticed and want to point out is the constant complaint about plot holes.  If you read the whole story and not just skim through it you'll see that the author has explained them albeit with only a brief description.  Only complaint i have is on the short chapters  but the author cranks them out pretty fast so you don't have to want forever for a new chapter.

I started reading today and it's already one of my favorites.
Recommended for people who like really complex and creative magic systems for the MC to exploit.

I like the story, the idea is nice, the progress of the mc is good, I have read quite a few stories with a promising beginning that quickly became ridiculous and boring, but I'm glad this one is not of that type.
I really can't understand all the whining about plot holes, yes there are quite a few aspects parts that could habe been elaborated a little more, but the author is doing his best and it's not easy to write very descriptive all the time especially if you have a great story that you want to tell.
Of cause there are some flaws here too, the biggest one being the short chapters, the daily output of words is great but the short chapters chop up the story quite a bit, with every chapter pretty much opening and closing a problem/situation it limits the story, I feel it could tell the story better with more words, even if it slows down the overall progress of the story.
All in all great story idea, decent story telling, interesting character (though the side characters are a little unimportant/flat maybe get them involved a little more)
The grammar is good too, I didn't stumble more than maybe once or twice all the way to chapter 60.

I  really liked the 1st volume, its a good read as long as you don't pay too much on the small stuff. OP Mc with a harem and an AI being the main girl. I prefer John as the MC and I love his character.

First of all, I don't understand why there is SO much hate for this novel, along with so many bad reviews!! I mean come on! The author is a dude / dudet from Ethiopia who's writing this from his / her phone just to give a little back to the RR community! And instead of encouragement what he / she gets is a of lot of shit and doubt that he / she is gonna ask for donations, which he / she can't do even if he / she wanted to, which he / she doesn't!!
Now then, regarding the story, it's a good story with a great potential! I personally think that it's rushed a bit, but that's just my opinion! And since the author has already said that this is supposed to be a light read ,I don't personally mind. The potholes are there but don't really affect the story much. My honest opinion is that it is overall a very enjoyable LIGHT read, which is its purpose, so job well done!! And remember, they hate us cause they A'NUS!!!! :D

Overall a very enjoyable story. Though it has an almost incorrigible amount of plotholes and barely a bantam of material to its characters, setting and plot, It is a feelgood story. I just hope that as the story progresses as will the authors attention to detail and it’s chapter length, of which I should hope it grows to be at least 3 to 5 times it’s size. I would ask that the author is not discouraged by my or any words of criticism as it is there only to assist them in their writing. It is of equal or greater importance that the author enjoys writing as the reader does reading that which he has written.
It is important that you are not discouraged by those in the review section that would rather submit crass insults in lieu of helpful criticism because in the words of Michael Steelbender they can "stuff it".

I really like this fiction, I really do but Author-kun, your story  really needs to explain somethings before actually giving it out. (Spoiler) Like how the hell does Jules know about hell, where did he get materials for a fricking laser, and how  the fuck did the MC implant a fricking piece of metal into his  skull and bones without proper knowledge and tools on how to do surgery (sure Jules is a super-smart AI but does she have knowledge about that, if she does pls inform us or put it in the story that she was programmed to have the knowledge and skills of professional workers like I don't know surgeons, hitmans, veterinarians, and even a goddamn dentist. Explain it more please because if you don't its gonna it up like this.
Joe was an average guy, he had average looks, intelligence and an average family. Joe's wife died because of Donald Trump holding a dildo. His daughter was dumber than dumb, she later developed a plasma drive that helped humanity travel the galaxies and reproduce. Joe was happy with his life, and because he was sad, he sacrificed his humanity to summon Satan. After he had lost his humanity, he killed every single unicorn and human he could find. After the carnage he had done, he then faced Satan and said "Go buy me a burger with extra fries."
    THE END
(SORRY FOR CURSING A LOT THAT'S JUST THE WAY I TALK AND WRITE)
Again I really like this, but please Author-kun make more sense.

I've only read the first forty-five chapters, but the story is not for me and I will not be continuing. My thoughts about this work  thus far are as follows:
The author does an excellent job of presenting the story in a brief and concise manner which reflects the best use of the tools available (several times the author notes a chapter is written on a phone). As a result the plot progression is rapid, but detail and character development is often sacrificed. The author will post a periodic addendum to fill the resulting plot holes, but this serves to break up the natural flow of the story.
The main character is over-powered from the start, guided by an ever-present and occasionally all-knowing AI. He often develops the tool or trick he needs just as he needs it, stumbles into awkward situations only to overwhelmingly come out on top, and pays little attention to the ramifications of his actions. I get a Tony Stark fused with Doctor Doom feeling from him.
Science of Magic is well-written and, if you are looking for something to read quickly and/or casually, that's fairly light-heated in its plot and points of conflict, you may find it worth your time to give it a go. If you desire , however, a story with more in-depth plot and character development, or perhaps more complex intrigue, then I would recommend looking elsewhere.
