Description
In the year 2030, Arthur Morris, a bright young graduate, embarks on a solo camping trip to celebrate his birthday and the promise of a new chapter at Cornell University. But as he ventures into the Catskills, he disappears without a trace, leaving behind friends and family in desperate uncertainty.
When Arthur awakens, he finds himself in the midst of a vastly different reality. What looks like ancient China during the Han Dynasty. Stripped of his previous life, he grapples with the stark challenges of a world where power dynamics shift with the flick of a blade, and survival hinges on martial prowess. As he navigates this new realm, Arthur must adapt quickly, learning the complex language and the brutal ways of Wulin—a society governed by the relentless rules of martial artists.
With danger lurking in every shadow and violent encounters reshaping his understanding of honor and justice, Arthur's journey of self-discovery and cultivation begins. From the moment he steps into a small village, his life takes a profound turn as he trains under legendary masters, uncovers hidden abilities, and confronts his own identity, caught between two worlds.
This story explores the themes of resilience, ambition, and transformation as Arthur grapples with his past and the dangers of his present. Will he embrace the path laid before him and unlock the potential that lies within, or will the brutality of his new environment consume him? Join Arthur on this thrilling adventure where every choice shapes his destiny, in a world rich with culture, philosophy, and danger.
What to expect:
1. No system, but somewhat convenient progress. But every advancement requires tolerance and sacrifice.
2. My personal take on the philosophical and realistic (or as much as it's possible) side of cultivation themes that isn't just about gathering more power in a straightforward way.
3. An actual American thrown into the chaos of the world of Wuxia, and his progress in a completely new world.

- bruceathomeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a highly enjoyable cultivation story. I was a bit concerned (for want of a better term) that the protagonist was advancing too quickly, but the author has also made sure that the trials he faces also advance, so he doesn’t feel too over powered.
There is some foreshadowing that is a bit heavy handed, but the story still reads well.
Style. Third person, almost completely following the protagonist.
Story. Good. Fairly generic cultivation storie. If you like cultivation stories, you’ll probably like this one.
Grammar. Excellent. Nothing else to say really.
Character. Likeable enough. Supposedly a late teen, but that isn’t the image I have in my head.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed what I’ve read so far, and will keep on reading.
