Description

After being killed, a somewhat intellectually and empathically disadvantaged young mage wakes up just in time for the start of semester exams. He has been marked with the brand of time, cursed to return upon every death, until the calamity is prevented. If only he could only listen to his survival instinct long enough to find out that one was even coming. What to expect: -A real anti-hero Protagonist-A slow and realistic Weak to Strong-Character Development-Comedy Updates: Every Friday Book 1&2 already written Longer Note: If you're reading this you want to find out more about the story before giving it a try. It is partially inspired by Mother of Learning, but I'm taking a very different approach in terms of tropes. It's a bit of an experiment but as a reader I've been getting a bit bored by perfect protagonists, so here's my attempt at a story with a very flawed main character reacting to a situation he's frankly not ready to face. It also focuses strongly on comedy, as it naturally tends to emerge with unreliable narrators. By Chapter 4 you should know if it's your vibe! Hope you enjoy :)

Honestly the only good novel that has an "arogant young master" mc. The mc is dumb and that's also really hard to pull off, but using humour and luck he still ends up making the "tight choices" which offsets it. Overall a pretty enjoyable experience, basically what if mother of learning had a lazy protagonist. Spoiler alert, he won't stay lazy forever.

Jim, the protagonist's constant snobby commentary, I would say, is the draw of the story, his constant ways of coping with his mediocrity, mistakes, and just the laziness of his actions. An example is the way he’s going about the new timelines, seemingly making it worse as time goes on. His views on people and the way he acts are just hilarious to me, like those antagonists that always pop up in academy stories, but this time he’s the one, a real dumb, lazy one. Also, the images included are wonderful, not detrimental, instead good illustrations that improve upon the story. Looking forward to further chapters, especially when he finally finds out the purpose of the loops.

Time Looping for Dummies had me hooked from the start. The worldbuilding is detailed and immersive. The dialogue is funny and pointed. And the suspenseful tension that exists throughout the story was enough to keep me reading line after line without becoming sore and exhausted from the edging. What I found most entertaining was the character progression of the main protagonist, Jim: from blissfully unaware of his own arrogance to becoming slightly more aware of his place in the academy, amongst his peers, and within the social-political tensions that cast a shadow over the world. All while never abandoning his unique flavor of wit and humor. In the beginning, he was easy to dislike, but by the end, I was rooting for him.Pour a big mug of tea and give this a read. At worst, it's a fantastically entertaining story. The only sad part is that we have to wait for part 2.

This is a great read and actually funny, like actually funny in a wryly amused way. Let me put it this way. The MC is Jim. Short for Jimothy. If that makes your smirk this is for you.
The overall challenge is introduced early but it's not clear, in a good way, who is on which side. Magic schools, secret societies, and dragons. What more do you need?
Technically this is a really smooth read and I didn't spot any typos of grammar issues.
As the author says, if you like the first few chapters, you'll like the whole thing...and I like the first few chapters.
Looking forward to reading more...but only updates once  a week!?!?!? WHYY???

Great story, there is a certain flavour from Mother of Learning, but the actual execution of this story is radically different, as mentioned in the story title, the MC acts a bit like a moron.
I wouldn't say that the MC is actually an idiot though, more oblivious and entitled from birth, I find his frequent comeuppances hilarious and sweetly deserving, and cant wait till he actually becomes a bit more self aware. Over time, against his actual personal preferences, the MC is starting to learn a bit of knowledge, but due to his personal distate of learning, its taking the MC a bit longer than usual, its funny, but for a student at a prestigious college, he seems in his earlier loops to spend more time trying to dodge classes than actually putting in the time
I like how his upperclass attitude is constantly causing problems for him, if he was a tad more aware half his would be gone, at one point his obliviousness and mis-judgment of charactor causes him to be eaten head first by an eldritch monstrosity that had been masquerading as a pretty woman, if he hadn't had his head stuck up his arse he would have been more suspicious of her from previous time loops.
If you like Mother of Learning, give this story a go, it is a wholly different flavour to that story, enough to make this genre to feel new.

A dumnass main character is not that uncommon but usually it’s unintentional. This time it’s very much intentional and his stiff upper lip arrogance/ignorance is the icing on the cake. A man that I will love to hate or a man that has all the space it needs to grow into a better person.
also the author have yet to fail, love his other works.

Right off the bat I  loathed the main character. He's incompetent, lazy, selfish and so full of himself I'm supprised he hasn't performed mitosis. The perfect Target for extensive character development. I read every chapter wonder what will push him to improve,  develop himself into something at least resembling decency. And I'm not disappointed, because he's either going to grow into a person I can empathize with, Or develop so much trauma that I kind of have to feel sorry for him, even if he's a chode.

So far I really like it! Can’t wait to see what happens now that he finally wants to learn. He is such a fun character. I like that you have to basically read between the lines to know what’s actually happening. He is definitely an unreliable narrator. I highly recommend. 👍

The Looping MoronMagas or This guy is definitely not in the loop or Young master trained in the art of De Javudoo or Ignoramagus - Going Loopy Or alternatively The story with a thousand titles. This is a good story so far, very humourous, kept me waiting for chapter drops. The main character is an ignorant self centred ****. Which adds to the allure that progressively he will change, this is a massive caricature of the young master trope without the isekai. Now hopefully the author can keep things interesting, I generally like time loops but with how this character is portrayed it's not hard to imagine it will take more pages than most a willing to commit to see change.....then again I wouldn't be against the competent anti hero angle where the final loop the character is still a **** just a well performing one...

I haven’t left many reviews through out the years, but this one has been really enjoyable and funny to accompany. It’s funny and comedic but it shows a lot of progress and some serious themes as well, Jim has so much to grow and develop and it’s amazing to see him do just that and slowly become a better person
