- QuagsirePallyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Everything about this story is unbelievably adorable. I binged it all in one sitting and my only regret is that my cheeks are a little sore from the grin that's been splitting my face the whole time!
The main couple is oh so likeable, the fluffy romantic fantasy doesn't overstay its welcome (if anything I wish there was a little more!), and the episodic vignette format is a delightful little slideshow of a madly happy marriage. - HolidayBornRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute!! i totally regret waiting to read this for sooooooooo long! its so good, the husband wife pair is so adorable and i had a smile on my face since the first chapter!!!!

like why did you deprived me of that??? - KaapstadMKRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is possibly the most adorable husband-wife couple in any story on RRL Kudos on portraying a functioning marriage!
As for the review itself, this story is different in that, instead of progressively telling a gradual story over the span of many chapters, this story reads like a series of vignettes, linked in chronological order and, guess what, it works. I don't need to see the mundane events of how he became a master smith or she became the lightning witch. I don't need to see them wrangling over budgets, either.
No, what is portrayed are a husband and wife who are besotted with each other (and not in a dysfunctional way) and who love each other and ejoy loving each other in a way similar to how many IRL married folks do.
Also, this ranks up along with The Pirate Balthasar in terms of the "You can't take him/her; he's/shes mine!" - TukoRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I enjoyed the story. It is fun, light, and wholesome. Husband and wife in love, not caring about prejudice based on a label.
My only feedback to the author is that the ending came abruptly and unexpected. I was looking for the next chapter when I realized it's over. Feels like it was left hanging.
Thanks for the story! - luda305Royal Road★★★★ 4.0This is a lovely little romance of the prophesied hero marrying the to-be-villainess. Presented as an anthology, it is a mix of heartwarming and comic relief, juxtaposed with serious aches of a romantic relationship and... evil?
Oh well. My main critique is that the grammar can be oddly terrible in places, which is odd based on how the author describes herself.
In any event, i would recommend this to anyone who likes romance and is not bothered by fantasy. - MK bk-201Royal Road★★★★ 4.0A short and sweet, lovely story about a witch demeed cursed by lighting and a man blessed by the sun who is supposed to be destined to kill her, luckily for both them he dosent belive in prophecies, if there werent minor spelling errors it would be 5 stars from me.
- MonitorRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This story is about the witch that will destroy the world and the man who will stop her. Now, if those stupid wise men would stop to interfere, that would be good.
It is mostly a romance between those two characters, and conflict mostly comes from the people who think their interpretation of the prophecy is correct, and everyone else must be wrong. They are smarter than everyone else, of course. Oh, and don't want to loose their political power. Can't forget about that.
The style fits the story, and the grammar is excellent.
The story itself is rather whimsical and seems to follow no true overall narrative, beyond that two people like each other very much, and stop trying to steal my wife (or husband), thank you very much.
The characters are excellently written, if whimsical and in no great depth described. Which does not hurt the story, because the entire story is build around being that way.
All in all, a fun read for when you just want to read something a bit funny, and don't want to care a lot about the story. It works very well as that, although it doesn't work at all, if you expect anything serious. - OrrmRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Overall this is a surprisingly well done series of, Brief exerts, I suppose.
Each chapter is a different occurrence in time, often occurring years or months after the previous chapter.
The story follows chronological order and focuses on main events in the couple's life.
This, at the beginning, appears as a jarring change in pace however by the end, the reader becomes used to it and the sequences flow from chapter to chapter much easier.
Other than that, there are almost no spelling and grammatical errors(almost) and the readability is exceptionally high due to the small word count of each chapter.
Additionally, the author seems to be a master in the art of contextual condensation. Through almost every line in every chapter, the reader is treated to fresh information on the world in which the characters inhabit at that point in time and, additionally, learn more about the main characters(husband and wife) through precise, condensed wording and narration.
All of these details are given, as said before, in a concentrated form that is presented in an easily understandable manner.
It should also be noted that, word flow from paragraph to paragraph is extremely good with almost no interruptions.
Due to these factors, I have given the author a full style score, as she has managed to incorporate elements of subtle introduction, contextual clues and condensed writing nigh perfectly in one brief story.
The only thing I would say this series misses is proper reader-character connection. Case in point, by the end of about 10 chapter you will lean extensively about the characters of Jason and Mara, however, you will no be able to predict them. You know how they characters act, however the lack of behavioral interaction, primarily due to this series being a crackpot of one-shots, has you wondering.this lack of connection to the characters has you expell merely a moderate level of worry during times of danger. (considering the fact that this series are primarily one-shots, this i - RznRoyal Road★★★ 3.0The story is filled with romance, prophecy and evil, that the author portrays a neutral or perhaps even good. Having a villainous lead does not mean having to abandon one's morals because we have a POV that is sympathetic with characters who are borderline pandering to the Witch's wickedness.
The story would have been easier to follow if the jumps in time were at least marked in some way, without that it is becomes difficult to gauge from scene to scene about what other events have transpired. Being lost in a story is not a good feeling for the reader. Next, very little is actually explained of the powers and there seems to be no limits to her powers or their accuracy. It takes all the tension out of the story and the acts grow even more heinous as time goes on yet everything is presented as morally just.
The premise is interesting, and it feels like this could have been a whole book, fixing many of the issues with its jumps. The first chapter could use a careful copyedit, but the others had less issues. Without going into spoilers the prose and the character developments were passable, but given a villainous lead I believe that an author should keep a constant POV or at least struggle or explain away how any of what the Witch does, magically or administratively, is possible. To be competent beyond one's ken and OP without reason are the basis of power fantasy, but this felt like an inversion of a children's fantasy down to its prophecies. Nothing is earned; it just becomes a rapidly escalating power fantasy. This is not what I would call high fantasy or slice of life either.
About half-way through was when I went from liking this to mild-disapproval as the actions got more and more unrelatable, unrealistic and the POV continued to dismiss Daramethe's actions as anything other than 'justified' or simply 'just' despite plenty of evidence to the contrary.
