Description

This will be published with Riverfolk Books in 2026 as a duology with several extra chapters and scenes.

I’ll update with a stub date when I have one!

Dante is going to be a very rich man. The only thing standing in his way is a single task: deliver the kidnapped crown princess across the continent to the drop-off location.

Join Dante and Prim as they travel their world of humans, fae, and shifters encountering friends, foes, dragons, and some very spicy peppers—not a euphemism—while attempting to conceal their own motivations and secrets.

While a romance set in fantasy, The Impossible Bounty also toes the lines of a whodunnit and incorporates themes of sex and love, murder and betrayal while also providing moments of comedy and inappropriate jokes. Expect a lot of twists and turns! It is written as a third person dual POV.

Now completed!

This is a very classic “royalty kidnapped” romantasy that keeps you very engaged throughout. Even though the romance category has pretty set ways as to who is going to end up with whom, it does not take away from it one bit, you still cheer for the love interest you like, and you get mad when it’s not them - and that is such a huge part of this genre.
The story itself is good; there is a lot of world-building and setup for political turmoil. Now, I’m only on chapter 7 so this review might be outdated in a couple of days as I get further, but I feel like the magic system is not quite explained yet. I have no idea what the rules are, but it does talk about being born (or not) with certain magic and abilities. I would love to see some clear limitations to that magic, maybe even some consequences for using them. I can’t wait to find out! This is really the only ding to the score for me, but as it is a major writing device that dictates much of the events. I am completely open to being proven wrong in the later chapters.
The sequence of events is well done, and the story flows without distractions. I am a huge fan of the POV of both Prim and Dante, although I like his POV better just as a personal preference.
The grammar is not distracting. I cannot say I saw any mistakes or awkward sentences.
Characters are a strong point in this story, there are quite a few of them, but it is clear who is a major one and who is in the background (cheering for the background boys.) One thing I really like is the dialogue is very believable and does not feel like a means to move the story along or dump a bunch of world-building info on the reader. There are likable and unlikable characters, which is very intentional, and I appreciate that in a story.
Now, let’s talk spice. It sneaks up on you. It does not warm you up. It just goes for it. I am the type of gal who needs to be taken to dinner first, so I would love to see the tension build! But, again, I am not that far in, and so far, the

Oh my GOD! That was a fun ride! Where should I start?!
Oh right. Category by category, haha.
Style: The way the author tells her story is very unique and interesting. Although there are no objective imperfections, some paragraphs felt a tad too complicated and wordy for my taste. This became a bit more obvious to me personally in the second half of the story, post-main twist.
Grammar: Flawless as far as I could tell. Don't take my reviews for grammar rating, I suck at that.
Story: Oooooh, boy! The story! I guess this book can be divided in two parts: The Bounty Arc and The Investigation Arc, with a few chapters to make the bridge of these sections. The first part is my favorite, with a solid dynamic between our two main characters. It’s fun that they are in some... dicey circumstances, to say the least. The journey is full of charm, the characters are tons of fun, and let me tell you, the sexual tension is through the ROOF!
However, there is what I call the "Main Twist" of the book in this section's end. To say the truth, I think that twist ended a pretty interesting ongoing drama between the main couple, replaced by a forced, if hypocritical "liar reveal" drama between them.
I found the Investigation Arc less intriguing than the first arc, although it still had its moments.
Unfortunately, the characters I found the most charming were kind of pushed out of the spotlight here in favor of a completely different cast I didn’t prefer (with some exceptions). As positives, even though I’m not into political drama so much, the progress of murders, suspects and twists were really engaging to follow.
How could it not end with all the monarchy being hanged!? VIVA LA REVOLUCIÓN! (Ok, this part is a joke. Though I'd love to see it happen)
And, lastly, I’ll say this - the spice in the Investigation Arc was IMMACULATE!
One last story peeve. I did think that a few story decisions read to me l

"Throughough history, men have left their mark behind, on walls, tablets of stone and paper. Their history. Their beliefs. Their imagination.". Me, i guess.
    EDITED AS OF LAST RELEASE:
The grammar has improved. There are close to no typos or errors to be found with a casual read. The vocabulary is constant and imaged, no typos or unchecked errors in my eyes. It is to note that it has grown a bit, as author is addind synonyms and intelligently brought up semantics.
The characters are classic of the genre, with a twist of their own. It makes them built on a familiar ground, while slowly extanding towards their very own unique characteristics. The given bits of lore and narration about the different socialities and power dynamics was a very intelligent way to further assuage their uniqueness. U have personally come to have strong opinions and feelings for most of the cast, which i rarely have.
The story is going a good pace - neither too slow nor too fast. As said in the previous point, the exposition is helpful to understand where we are and why. A lot of names was thrown in, but it never felt like not remembering right away would be an issue. The plot changes too, organically, according to how the story ptogresses: said progress happens satisfyingly fast, without ever hurrying.
The style is again classic. But here, we are talking about mastered classicism. Author must have taken a great amount of time to ensure the narration and dialogues are well balanced with scenery and exposition. I have also come to know that authors reviews and edits chapters before release, to ensure great quality.
My overall impression is having returned to the very first books i ever read on my own: the kind that got me into reading and authoring. It is nostalgic, like reuniting with an old frirnd: the friendship is unchanged, but a new adventute starts.
    Good job, baka.

Great story. Not my usual genre but story is intriguing and kept me reading. Love the character dynamics and the unraveling of all the backstory to build up the story development. Love the tension and mystery. Will continue to read this story and look forward to more from this author in the future.

Sidenote: I know the author, however, they don't know Im giving them a review. This review is made to be as unbiased as I can be.
Content Warning: Maybe some very light spoilers (in spoiler boxes)!!!
    Style:
While the writing itself is succinct and favors bluntness, the descriptions we do get paint vivid visuals. There's a frentic energy to the writing that's infectious; chapters were hard to put down when I started and only commenting really helped me keep a pace going, though I did finish the entire story in a few days. It reads well, everything is easily imagined, and  the only times I had problems following along were when it was late at night and I really needed to stop reading.
    Story:
The plot itself feels more like a fantasy adventure than a romance novel. There is romance, and a decent amount of it, but the romance does not feel like other romance novels. If you can trust me a little as I am a novice romance reader in my opinion, the romance feels more in line with how adults in today's age would seem to go about it: dating app to lust to a relationship. For me, the romance plot gave off a more adult feel, excluding the actual adult topics broached with the various hurdles the two characters had to deal with having a sort of modern day relationship parallel. However, the romance stuff does plateau after a certain point, I feel, and while it doesn't get stale, the rest of the plot gets more exciting.
The story flows well, there are stakes besides "will they won't they," and choices made are pretty consistent with characters. I want to talk more about the story but the story itself is more about the journey and the little moments, the small gestures made in the confidence of another, than the overarching plot and such, so I won't spoil that.
    Character:
There are only two characters who kind of don't get enough screentime imo: a certain girl's mother and the setting at large.
The setting gives off a Renaissance feel with some modern ideals set in a Middle Ages e

A unique take on an established genre that constantly finds stories heavily influenced both those considered “classics.”
From the get go, the story leaves the reader on the edge of their seat, scanning the page to see what lies ahead for the well-described characters.
I can’t wait to see where the story goes!

I really enjoyed this story because the dynamics between the main characters (and all the others as well) are well depicted and entertaining!
The pacing is great, it's so good when an author does not just add chapters/words/fillers for the sake of a longer story, but has clear objectives and sticks to them! Kudos!
My only suggestion would be regarding the magic part as someone else mentioned,
Mainly in terms of the lack of limits for the characters' gifts. This makes for an overpowered Dante and Blukke, which leads to essentially non-existent action scenes (which are already - to my taste - too few and far in between) as we know there won't be any struggle. Along that line, too bad Prim seems to be an awesome fighter but we never actually get to see her display her skills in an actual fight...
Anyways, having more restrictions on their abilities and thus allowing them to experience difficulties during these few scenes could add more to the palette of emotions (like fear, despair, confusion etc) that the characters feel and make us feel.
Nevertheless, I do realise this was not necessarily one of the main aims of the author, given the focus on character development which in that area delivered very well!
Finally, congrats again on completing a great story, I would love to read other stories set in the same world either about the side characters or even new ones!
