Description
After fourteen years of obsessively following a webnovel, Max was left disappointed by the ending, by life, and by a day that only got worse the longer it went on. Then he received a message. From the novel’s mysterious and long-silent author.Claiming the world he read about was real.Inviting him in. Max accepted. Reluctantly. He woke up not as Bjorn, the barbarian hero he’d followed since childhood, but as someone entirely unfamiliar:Harek, firstborn of a Great House and notoriously known as theGamble King. Not for good reasons. Even stranger, it’s beenseven yearssince the final chapter of the book. The world has changed. Harek’s body holds secrets of its own. Ones Max will come to understand throughmuch repetitionand he will have to use everything at his disposal to survive, navigate rising dangers, and carve out a new place for himself in a story that didn’t end when the book did. What to expect: So, this is a time-loop progression fantasy withlightLitRPG elements. It’s not quite a slow burn, but itdoestake its time, so I’d say the pacing sits right in the middle. There are three magic systems at play. Two are in-world: one inspired by xianxia cultivation, the other original and tied to the deeper setting. The third belongs to the MC alone (a function of his looping). Also, chapters can range anywhere from 2.5k to 25k words. Current release schedule: M-W-F If that's your jam (or close to it), then come along. I hope you enjoy the ride and thanks for reading :)

- grovekeeperRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Frankly this is a great story - good setting, good plot progression, slow reveal, great characters - everything is there. There is a learning curve and the MC being an archer is explained well through the diary. Every plot point is building towards something great which we know is coming - an isekai where they go and kill the demon king (or seven liches here). Just need to know his party characters more now. Great style - it is easy to read and flows really well. Great story - I am sad that I have to wait for more chapters now. Better than the re birth one, this one makes more sense and doesn't have the power creep. Great grammar - no errors which I could spot. Great characters - the author has a way of fleshing out characters without exposition but through dialogues - really good.
Spoilers ahead - some inconsistencies in the story.
There are some inconsistencies. The initial ambush had only the MC when we see more powerful men later on? The exact troop composition wasn't explained well. How many they were or how many were with the prince. Also, the MC didn't have to share his secret with the priests. Could've made up a lie. Also, he doesn't seem to be at all concerned about them knowing his secret. - Blyg998Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Time loop on Royal Road is a much-beloved trope since Mother Of Learning took the #1 spot, and this novel offers to take it to similar heights. It’s hard to fill an advanced review when a novel is this new, but I want this to blow up so the author writes faster.Grammar: The book is immediately set apart from most of the website by its correct grammar and punctuation. It’s professionally done and I could forget I’m reading a web novel.Style: It’s hard to compare this novel to any others. The magic system so far isn’t very explored but as of now it seems smoothly blended in to a low fantasy setting, with fights mainly focused on physical fighting as opposed to any complicated wizardry.Story:Unlike Mother of Learning, it seems like the time loops in this story each will match up to one objective, making up their own arc. This seems similar to the anime re:zero. The setting also borrows the trope of a disgraced noble who is transmigrated and has to redeem himself, like in “Sword Saint’s Reincarnation”Characters as of yet haven’t had much chance to develop themselves beyond the MC, but I trust that the cast is more than a set of cardboard cutouts. His mentor is already more of a non-mc character than you can find in many top novels
- Elodin97Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am loving the story so far, The dialogue and prose are excellent and the flow of the story very entertaining.
The isekai and timeloop trope is done in an interesting way that I have not seen before and the protagonist is written in a way that is much more believable than in other fictions I've read.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorites, Can't wait to see where the author takes us! - TorcallRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I’ve enjoyed the story so far and particularly how the author does the time loop where they kinda write an overview (hard to explain just go read it). The main character does genuinely seem to have a personality which is nice. Haven’t seen much of the magic system yet, though I imagine that will be explained in the next few chapters. The world building while it doesn’t quite feel fleshed out though I feel that we just haven’t got to that part of the story yet. Overall great start!!!
(go read it) - Void ElementRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have loved this story so far. I've read hundreds of stories and this one is in my top ten. I think this series will be a big hit.
The MC is awesome and relatable. Magic system has ups and downs. How he earns the magic is awesome. Knowledge as magic is interesting but not sure if it tracks completely, he's got all sorts of knowledge but the magic is barely usable. Regardless of the wonky mechanics, story wise, he earns his power and the pacing is well done.
The dragon spider (bro) seems ripped off of the "Road to Mastery" sidekick Brock (lil bro). But I do admit that the dragon nature makes it cooler regardless.
The writing is top tier. Feels real. Characters feel real. Even the side character have a depth that them that even MCs don't usually have.
The best part is the mystery of it all. The plotting is really well done to the point that you can't help but think about all the possibilities. - Ashman18Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I started reading the story because I thought it will be similar The Stubborn Skill-Grinder In A Time Loop, which is a novel I really loved. Although the novel wasn't similar, it was really enjoyable to read and I got really immersed in it. I found myself reading every single line carefully, which is something I haven't done in a while since there isn't a lot of good novels, especially battle scenes, which I skim read in other novels because they are boring.
I especially liked the way the worldbuilding is introduced, given at the right time and woven into the story, without it being forced or immersion breaking. I also like the character and his interactions, especially the insults and the humour.
I am also impressed on how the novel is technically a typical transmigration with time loop trope, but is unique enough to make it very interesting and enjoyable without it being very out of the pocked. - MrPajamasRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The writing and prose are definitely the highlights. Great flow, and even though it's packed with synesthetic elements and worldbuilding, it never gets exhausting to read.
I saw some people complaining about inconsistencies with things like the number of reroll's or whatever, but honestly it feels more like the kind of changes that happen when you rewrite and reimagine scenes and just miss a few details—nothing that actually ruins the immersion.
10/10, killer story. The endgame, or at least one of them, seems pretty clear already, so let's just enjoy the ride.
Haven't even finished Max's story properly and I'm already itching for Harek's isekai - Randomnameguest1949Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really like it. It is very simple yet fun time loop story feels alot like mother of learning where zorian didnt get exponentially stronger and stronger instead he worked for his power and built on his knowledge. the Mc is someone likeable and author doesn't waste time on cliche misunderstandings these stories suffer from.
- Vagrant4Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5It has the spark of a great story, you won’t feel it until you see it. Literal fireworks. I felt like this when i was reading other good work. It could be like a small whisper that tells you “ I fck with this” or “this sh£#t be good”
That is what i felt. unpredictable beast, truly. - MooshieDRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0The writing is good, and after chapter 11 I’m in a good spot to enjoy it goi by forward. I agree there’s some disconnectedness in the beginning with the struggle not really coming through bc the shine of unreal op-ness is a bit too bright. It foreshadows the mc’s general build for later, but just feels a bit too op for the complex character I feel the author is trying to build out for later.
If you skim the first couple chapters, then I think it’ll feel like a more palatable start. There’s still some op stuff that happens, but it’s to a level that seems feasible with the hints and reasons etc.
