For now Imma give it 5 stars, good job mate, I'm excited to see how this story develops, this has the potential of several novels but we need to see more content to give a more accurate review.
I hope we see at least 1 weekly chapter. Is there gonna be art?

I'm gonna leave my biased thoughts for last, let's go to the facts.
Style: I can imagine this style might not be your cup of tea but other aspects make this score seem irrelevant. It's not a laid back easy-to-pickup read.
Grammar: I know every writer develops their own wording and style when it comes to grammar and ignores basic English rules, but I don't find that annoying. It actually gives essence to what we're reading, especially the place and circumstances in which the MC finds itself. There are and will be a few errors but Jax takes care of them in minutes.
Story: This is the part where I think it outshines everything else, I've actually read more than what is available here on RR lol. I hope everyone else enjoys it the same way I did.
Character: Like I said, I've already read it and the last chapters Jax has been putting up are different from what I've, character development on Godrick and Alana has been sharpened.
Now for my biased thoughts, I've seen this guy in front of his laptop for months writing his *** off. He and everyone else who writes on this platform, kudos. You guys deserve more love. I joined recently but the content and the community are amazing in RR, it reminds me of my first days starting to watch anime lol. Love you, Jax, keep up the great work.

This novel managed to hold a lot of my attention in the first few chapters. It has a mysterious atmosphere and has a well done world building. I love the amount of detail the author puts into the chapters that delve a little deeper into the world. From the beginning, the story shows how wide the universe is and that the MC has a long way to go. In short, this novel showed a lot of potential right from the start and I can't wait to explore more of her world and universe.

Overall: I am rating this a 5 star because of my extremely high opinion of the story and characters. I recommend people try it out.
This story is an extremely fascinating, very intellectual work. It reads almost like an account of a priest during the reformation or thirty years war discovering that the rules of the universe don't fit the rules they were taught by the church, but alternate magical world version. The main character, Godrick, is a well meaning man with a desire to help the world and faith in the church, but during a semi-routine service rendered, comes to learn that the nature of the universe is not what was taught to him. His convictions were already at odds with the teachings of the church that limited him in his ability to help others, and so he casts aside his bindings and begins to seek the magical underpinnings of reality, a journey that is extremely fascinating to watch.
Character: Their are really only two characters by the 10k word mark-- Godrick and Alana. Their are technically others but they are very much background. As to Alana, I could take her or leave her, as her brash potty-mouthed warrior woman personae (and maybe possibly leaving her children even though the ex-husband deserves what he gets). But she is distinct from the other main character, unique and different and flavorful from Godrick.
As to Godrick himself, he is a fascinating man, obviously trying to do what is right for both his faith and his people and dealing with it in a real, and not easy, manner when they conflict. He also has the same rough personality I felt when discovering the new as a child, and I love this character bunches.
Grammer: Not perfect, but close enough to not warrant down-scoring.
Story Score: This was also extremely good. The world building is absolutely top notch, and the story flows in an interesting an linear manner from chapter to chapter (although not necessarily paragraph to paragraph, see style below). What's happening and why is very clear, but

This is a really good story about a holy priest, straying from god and learning forbidden magic. The set up has been great so far and I only see it getting better as the story progresses.
Style: The style is pretty good and easy to follow along with. The only problem I noticed there was one chapter with double lines after each paragraph, which is a very easy fix.
Grammar: Grammar was very good with not many noticable mistakes. Easy to read and doesn't take away from the flow of the story whatsoever.
Story: Story is very cool and intriguing. Following along with Godrick as he uncovers the secrets of forbidden magic was cool to read about.
Characters: Characters are very entertaining and held my attention throughout this read. Godrick is really good and we get to dive into his mind state a lot as he learns about mana, demons, mystical fruits, and other things. I really liked Mrs. Goodrich as well, a fiesty red head housewife, who Godrick has been tasked with dealing with, after being cursed by a demon of sorts.
Overall, this is a very good read and one of the best new stories I've read on this site. Highly recommend you check this one out!

With vivid imagery and a rich world history, you are bought to Aerden. In this world are alluring characters that make entertaining interactions. The touch of realness of characters feels like people we have encountered them in our lives. Readers are able to relate to the inner turmoil of the main character as his beliefs waiver, but still hope for the good of the people will remain.

I quite enjoyed The overall reading experience even though since I've gotten into writing I've hatred reading. I even have one of Brandon Sanderson's books sitting next to me that I haven't touched in like two months.
I originally was reading it for a review swap but lost track of time and just read it for pure entertainment.
Style/Grammar: I'm putting these both in one. I Love the way this is written in third person, if it was in first person I feel like it would not be as enjoyable. Grammar is also consistent with the way it is told.
Story: I'm giving this one a 4.5/5. I absolutely love western fantasy but I despise anything relating to do with the huge modern wave of anime/manga/manhua/webnovel plots. And I mention that because I keep getting this tug from the back of my mind that this is going to get influenced by that a tad too much. Nothing concrete for me to say is getting these subconscious thoughts/predictions. But they just kept popping up the past three parts.
Character/world-building: Gets a perfect score. Its a unique world with a main character whose circumstances I quite enjoy. There isn't too much world-building in one go and instead its trickled in over time which is the best way.

Overall: The first wizard is a story that many fantasy and DND fans can enjoy, built around the discovery of magic in a world that has banned it.
Style: This is a hard one for me, it works really well for the story at hand, but it can feel Shakespearian at times with how it reads. It can be analytical and dry at times with action mixed in to keep things going, but I will need to read more to see weather or not this story is for me.
Grammar: I've seen nothing that's taken me out of the story.
Story: This is the best part in my opinion. A DND style wizard who has to learn everything from scratch, even the concept of mana, with little to no foreknowledge to work off of. Then send him off with barely a cantrip.
Character: This one is one with potential. At the time of this review the MC hasn't really started the adventure part of the story yet, so the only pressure we've seen him under was during the opining exorcism. It's also been stated that his faith has been severely shaken, but I have yet to really see that affecting him yet. There is also a companion character that has been introduced, and it seems like she'll balance out the MC's tendencies, but as of the latest chapter things have yet to get to that point so I'm holding out. But with what I've seen of her I think it'll be fun.

This review is based on the seven chapters that were available at the time.
Before you, we have a story about how a simple exorcism turns into something far more dangerous, and our MC ends up being thrust into a whirlwind of different adventures, threatening both his life and perhaps his fate.
Style. Sometimes it feels a little bit off-putting. Some sentences sounded a bit weird to hear when I spoke them out loud. When you binge read the story, it is harder to notice, but when a new chapter drops and you read through it, it becomes more evident.
The descriptions and use of vocabulary, however, are magnificent. Just by reading the story, it is really easy to picture the whole place and the action. Solid work here.
The author also cleverly puts various legends in between scenes, sucking us into a weird form of flashback. It works surprisingly well and does not break the flow of a chapter.
Story. So far, intriguing and interesting. The MC is proactive yet holds on to faith at his core. A sudden encounter with an unknown type of otherworldly creature comes off as believably eldritch, and the events that spiral into happening after that link to the overall story. All in all, I have no complaints.
Worldbuilding. Good on every front. From interesting magic to dangerous spiritual creatures to an interesting take on the church, everything is easily crafted to hook you in.
Grammar. I am a non-native English speaker, so take it with a grain of salt. There are occasional mistakes here and there, but the author fixes them almost immediately. They also fixed one of the earlier glaring issues with the story, making it more pleasant to read. Solid four and a half stars here.
Character. So far, we have mostly focused on the MC, and he is stunning. His flowing verbosity, clever wits, and quick thinking easily make him endearing to read and root for. The rest of the cast has yet to show themselves, but the supposed secondary MC also comes off as a rather cool character in the chapter

Overall: While I had some issues with style and format, the plot and stakes kept me reading and wondering what the rest of this world could be like.
Style: I can't say that I am a big fan of the structure for how information is delivered. Short paragraphs can help with keeping a story feel immediate and fast-paced, but with the large amount of text devoted to worldbuilding, they feel a bit rough. That said, setting the scene is where this story really shines, as you really feel like you are there with the characters, whether in a peasant's home or in a different plane of existence.
Grammar: Could use some work, but there wasn't anything that made the story difficult to read.
Story: Good stuff here. With a title like "Advent of the Arcane," I was expecting a powerful magic user right from the start, but here there is a man discovering magic on his own in a world hostile to the concept. Combined with the good character-work, you immediately are drawn into Godrick's story and want to see how he manages to discover even more of the arcane arts.
Characters: There is a great dynamic between the two main characters, even from their first scene together. We're introduced to Godrick right off as by-the-books and well-meaning, but not exactly devoted to everything his organization stands for. The internal thoughts and narrative shown gives us a great idea of who he is and what he is like in just one chapter, and then not long after, we're introduced to his complete opposite. I haven't read much of Alana's chapters, but her scene with the elemental explains everything you need to know about her and the fun kind of MC dynamic she and Godrick will have.
