What you can expect:
-High quality writing
-Engaging story telling
-Complex Character development
-Rich world building
Considerations:
Keep in mind my chapters are each "Epic's" and are often very long (hence the lowered number of chapters posted per week). Please feel free to write a review and leave a rating. I am trying my best to write as good as I can. I will also be consistently updating the "G.E.A threat classification handbook", serving as an extended lore book for my story. I highly recommend you give that a read to learn more about the universe of "The Dark Frontier". Stay tuned readers!

- MegaVibe2023Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0A enjoyed this read quite a bit. The author's ability to build a interesting world is apparent from the first line. If you enjoy dark Sci-fi adventures, this has got it all and wrapped up in a glorious bow of blood and guts. What sets this dark Sci-fi adventure apart is its unapologetic exploration of the MC's psyche under extreme circumstances. The moral dilemmas faced by the character and the ethical boundaries he's cross all serve as a mirror to ourselves if we were to be in his shoes. The author forces us to confront uncomfortable truths about power, control, and the lengths we're willing to go to prove dominance when that power is unchecked.
- GallegReaderRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I found "The Dark Frontier" to be a thrilling roller coaster ride through a universe teeming with cosmic entities, alien landscapes, and high-stakes battles. The author's vivid descriptions and intricate world-building are commendable, painting a rich narrative of interstellar intrigue that pulls you in from the first page.
The protagonist, Grimm, is a complex character with a dark past and an even darker occupation. His journey is filled with danger and moral dilemmas, and it's fascinating to see him grapple with his inner demons while battling literal monsters and godlike entities. His evolution from a ruthless predator to a character capable of introspection and change is a highlight of the narrative.
However, the book isn't without its flaws. The narrative can be dense at times, with heavy exposition and complex terminology that might be challenging for some readers. Although I did not have an issue with this personally, I believe other readers may. The pacing is well executed though, the author allows the MC some time to breathe every now and then with character development set pieces that are very refreshing to read.
The dialogue is another highlight. I feel like most of the characters speak in a believable way for the setting and when the emotional parts hit, they HIT and it adds a level of depth that is not present with many amateur writers. I will say that while generally well-written, it can occasionally slip into cliché territory. Characters sometimes speak in grandiose monologues that, while dramatic can be hit or miss. Some don't always feel natural or believable. A more subtle approach to dialogue could make these monologues feel more relatable.
In terms of readability, the book is a mixed bag. The complex narrative and dense exposition can be challenging for beginner readers, but the vivid descriptions and thrilling action sequences make it extremely compelling. The author's use of language is impressive, painting a vivid picture of the cosmic setting - HispanicMan19Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The chapter begins very strong with an engaging opening from a third party perspective that definitely provides an appreciatedchange of pace for sci-fi readers. The element of horror displayed from Grimm's imposing aura entices me to read what's comming next; he's a unique protagonist for certain. Additionally, I thought the diction and imagery provided set an intensely detailed stage for the chapter, definitely a strong suit of the book so far.
- rachelbobachelRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love how captivating this world and the characters are. This story is perfect for people who like space/space travel, action, and fascinating backstories. The detailed explanations, thoughts, and activities make it easier to imagine this playing out like a movie in my head. It is a very fun story and I can't wait for the next chapter!!!! <3
- NovaGrenadaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Review of "The Dark Frontier"
First and foremost, this is one of the most metal books I have read on this platform. The MC is a straight up menace and I love it. I can tell there's something deeper going on with him and I'm excited to see how he develops. Kudos to the author for crafting such an expansive universe as well, I can tell he put some time into the world building. The overall depth, detail, and care in the writing is impressive too.
The pacing? Mostly spot on. There were moments that had my heart racing as I devoured every word on the page. Sure, there were a couple of slower spots, but they felt like necessary breaks in the action. It gave me time to soak in the details of the world.
Dialogue-wise, I was really impressed. The interactions, especially those involving Grimm, felt genuine and added depth to the characters.
As for readability, if you're a hardcore sci-fi or super-hero fan, you'll probably eat this up. But if you're new to these genre, brace yourself. It's a deep dive, and you might need to come up for air now and then. But stick with it, because the payoff is worth it. - ThreePenguin10Royal Road★★★★★ 5.01st chapter was amazing
wow what an amazing 1st chapter of your 1st book. Its a masterpiece. Keep up the good work MellowMike :) also can't wait for more chapters in your series. Also not gonna spoil any of this gotta read it on your own. I'd rate this book ⭐️10/ 900. ⭐️ - FernicusRoyal Road★★★ 2.5packed with detail and descriptive scenes.
but its all being given through exposition and omnipresent perspectives.
everyone has a name and talks a certain way and i must know it.
the author would greatly benefit from embracing the idea of a imited perspective and trickle feeding exposition through character driven experiences.
theres a great expansive world there and lots of effort has gone into crafting it. but i feel like a closer more intimate limited perspective could really bring that world to life.
its a difficult read it its current form and as the author expressed that its targeted to younger readers. I think its important that readability be adressed by simplifying descriptions and tightening up the narration to just the immediately relevant information rather than focusing on the story setting.
i see some promise but i think some issues need adressing to make it an easier read.
