Description

Jane was supposed to become an archmage. Born with once-in-a-generation talent, she spent her childhood mastering impossible spells and being on track to join the handful of mages who shaped the very fate of the kingdom. Then she burned out. Now she's in a mountain village nobody from the capital ever visits, trying to turn a dusty cottage into a working bakery. As she makes new friends, masters baking, and stumbles through the beginnings of her first-ever romance, she begins to find what her all-magic life was missing. However, when the town develops problems that only magic can solve, Jane has to figure out how to make the magic and the mundane work together, or else risk abandoning some parts of her identity forever.

It just does. It’s cozy, but being cozy isn’t necessarily the point of the book. Watching Jane figure things out and discover more of herself is a treat. It kind of feels like a blessing, I don’t know.watching her discover what it means to really live a fulfilling life feels good. And maybe as an almost thirty zillennial it hits a little closer for that reason.I dunno it’s nice! Friends, fun, and food! And watching her bake makes me want to! CanImake some bread??? Now I wanna try!!!I’ve made a quick bread (banana bread), but that’s not the same. I’ve made the odd cookie.I wanna make bread!I’m intimidated by it though, but now I’m less intimidated.Kneading and such takes time, but it’s worth it. Or I could do a focaccia who knows.I’m happy. Thanks RC Joshua!

Cozy, comfy, reading it with a big smile on my face the whole time. If you liked the other works from this author you will like this one as well. R.C. continues to be trustworthy. I look forward to reading more about the adventures of Jane, the socially awkward cinnamon roll archmage.

I think this story is perfect if you enjoy relaxing with a wholesome bunch of characters dealing with day to day shenanigans. I adore all of them and I quite enjoy the journey the MC is on!
Well, I'm also biased because I'm a sucker for wholesome slice-of-life stories with a tinge of romance, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
Lovely story, author, I can't get enough of it!

I really enjoyed demonworld bobba shop. And this one feels the same. Nice, cozy and a bit of magic.
The main character is nice and the side characters all have a depth in their role.
I am looking forward to the rest of this story.
Keep going author. Just be sure to not get a burnout. 😜

aaaand, I'm here with my update... it's the same day as my original review when I started, except now I've read all there is to read. Really, need I say more? I just spent the last few hours binge reading.  Please give me more!

RR 5/5 stars.  By professional standards it's 5/10minimum, maximum not yet clear.Good first chapter.Establishes character relatability, motivation, setting, story expectations, and multiple plot hooks, in that order, without over explaining or breaking immersion.Grammar, prose, and dialogue ranges from acceptable to very good.I haven't read enough to give a proper review.  This is the sort of story that needs time to grow to establish it's worth, but the trajectory of chapter 1 indicates it won't need much time to stand out.At a bare minimum, the author knows what they are trying to do, communicated that clearly, and is succeeding at that so far.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book, and I’m thrilled there is a sequel.
The personal issues of the heroine, magical though they are, are very relatable, and it’s a pleasure to see her grow as a person. The adventure plots are excellent. Exciting, just complex and solid enough for a really satisfying reading experience. I also adore the minor characters. All of them have depth and personality.
The only thing missing is fan merchandise in form of a cookbook/baking book.

Once again the author presents a cozy slice of life story, this one being someone who leaves a life of fame and fortune to live an ordinary life, in this case choosing to become a baker.  It is very well written with an interesting plot and enough energy to keep the plot moving and enough humor to lighten the mood.  At chapter 11 I can already tell this will be a favorite and am looking forward to continuing to follow Jane as she grows in skill, discovering with her the interesting things in a life of loving what you are doing while surrounded by friends.

It's a feel-good story about a college burnout mage that gets dropped into her aunt's bakery in a relatively small town. The cast of supporting characters is small, distinct, and growing, and every single person we've met so far has been just, like, a good person. Its nice. A sprinkle of magic, a dash of amateur (for now) baking, and a heaping handful of small-town hospitality.

Just saw this and ran over. Finished all 8 chapters in one sitting. Loving the world building and the very real feeling of somebody so incredibly burned out finally getting a glimmer of hope in a new life and throwing themselves headfirst into it.Laughed out loud when the first recipient book showed up. I've got some family recipes like that and they're about as useful, as well as it reminding me of a couple of recipe blogs I've read. 😀Looking forward to where this goes,  as it will inevitably cause me to think that I should really try some baking myself.(I tried three different baking related puns for the review title before giving up)
