If the machine of government is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then, I say, break the law.- Henry David Thoreau

In a world where both magic and supernatural powers coexist, Felix Pagonis is a complacent but powerful psychic who is merely content with using his powers for himself. Despite facing blatant discrimination against his race, he leads a relatively easy life working as a part-time law enforcer in an elite task force: the Guardian Council.

But all that will change when his colleague, Gaius Deusdedit, discovers a unique spellcraft that traces back to their world’s sinister origins during one of their missions. A reluctant Felix is dragged into a plot that may very well plunge their world into an eternal, literal hell.

Facing a powerful criminal syndicate as well as sinister forces in the shadows, the duo will soon find themselves losing a lot more than they can handle.

What can I say? This story is a continuous series of twists and turns.
Let's start with the style, which is fluid and enjoyable. It's different from other RR stories, but definitely excellent.
The story is extremely well-crafted, with solid worldbuilding and a world that truly feels alive. The plot is extremely solid, and its strongest point—the injustice of the world—is something the reader feels empowered against. There's no feeling of
"If I were here, all this would have been resolved by now."
The reader can only hope for the best. The magic system is explained coherently and isn't overly complex. The world is vast, and the organization demonstrates how difficult it is to manage a state in a world devastated by its own past.
The characters are all excellently developed, from the protagonists like Felix and Gaius, to the supporting characters like Kleo and Vulcan, and even the villains, henchmen, monsters, and so on. Every character is not dull, no matter what they are.
I had no problems with the grammar. Even though I'm not a native English speaker, I read the chapters without any problems, so I give it full marks here too.
If you like fantasy, this story is for you!
-Review updated after reading the first part.
I once again congratulate the author for writing a story that's both entertaining, enjoyable, and impactful! I'm also updating my review to a full and well-deserved 5 stars! I can't give it less, but I'd give it more if I could.
The plot twists are always perfect and unpredictable, the characters are fantastically developed, and I can't help but mention the beauty of the fight choreography.
I highly recommend reading this book!
