I had found myself mindlessly scrolling through a list of potential reads on Friday night when I stumbled across this absolute gem. A few chapters in and suddenly I’m on volume 3 and it’s Saturday night. After a unfortunate reluctant sleep break I found myself at the beginning of volume 5 come Sunday evening, desperately wishing I held the full story in my hands. The characters have me constantly asking: “What’s next?”, “What happened/happens?”, and “Who’s going to cause trouble next?”. While there are a few bits of spelling off here and there, and I wish for more of each chapter, that could very well be attributed to my growing greed for more of this fantastic story. I find myself torn between feeling unlucky for finding this story before it’s been completed, and thus craving more, and lucky for finding it at all so I may bask in the wonderful prose of Lady Amaranth. More and more I eagerly anticipate reading of Isaac’s background, the whims of the pantheons, and the nigh-inevitable conflicts they seem to create. I’ve come to realize I’ve been enchanted and bewitched, and I can’t seem to bring myself to regret it. I find myself simply…dying…for more. All told, Encore! Encore! Encore!

As of writing this I'm on chapter 96 of the 1st volume.
The story's title gives off a very grim dark vibe, which is not the case at all.
We have a DND inspired setting with light litrpg elements. There's a system, levels and all that stuff, but the characters need to have a ritual cast to be able to see the system status.
The story is a reincarnation fantasy in which the main character is reborn with a shadow sorcerer type of class and higher than average stats. His memories from Earth mostly gone, so I don't expect any technological revolution.
The author takes her time with world building, giving us small amounts of information over time, so there's not overexposure or info dump.
My only complaint about this, so far, is the grammar. There are small mistakes in almost every chapter, so I don't think the author has anyone to proofread and edit things out professionally. Big mistakes, which have been happening less frequently than on earlier chapters, I just comment as edit suggestions and the small ones are worth glossing over for the story.
Edit as of starting of volume 4: the grammar is significantly cleaned up, some small mistakes here and there only, so I'm bumping up my rating for this par
Overall a good series and worth a read, even if, as stated previously, the title doesn't set the correct expectation (at least so far and I'm almost done with the 1st book).

Absolutely loving this story. Just finished binging it, and it’s an absolute banger.
The beginning is a little bit rough, and the initial character relationships almost seem like they are mashed together purely for the sake of story. However, it rapidly jumps in quality somewhere around the middle of the first book iirc, and for the majority of the story so far it is one of the best stories I have read.
Looking forward to continuing to read this story in the future!
Edit: I also have to mention that I love how the story is set up. No spoilers, but the take on the biography aspect mentioned in the synopsis is excellent.
Edit 2: If I were to pick one part of this story I dislike, it would have to be
the author choosing to transfer the pseudo-soul of Kahtesh (the bone dragon) into the body of Shamsha, creating Shamesh.
While I do understand and even enjoy giving the character spells and the ability to speak, I would have vastly preferred retaining the body of Kahtesh, even if it was slightly adjusted to account for the fact that the two had been combined in a way. Hell, the skeleton dragon on the cover of this story is the entire reason I initially began reading this book.
Other than that, though, what I said above still stands

Loving it so far, just finished chapter ten and can't wait for the next one(s) to come out. I personally quite enjoyed the spell chants and when one of the characters nuked themselves and their assailents because I would like to think that i would have also done the same.

I read a lot. Like, a LOT. So I know how to pace myself. This one keeps grabbing me into "Just one more chapter" mode. The characters are engaging, with fun quirks. They also gain increasing depth as time goes on. Definitely a fun read.,Also, I love it when Isaac starts to reference ANYTHING from his old life and gets a headache. The fun part? He doesn't remember why.

This ticks all go the boxes I am looking for in a fantasy/romance novel. The characters are complex, the grammar is great, the humor is well placed, as well as the story being unique! Even though it contains a reincarnation element, it is done in a more unique way than most the carbon copy stories I have read. I am enjoying the world building that the author has done so far, and am looking forwards to seeing how they continue to build on it. I highly recommend anyone to give this a try, as I do think this is a quality novel so far! No harem is a big plus! I am looking forward to more chapters!

I absolutely love it! One of the view stories that I subscribed on Patreon to support the author, which in itself is the highest rating I can give.
This has it all. A good idea, unique and realistic characters, a plan and an author that clearly loves their own story and it shows. Even the author notes and interludes all add to the story and make it feel alive. The idea to write as the daughter of the two main characters is really smart and original. It also plays into the general vibe of the story: Adventurous and exciting yet light hearted and funny. There is never the question of „will the protagonists make it“. You know they will. They plot focuses on how they will make it. Its strong to stronger, but they are not above everyone else. There are challenges and beings stronger than them.
Isaac is an amazing protagonist. Charismatic, selfish, proud and pragmatic, but not cruel and very caring to those he deems close - with a flair for dramatics. Lenna is stoic, disciplined and kind. They make a great duo and the romance was handled perfectly.
For me this is one of those rare stories that pulls you in and one day you suddenly realize you’ve caught up, without noticing how much you’ve already read or getting bored. Hope this gets more attention, it deserves it. Maybe a new cover would be a good idea - something more eye catching and … epic than the current one.

Where to beging with this tale? Let us work our way down from technical, to theatrical, just so I can keep track.
    Grammar
Grammar within this tale is almost always perfect, and whatever imperfections are found are stomped out with ruthless efficiency. While some reviewers may commemt that more sophisticated words or sentence structure are always necessary, I am of the opinion that such things should only be used when necessary, or not at all: my review thusly reflects this.
    Characters
The characters within this story have clear flaws, which are represented faithfully and truthfully to how each character is portrayed. I do not believe I have seen anything I would consider to be a major break in character, and 'break in character' will be mentioned in style as well. Isaac is absolutely an entitled shitlord, who cares about those closest to him and no one else. Only pragmatic when it suits him, and theatrical anytime otherwise. I shall not spoil anyone with mentions of other characters, nor their import: but they too have defined personalities.
    Story
I love when a story finds people as opposed to being sought out. Being led by the nose from one place to another at all times is acceptable in cultivator stories and grand adventures: but always feels like a play on a stage than story. However: having defined goals and then discovering how to achieve them, with out being able to solve everything linearly? That is far more realistic, and something some stories are simply incapable of providing.
    Style
Now: here is where I am actually going to gush, and 'break character' myself. The style this book takes to its tale, as well as the world it is within, are based on some rather draconian TTRPG elements, and I am here for it. Hardcore leveling, training, and more abound. But while all these elements are executed flawlessly, this is not why I am giving a fully 5 star rating as opposed to 4.5. No: The Author. They are why I giving an extra 0.5 to this rating. Now, technically, thi

I don't really write many reviews, actually this is my first one on royal road, but I really liked this story and want to see more of it, so I'm leaving a few of my thoughts.
From the title, this may seem like a really grimdark and edgy story, but from my point of view, this is a mostly lighthearted novel with aspects of fantasy, comedy, romance and action. I mean, there are some heavy moments, but it doesn't negate the mostly nice feelings that it brings me.
The action scenes are great and the fantasy aspect is well develloped, as expected from a novel that is basically set on DnD.
One aspect that I liked is that there isn't a big emphasis on numbers and stat sheets, because recently I've been crying tears of blood every time I read something that looks like a goddamn excel spreadsheet. The numbers on this are important, of course, it's set on DnD, but they aren't the deciding factor, hell, until chapter 71 of the second book (which is where I'm at when writing this review)
he is like at most half the level of his opponents.
The only critique I can think of while not trying to hard to find faults in it is that it lacks an end goal, something that the protagonist strives to do. We know that he
becomes a full on demigod by the end of the story, as that is shown to us in the interludes,
but that isn't exactly his goal, it just happens along the way. Maybe something will be shown in the future, but for now it is a fault I could find. It doesn't really bother me that much, as the writer does a good job of keeping the reader captivated and wanting to know more, but it could become a problem later.
To wrap this up, I'd say that anyone that likes DnD, or just fantasy in general, with a bit of romance and comedy, should give this a go for a few chapters, and if you like them, follow it up, because it gets even better as it progresses.

Even when I was still at the early chapters, I knew I needed to write a review just to show my appreciation (I rarely do cause I'm lazy). Then I figured I should wait until I'm deep into the story enough to start writing it. Don't wanna be too hasty in my judgement. And now here I am.
Before I started reading, I don't know why I was expecting a story that's constantly full of actions, where the MC struggles with his life eighty percent of the time, riddled with a bunch of dark and despairing moments, and characters who can be potential traitors surrounding the MC. Maybe it's the title? It sounds, well...dark.
But no, this story is not at all what I had expected. In a good way. I realized that early on. The tone of it turns out to be kinda lighthearted.
In the early chapters, there's actually quite a lot of action, but that eventually peters out after MC reaches civilization. And though he's still not completely safe there, the story quickly tones down the action from then on, and the slice of life arc begins.
I actually also did not expect a lot of slice of life moments, since, silly me, I didn't notice the tag lol.
But I enjoyed it. Am still enjoying it. The vibe I've been getting from this story is, well, comforting I guess would be the best word for it. Even the action moments where the MC is on the brink of death didn't get my heart pounding like crazy. Those scenes are still exciting to read, but they are pretty tame in my opinion. At least compared to other, more extreme stories.
But it's actually nice to read a story where I'm not at risk of getting a heart attack every few chapters lol.
That's not to say it's boring. It does have exciting moments that balance out the slower slice of life chapters.
Edit: yeah volume 3 definitely has a lot more...violence
Even the romance is pretty grounded and free of drama. I like that. As a romance enthusiast myself, I appreciate the author taking their time developing it without completely neglecting it. I always love a we
