Tavern Cat

Description

Dying and being reborn in a fantasy world as a hero destined to kill the Demon King to prevent a great war is some people's greatest dream. Others, however, may prefer to sit around, relax, take a few naps, and ignore the impending doom. And hey, if such a 'hero' gets reborn as a cat, what's gonna stop them from doing all that? Finding a warm home filled with food, gossip, and comfort sounds a whole lot easier than putting in the work to stop a war.

Updating weekly, allegedly. Constructive criticism is appreciated as this is my first story!

A good story and I cant wait to see what else is in store for Soot! I've always liked storys about cats and isekais and im glad you are exporing this combined topic in the best of ways. I also cant wait to see what other storys you create as this is your first!

    Must I say more?
Story is well written with a funny and interesting premise. Although its only just started I would say the pace feels about right. Things are happening, the MC is gradually learning things, and events in the world he's in are still moving (even if he doesn't particularly care about them).
The MCs owner works in what's basically fantasy world retail and the rude customers she greets are disapointingly realistic. While this is annoying, it makes parts of the chapters very much relatable and the heartwarming moments all the more touching (seriously, what I would give to have a cute cat cheer me up after a bad day).

I am really liking the book so far, and can't wait for more chapters, love that the main character is a smug asshole cat, its very entertaining. and I can't wait to read more of it... I need to get this up to 50 words so I am just gonna keep taking, no body stop me, look at me go, I am typing so much and there is nothing you can do about it, I am just gonna keep going and going, look at all of these words!

Wow a great story. I really enjoyed it. This story could go in all sorts of ways as the background has been set up with many underlying parts functioning unseen like the beginning of a great novel. Top marks for the set up, let's see how it turns out.

I don't usually feel this pumped to write a review but here goes:
This has been, so far, a really nice laid back fantasy slice of life with a little action to tide it over. The world building and character development is a little slower than usual but the style, setting and main character really make this a feature rather than a detriment. The core cast of characters are somewhat interesting even with minimal exposition but we have time to get to know them and can enjoy the revolving door of alternate characters in the mean time.
The MC is one of my favourite characters from royal road of all time. I love the idea of a cat that will fight a god in order to sleep more and relax. I love that their lazyness doesn't keep them from doing what is right, and that, even when they realise they have the potential to have great power for mimimal effort their resolve is unwavering in their dismissal.
The MC has a duality and contradiction to them as both a iseki hero in a litRPG and a layabout contented with their lot. This is refreshing. This duality means we could see crazy OP stuff from the MC or nothing of note. Likewise, the story has the potential to go anywhere from tales of playful hyjinx and helping around the guild to a grand epic of a cat fighting gods and dragons. That excites me. Write on, dear author! I beg of thee!

It has a cat in it as a main character, it has a Demon King, it has video game elements. How can a story be more perfect than this?
With a nice judgemental element to the cat that all cats have, and a "better than thyne" attitude, the main character is, in fact, a cat. As this is a magical world, I'm unsure if the black cat superstition is a thing, but I can certainly say I was very, very sad when I realized I had to wait for the next chapter, as this story is great.
I'd call this... Slice-Of-Life, Fantasy, LitRPG, Isekai... and that's about it. It's perfection.
Edit: Wtf is wrong with me? I totally missed out on that title pun, it was right beneath my nose. I fixed it, don't worry.

This is a story about a person who gets turned into a cat. He acts like an intelligent cat should. Top marks for making a cat the main character. More main characters should be cats. Cats are great. Best pet 10/10. Even so he gets into plenty of cat like fun and gets cat powers since this is LitRPG, while still being a cat.

The story as of now is short, yet nice.
There is neither much tension, nor some epic story, yet there is nothing to dislike. The story of a cat that could go basically anywhere from this point, both the story and the cat. It's cute, but not enough to be too much, a perfectly dialed dose of niceness. It has a story, although at this point of time, only the beginning of one, but that is more than some other fictions.
It doesn't need much else. A nice relief it is.
Hey author, continue like this for at least a hundred chappies and I'll be ya boy.

Tavern Cat is an amazingly done isekai with a twist, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it- all 16 Chapters. Sadly it seems that PrimalSoup has dropped writing the book, as it hasn't been updated in over a year.
The Story itself is interesting and different and made me want to keep on reading more and more, which was sadly cut off short by the lack of chapters. I hope that PrimalSoup will pick this book up again and keep writing.
The MC is really entertaining, and I love the cat aspect of things. If the story was bad, I would read for the MC alone, he was that interesting. I especially love how the MC is protective but doesn't like to admit it, and would prefer to sleep out his days than save the world.
Grammar was not a massive problem while reading this, and I didn't notice many spelling mistakes, and even then, they didn't take away from the read at all.
This story is a fun, quirky difference from the regular isekai fantasy stories, and I hope that PrimalSoup comes back and keeps writing it. This story was a rising star, and would doubtless have done even better as a full story.

Pretty short currently, but nice. Just a straightforward story about a lazy cat in a tavern so far. It's cute, lots of fun, and well written. Soot gives off wonderful smug cat energy, and has a title to match. Looking forward to seeing where this goes, I'm really enjoying it so far.
