When a demon executive in Hell decided the laylines running under the sleepy town of Middlin needed to be pitched black, the plan was simple and straighforward: flood the town with fantastics and let chaos reign. What he didn't count on was the presence of former vampire, Bastian Bell. After his botched attempt at turning back into a human more than fifty years ago, Bastian Bell was content running the local library and blending into the remarkably unfantastic populace of Middlin. Until a vampire tried to suck his blood, and then woke up human. Now Bastian has a former vampire living in his house, a flood of fantastics threatening his small town, and a hope for the one thing he was told he'd never get - being human.
