For now readers ,Don't get put off by initial smut chapters , because this is author's first contracted novel so he made some mistakes , but smut does not dominate the story , the plot dominates the story , and the story , plot and characters are very good
This was one of the hidden gems for me
Harem is very nice here and all female characters have great depth and story behind them and the Mc is very realistic person but his character arc throughout the novel is really great to watch , he was already good from the start just gets better as for cultured people( like me 🌚)they also don't have to worry because author doesn't forget the occasional smut which is great according to me as it doesn't break the flow of the story and they are 🔥
If you guys any queries just ask since I have caught up with story this far

It’s a work done right at Every angle the story is intriguing and the way he transverse from a Normal Boy to a King, The relationship and yeah this is not a Novel where the MC Uses the Power of friendship or shit like that He works hard for whatever shit he got the Fight Scenes are Epic I love the Side Characters the build up to most of the Relationships are also beautifully done but I do think in the Aspect of Real Diplomacy it’s a Bit Lacking but Overall it’s 100% worth the read and your time last but not the Least there are no Shitty Chain Villains all The Bad Guys have a Good reason to be and if you think of it from their perspective they might be right Just saying. Past Relationships also Plays a Major role in the this novel tho. I think I’m Giving out too many spoilers 😂. The novel gets better as the Story Continues I mean with the Dialogue and Different planes of existence plus the New Amazing Characters and Family, Future Friends and Foes like what else do you need from a Story that it’s all Packed full with Non stop action and a Little Bit of Smut in case you’re asking it won’t be thrown to your face you’ll expect it since the Author sets the Mood😋. So if you haven’t started this Masterpiece yet you’re missing a lot.

The title needs clarification.
When I say early reader, I literally mean it, I know the author from a discord server, and I was there when he made the first drafts of the novel, before it was even called Son of Hero king, I was his proofreader alongside several others, so yeah, read this review with "this guy is biased" in your mind.
But while biased, I'm Definitely not blinded, for those who don't know, this novel is a repost from a different platform, I read all chapters up to date, which is already nearing the 600 chapter count.
The story has it's fault, like any other, but there are many original ideas and the plot itself is great in its own way.
Let's go about plot, and no worries no spoilers.
The start is heavily misleading that it's about a golden spoon fed protagonist, who's royalty that's getting sweaty with many maids, fast forward later, plot involving gods and terrorist, curses, and family trouble, betrayal, and protagonist own power growth struggles and his standing in his own kingdom and the world as the sole heir to the throne of his kingdom.
What I ask for most new reader is to be patient and read the story, the sexual contents are rare and few between, as I said, now nearing the 600 chapters count, the ratio of smutty chapters are like 7%.
"Is the story action oriented?" somewhat
"Is the story a harem story?" Yes
"Is the MC overpowered?" For his power level, yes, on broader scale, nah, his own aunt can and grandmother can spank him and he won't even be able to resist them.
"Are his harem/lovers toxic?" well, harem means drama, but thank the gods the author didn't create any toxic( I hate tsundare) lovers here, and they are at least try to be reasonable with one another regardless of their likes and dislike.
"Does the story have politics?" Yes, on a smaller level.
"Is the MC a brute, or does he have a brain?" He's actually both, on few instances, dude disregards all techniques, finesse manners and embraces his inner dragon(barbarian) but more often t

Just finished book 1. A bit smutty in the beginning for my taste but then it got really good for the second half. Will start book 2 soon. I hope it maintains a good balance of smut, slice of life, politics, and action. The writing for the characters is pretty fun. Though it does feel a bit female dominated. I hope MC gets a bro in the future. I'm giving this 5 stars since I really enjoyed reading it. I basically binged book 1 in two days.

Smut, while definitely not the characteristic which drew some of us in, is not the sole reason for my belief that this is such an incredible story. The use of mythology in this story is mind blowing, the deities used, and their stories, are interwoven with the characters which make use of their name in the story. An incredible power system is contained inside the story, allowing for an immense power growth later on. The character growth is beautiful, with the main character evolving into the monarch he was destined to be being just one example of the change the author is to show in the characters. And yet the Smut is still nothing to scoff at, although certain aspects and scenes may not be suiting everyone’s taste buds. The emotional parts of some of the later scenes wrap the connectedness of the characters up into a nice bow.
