Description

Fate demands sacrifice. He offers defiance. Fifteen years after Earth was forced into the Sarlenac Games, over half of the population is gone. Culled by the System without mercy. Each year, thousands of Gates open to hostile worlds. If they aren't cleared in time, ten percent of Earth’s population is killed. The System does not tolerate failure. Specialist Jimmy Novak is a low-level combat medic. Assigned the most basic healer class, with nothing to his name but scars, sarcasm, and a refusal to quit. When a routine Gate spirals into catastrophe, Jimmy makes a choice the System never accounted for. He’s seen by somethingolderthan the System. Somethingforgotten. [Skill Activated: Respec on Death]Class Reassigned. Attributes Redistributed. Fate Rewritten. With each death, Jimmy changes, new class, new build, new tools for survival. But the cost is steep, and the enemy is no longer just monsters or Gates. The System is watching. The gods are stirring. And Jimmy Novak, once just a medic, is becoming something far more dangerous. In defiance of fate, one shall rise. The seventh of six. The cosmos shall tremble at their ascension. The path has been laid. Recently I was trying to abstain from stories with number influenced systems and simply systems. But the way this story is written, the MC, the system itself, deities, the amalgamation of its all is pretty good so far. Started reading a few days ago and caught up in chapters. Hoping the story won't change my opinion of itself in the future

Interesting premise. Good beginning. Manages to portray military conversation and attitude fairly accurately. No over the top cringey badass stereotypes. I enjoy the way the world is described. Not over the top but not barebones either. I’m looking forward to more chapters and will definitely continue to read as they come out.

So far the author has done a great job : the main character is likable, the universe is coherent, the system is credible. I often have trouble with suspension of disbelief but with this level of writing skill, I can just immerge in the story and enjoy.I love the fact that there is a coherent armed response from earth, based on the military. The military is actually relevant and competent. It is among the 5 stories I read as soon as they are released.

A great read to this point. Takes the usual isekai portal fantasy, cuts out the isekai, and adds in the best parts of LitRPG. Military themes and lingo are accurate and used properly, which as a retired SFC (USA) I really appreciate. Also the concept of two systems competing over a single character is well executed, too. Grammar is good enough, with only small errors in a few places, and the formatting makes it clear who's speaking at any given moment, something that is not easy when using LitRPG systems.

Mortal tossed into weird situation uses coconuts and sand to kill god
    Or something like that.
Gods vs mortals. Mortal finds a way. A good take on an old trope. Yhoroughly enjoyed it. Not too long either.  Review title says it all. Dont expect snythjng particularly high brow but uts fun and simple with a nice twist ending.
Book 1 was good. Looking forward to book 2.

This is a great book!!! I love the characters, they're fun. The dialog can get a little aggressive for me with the nicknames/cursing but that's just a personal preference on my part. It's engaging and fresh. On the same token, it has fun litRPG aspects without relying on them as a crutch. In addition, the action in frequent and unforced. On the other hand, it very clearly has an expansive world without slamming that fact down your throat. Something I'm very excited to learn more about. Matter of fact, I wasn't bored for a single second of reading!
Moving on, the main character is an understandable person who makes choices that align witj what we're seen so far. Also, he seems to be generally nice and empathetic. A nice change from the recent spam of anti-hero kill anyone who stands against me norm that's been developing. Overall, I would recommend this to all who like litRPG stories. I'm excited to see the characters grow and learn along with their powers.
My only real gripe is that we're only at chapter 18 so please please please!!! If you read it and really enjoy it, leave a review. I'm lazy rarely leave reviews but this story is worth helping grow!!!

A world of portals and skills, overseen by a System designed, watched and manipulated by Gods and Goddesses for their own gain.
Re-Spec on Death is a story about a healer in a military unit getting killed and all the benefits that follow.
Enjoyed the read, can't wait for the next book to find out how things set in motion are resolved.
