Description

One thousand years ago, the Eldrich Host appeared. Humanity has been battling for survival ever since. Over this time, human governments have come and gone, but the fight with the Host never ends.

In the year 3106, Alister "Mac" MacArthur is introduced to this truth in the harshest of ways. Everything he knew and loved was taken from him in the blink of an eye. Yet, in this tragedy, he was introduced to a universe he never even knew existed.

Join Mac as he grows from a child into an adult in a harsh cosmos filled with a mix of magic and science. He will battle terrifying monsters, learn from unexpected mentors, discover unknown family, be targeted by mysterious enemies, and find passionate lovers.

Updates will come M, W, F until I catch up on content, then it will slow down.

This story includes substantial violence, swearing, gore, and consensual adult activities and is not intended for children.

*** The cover is a work-in-progress and will definitely change any number of times ***

His characterisation is interesting - how he thinks, acts and feels is believable for an 8 year old and im looking forward to finding out how he matures as a person and his skills  what he will be motivated by and future relationships.
The set up is intriguing and leaves lots of questions to be answered regarding why the original settlers wanted to escape the rest of humanity.
At point of review other characters are just starting to be introduced alongside Mac, ad he is now isolated from everyone who was important to him in his life on his home planet/moon.  Will be great to see how those characters develop and how they interact with Mac, teach him about life in the Confederacy and how he makes up his own mind about what the 'Feddy's' are really like - whether he wants to return to his more primitive sheltered lifestyle or if he embraces the tech and living in space.
Read this if you enjoy sci-fi and or litrpg - I enjoy both and can't wait to see how Freed weaves them together.
Thanks Freed for another great story (found this through Jade Phoenix which is one of my favourites.)
