Cruising through the Apocalypse

Description

Zael Ysbrand is the Captain of a cruise ship. Then, the system arrives and he and his passengers are stranded on their transatlantic journey.

In his free time, Zael often reads fantasy books, including the occasional litRPG. In these stories, the main character is always on land, and the seas are described as incredibly dangerous territory, where the creatures of the depths rule. When, instead of reading about it, he himself is thrown into a system apocalypse however, he and his roughly 8000 passengers and crew members are stuck on those seas. Luckily, their risky location does not come without System reward.

As the ultimate authority on board, Zael will have to deal with a collapse of civilization as we know it. He must work hard to ensure the safety, and the growth, of everyone under his command. Meanwhile, mutinies seem to be back in fashion.

I came up with this concept after seeing a Royal Road ad and thinking it was about a story like this. I got excited and clicked on the ad, but it turned out to be about something entirely different. So, I decided to write about it myself!

The basics of the power system and character development have been decided, though some things will probably change as the story develops. This is the first time I’m writinganythingfiction, so I hope you’ll all stick with me. All constructive criticism and advice are welcome, though I reserve the right to ignore it.                   ;D

Before writing this story, I’ve googled and read a lot about cruise ships. BUT I have never been on a cruise myself and I’m certainly not a captain, so if you do have experience with either and notice something wrong, please let me know in the comments!
