Reincarnating as the Heroine in an Otome Game

Description

After dying in a housefire, I suddenly found myself as the protagonist of an Otome game. There's no way I could fulfill the role of a main character so let me just blend into the background. What do you mean the villainess already has her eyes on me, I didn't even interact with the capture targets at all. Why is she singling me out? Wait, this doesn't really feel like bullying to me though...? Updates every Tuesday

Though I would normally prefer to wait until a story has at least thirty or so chapters before I leave a review, this little gem was just too good to wait.
Overall, it seems to be a somewhat standard Yuri otome transmigration so far. The MC woke up as the heroine and, for once, didn’t decide to carry on her harem-y destiny (I’m looking at you, Isekai’d Shoggoth). Even if it’s only sitting at 12 chapters as of when I write this, I don’t have anything bad to say overall about the characters, world building or general writing quality.

Story: Not too much to say specifically. The MC is transmigrated as the heroine of an otome game that she doesn’t seem to have played too much, so it’s not like she knows literally everything. Having decided to mostly try to keep to herself, she heads off to the academy where, rather than the villainess that she expected, the evil noble heiress seems… unexpectedly nice?
There’s nothing super revolutionary done with the tropes but, on the other hand, everything is done rather well and there’s no obvious flaws. Tropes are tropes for a reason and I rather enjoyed the awkward disaster lesbian fumbling that’s ensued so far.

Characters: While it’s a bit too early to say for most of them, the few reoccurring characters (primarily the MC Heroine and Villainess) seem well rounded so far. The MC is a bit of a doormat and has an annoying level of self-doubt and anxiety going on but even after only ten chapters it’s been getting much better. I suspect she’ll likely have a relapse or three but hopefully Seraphina will draw her out of her shell soon enough. Chapter 11 was damn adorable and massive progress in that regard.
    Sera, on the other hand,

Both girls are cute. Now I finally realise why the bystander who absolutely doesn't want to interfere trope exists in yuri series now.
The story progression is slow, and the series focuses on character interaction, mainly between the two leads.
It's a dual POV story, but the swaps are mostly confined in a per chapter basis, so it's not jarring, but feels well controlled instead.
The prose is snappy and reads similar to typical Japanese light/webnovel, with narration interspersed with character thoughts and emotions. Characters feel distinct enough that even in a rapid fire conversation without he said she said, it's easy to follow who is speaking at anytime.
