Reborn in a Magical World as a Crow is a book about a brave and principled young EMT who dies on Earth and gets isekaied into a fantasy world as a crow. This might sound a bit strange, until you remember that crows are flipping cool.
Unlike other books where the main character loses their memory, Drew retains all his skills and abilities. Top of the class at Police Academy and also a trained EMT, Drew brings a wealth of skills and experience to his new feathery life. This is a highly trained, motivated young guy, flapping around in a fantasy world, trying to do epic quests with his beak.
The book doesn’t skip over any of the grisly details. We follow Drew through the political shenanigans of the isekai process, soul reassignment, breaking out of an egg, eating bugs and regurgitated food from momma crow, gathering shiny objects, etc. As the sole sentient member of his species, Drew initially follows bird quests but quickly levels up to human quests, becoming a valued member of his junior adventuring team. This is a zero-to-hero journey. Drew starts out blind and helpless and levels up from there.
As a bird, Drew suffers from some serious disadvantages. He cannot initially read or understand human speech. He cannot speak, at least to start with. He is extremely fragile and suffers from frequent broken bones, which he heals using his magic. Everyone underestimates him, but underneath, he has the logical problem-solving intelligence of a human. He has a strong sense of morality. This is a lawful good character in the body of a corpse-eating gallows bird.
Stats abound in this book. Our hero is presented with quests constantly which result in satisfying gains. Initial levelling is fast. Our hero has to be sneaky to navigate the adventurer’s guild, and sneak he does, reading books to level up, foiling crimes and plots, and making friends along the way.
Style and grammar: The piece uses third-person past tense with frequent italicised internal monologue, which works nicely.

A different type of plot from the "isekai/reincarnated in another world" book, really liking the writing style and plot, I like the slow pace of the mc, making it real that he takes time to learn and get better at different abilities and skills and not getting overpowered or over leveled in a broken way.
I can see a lot of potential in this book that is being used in a great way the only, the only negative I have to say is that there aren't enough chapter's to read yet, I want to read more!

The grammar needs work and the numbering of different sections of the chapter is different, but I got to say, it has potential! This author is shown to have a semi-unique perspective on storytelling and has the potential to create a really great story. With a little proofreading and structural changes, I woundn't be surprised if this author grew to become aone of the most popular on Royal Road!

The story is interesting. I like how you point out that, despite being a human in his previous life and possessing several skills that are uncommon for a Skurr, Drew is average in terms of combat prowess.
The story also shows how something sounds strong but actually not that strong in practical (Drew assassin skill). Although, that is probably it's still on low level.
Another thing that I found interesting is the approach to the usage of a wand in magic. It's not your typical Harry Potter style that most stories use but more like a gun with bullets.
If I have to pick the cons, it’s probably the fact that Drew still has this "hero" setup. It’s shown in the story that Drew is this typical "hero-coded" character, hard-headed about right and wrong based mostly on his own judgment. The issue is especially apparent when Drew tries to justify his actions using Earth’s terms, even though the world he is currently in is different and has its own common sense. It's a weird trait to have for an intelligent person since this will be seen as an adaptability issue.
Nonetheless, I hope he learns the common sense of the current world he is in and tries to compromise without losing his integrity.
Can't wait to see him finally get his racial upgrade!

Four stars would be a bit harsh, but this is definitely not  5 stars yet.
It is a story about overcoming the odds.
The main conflict here is mildly amusing. A lawful good character yearns to be a hero, do some world saving noble deeds, and improve the backward medieval society. That person ends up being reborn as a bird species akin to our crows. Everyone knows they are bearers of bad omens, and many are superstitious towards them. So he must constantly fend off puzzled bumpkins and shady undesirables, including his own kind. The protagonist is interesting enough, but he lacks a clear direction. Furthermore, if he ends up in the way suggested in the prologue, he might have already given up his goals in exchange for minor conveniences. The LitRPG side suggests he wants to become a jack of all trades. I am looking forward to where the story will go. It is one of the rare cases in which I have full confidence that this will not turn into a harem or worse.

This is a living breathing world that just happens to have an isekai'd crow in it. That's the best thing about this story, the characters feel real (even if they're pretty close to cliched archetypes and not often very deep). And the world definitely feels like it has existed long before the MC spawned, and has its own quirks and complexities. It doesn't feel like a story created for the gimmick of being isekai'd as a crow.
The earlier chapters are pretty rough though. The current chapters of the book deserve 4.5* , but it feels like the book has found its narrative style only in the last ten or so chapters. Before that, it often felt like I was reading a children's story, with simplistic dialogue and reactions. In fact, I genuinely believed that was what the author was going for, aiming the story at children and early-YA audience, until
there was an on screen death of a named character
    which made that assumption unlikely.
The story itself is pretty interesting and unpredictable, taking twists and turns and yet without feeling arbitrary.
Overall, definitely worth a read if the current quality continues, just be ready for the style and quality of narration to jump around a bit, before it settles down at a good place.

Loved the start *through chapter 22.
quality mix of human and animal instincts so far. Hope the animal instincts continue to crop up to influence(and maybe cause problems) on the MC’s journey.
Not sure the intro glimpse into the future is necessary, but if ya keep it, maybe you could periodically or just rarely include more interludes into the future/present of the MCs new life.

    It's not a bad story.
The MC is pretty likeable and I loved the idea of a Crow MC.
Honestly, my main issue is that the current arc feels really unsatisfying. It feels like we're going nowhere. He hasn't evolved in so long and it's not like he gained particularly relevant or unique skills. From time to time we get a few lines of level ups and that's it.
I feel bad in saying it, because there are scenes I really liked, but it's starting to get a tad boring. I understand that
The Hero Quest and the Goblin attack of the Fortress
Should be a climactic moment, the opportunity to show how much he has grown and to take the first step towards his Fate, but ... I am having issues caring.
It's mostly the supporting cast's fault, but I get that some of them were willingly made to be unlikable. There is, however, also the fact that I can't really say that these are the fights where the Author shines.
I really enjoyed the fight at the goblin settlement near the village and the escape from the swarm, not to speak of the Mana Tower *chef's kiss*. The author is really good in writing smart fights.
The last few chapters have, however, felt like reading a party farming in a MMORPG, just killing goblins again and again and again while a supporting character whines and another bickers.
I have put this story in "Read Later" because I feel like it has a lot of potential. I will come back when there's a bit more backlog to skim through.
I can't wait for Drew to get a bit more assertive and competent, like he was in the prologue.

Sorry, but it's ridiculous, the guy is a kind of crow with a conscience, the entry into the adventurers guild is absurd, he has to be restricting the characteristics of his species, at least in the beginning, the protagonist's approach in the story has to be different because of his species, which by the way, I saw few reasons for this choice, since there was no real use of points that justified this choice in the story, the initial ideas are good, but poorly executed.
