Description
Can All Sins Be Forgiven?
After a horrific encounter with the supernatural Maxwell wakes up in a very lavish bed. Turns out he was reborn as the next in line for the head of an aristocratic family and luxury is all that seemingly awaits him. His siblings have other plans for him and his safety in the household is threatened. With his luck running out does he have the strength to claw his way up and out of the filth he finds himself sinking deeper into or will he freeze inside and out before sinking into the depths of despair?
Maxwell never fit in at school. He thought he was used to moving around since his father’s job made him constantly change schools but that did nothing to prepare him for the drastic, turbulent change of being transmigrated into a fantasy world of swords and sorcery.

- Apollo149Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Re:Freeze has a great start that grabs your attention right away, especially with its intriguing question: Do cowards deserve salvation? Maxwell, the main character, stands out as a cowardly but ambitious boy who’s thrown into a strange and dangerous new world. His struggle between wanting to achieve great things and being held back by his fear makes him relatable and sets up an interesting journey of growth.
The aristocratic setting is another strong point. While Maxwell finds himself surrounded by luxury, the constant danger posed by his siblings keeps the stakes high. This mix of privilege and peril creates lots of potential for drama and conflict, both within Maxwell and between him and the people around him.
Maxwell’s encounter with the supernatural, leading to his rebirth in this new world, feels like a clever way to kickstart his transformation. It’s like a wake-up call—he’ll need to overcome his fears if he wants to survive. Watching him rise to this challenge and seeing how he changes over time promises to be an exciting part of the story.
The grammar is pretty solid, and the writing overall shows potential for some great emotional moments, action, and world-building. Maxwell’s journey from being someone who freezes in fear to someone who can face the cold—both figuratively and literally—is shaping up to be a compelling story arc.
Overall, Re:Freeze blends familiar isekai elements with fresh ideas that make it stand out. I’m looking forward to seeing how the story dives into its moral question while exploring its world and characters. This is a strong beginning, and I can’t wait to see what happens next! - CIGAPRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is an isekai that doesn’t necessarily follow the traditions of the usual main character. It feels fresh and smooth, making for quite the interesting setup.
style: the writing is comprehensible and easy to follow. There are a couple of writing and grammar errors here and there, and the sentence flow and dialogue can feel a little stiff and awkward at times. However, the pacing, tension, and blend of information, dialogue and exposition is well done. A quick edit session could easily bring the style up to a 4.5.
story: we get to see a good bit of action as well as other characters before the MC’s death. This immediately feels like it sets it apart from other stories, as it’s not just some random person who gets hit by a truck and dies. You become intrigued by what’s going on and mysteries are left unanswered, with the new world hopefully answering some questions.
characters: the side characters feel unique, fresh and alive, and seem to have purpose other than just doing one task and leaving. The MC himself isn’t an overpowered Gary Stu nor is he a shrivelling, doubting coward but something in between, and he seems to understand that. Definitely an interesting fellow to follow.
grammar: as mentioned before, a couple of errors here and there but nothing overly noticeable.
overall, an interesting read! - BulbusRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0A promising start to a story. I like where you've started with Maxwell as a cowardly boy with big ambitions. Now that he's in this other world and working to improve himself, I'm curious to see what you do with him. I did have a question though, is Colin going to make a return? You went to a great deal to establish him, a shame if he's killed off so quickly
