Description

Decades ago, a fierce battle drenched the plains of Earlindon with blood in the fight against the last three dragons in the land. Leading the armies that opposed the mighty beasts was the head of the Caydranth house - one of the most powerful mages of the age. The dragons, sensing their inescapable demise, gave up their remaining strength to gift it to three mortal families, three lineages meant to carry it through generations in hope that the prophecy of Sariarin the Black Dragon will never come true.

Now, after long years of peace, the magic left behind by the Last Dragons begins to stir, sensing danger beginning to close around Earlindon like thickening mist. Danger that takes its origins centuries before the conflict with dragons even ignited... The young prince, soon to become an adult, begins to notice strange things happening around him. But why him, when his lineage was not among those chosen by the dragons...?

I got guilt tripped into this review by the latest chapter but my opinion is that this books greatest sin was that it wasnt released at a right time and poeple didnt notice it. I do feel bad that it ends with such a small fizzle and I do hope it will get a second life at some point. I think some minor adjustments and a republish could work wonders.
The style is pretty good, I would personally prefer the feeling of the work to be a bit more grand especially around the dragons and bit more macro world building would have been nice.
The grammar is solid, I only found some minor strange sentence structures that might just be my unfamiliarity with english.
The story feels a bit choppy at places, sometihngs doesnt feel that anchored into the work as i I would prefer but otherwise it is a well structired work with no real issues that should turn off many poeple.
The characters are more or less the same as the story, overall good but showing the inexperience of the author and the firstness of this work. They are good, not great but solid good. I would personally wish a bit less rash decisions and fast, sudden emotional turmoil.
For my personal taste, I would have liked a bit more draconic features on our heroes than just wings and firemagic.
-I hope to see you again in the recommendations Yasenka
