Planet-Eater Reincarnation (in Star Wars)

Description

He wakes up without being able to see, taste or hear. Or even smell! But, after developing an eye for himself, he's able to recognize two facts: one, he is no longer human, and two, he's not on Earth anymore. He's in the middle of an asteroid field, stuck on a moderately large one with nothing around him but endless space. Heck, he's not even in the solar system!

And now it's up to him to grow larger and stronger in order to avoid being eaten. Going by the leviathan-sized creatures swimming about the asteroid field, he has a long way to go before he can so much astryto live calmly.

----

Don't let the fanfiction tag scare you off. This only barely takes place in that universe since I like the basics of the lore and nothing more. It will barely feature a single prominent character, and the focus will mostly just be on the main character trying to grow himself out of danger, in the meantime denying the very idea that he could possibly be lonely.

The first few dozen chapters will entirely focus on him growing from almost a gnat all the way to a real asteroid-eater. After that, an actual story will appear.

Got the idea when I was reading the 2017 Darth Vader comic and my mind suddenly flashed back to that scene in the original trilogy when they're in some asteroid field and almost get eaten by a big monster. I loved that scene, and my inhibitions will no longer chain me. Enjoy, but don't take this too seriously.

first of all, it is not a drop dead serious narration. There will be flavor, there will be jokes. The 4th wall shakes a bit here and there.
The story itself is good, monster MC is a dying trend so good times.
Only little thing, story is naturally dry currently (it's that meteor rain, killer on the skin). But it was better managed in the 15-25 chapter range imo.
A bit lonely out there in space without you favorite space pet / snack.
    Very interesting read.

A well written, slow paced, light hearted story following the adventure of the most adorable reincarnated eldritch horror you ever did meet.
Only tangentially touching on Star Wars so far, the protagonist is a bit of a paradox between terrifying everything-eating octopus and genuinely likeable doofus who pets fluffy not-cows and cartwheels. Either way, it's genuinely fun to follow him around which is rare to see in monster-type stories.
Writing is generally extremely solid, the blue boxes are everywhere but handled with a very light touch; they're quick and easy to work with and don't detract from general pacing.
Pacing is slow. I'm, what, 34 chapters in and were just about to meet our first actually sapient side character. But also this has given time to get invested in stuff. It's not for everyone, but if you're not in a rush then this is a lovely chill story!
Also, author has included several sketches and small images in the later chapters and the style is adorable.
This story is certainly not for everyone, but for those who are interested in a relaxed, slow paced romp to unwind with at 3AM when insomnia hits, this has served me well. Gold star and I'm off to sleep.

I like the Author and his works.
I love the idea for this story. Concept is unconventional and light.
I strongly support only tangential connection of the story to Star Wars Universe.
I hope the story will be long, regularly updated and written with similar high standards as other works of Palt.
    Cheers

This is a re release of my review. It was removed for "sexist remarks", which just goes to show how the mods are power tripping, as my comment about "the mc not being able to get romance due to his looks" was a reference to him being a tentacle eldricht creature. Another reason why i'm guessing the mods are power tripping and removed a bunch of my reviews is cause I made fun of them in an another review for asking me to write reviews the length of essays. Now away from the daddy issue having hoes onto the main subject.

    Ch 25
He has just reached a (Jedi?) temple on his first visited (crashlanded on) planet. Not enough story to judge it really.
I'm quite curious about the time period in that universe. It feels satisfying enough to read and I do search for the next chapter button. Grammar seems to have no problems, romance is impossible with his looks, which is a good thing for me. MC's quite calm usually as he can't feel pain. I think this is my first review on RR and as a guy who likes stuff explained nice, simple and fast, I don't appreciate the 200 word requirement. I don't really know what falls into it's category, but as I found no problems that I could relate to the word style, it is probably fine.
A couple more curiosities: how is he going to interract with other characters? Will he find a way to actually become smaller, or just use the same tactic as with the temple? How's he gonna leave the planet? Advanced reviews on RR are a no go. I'm not a girl, my mom or my language teacher, I'm not good enough at blabbering about useless stuff to leave advanced reviews.

The story's concept isn't new but along with the premise and a new monster type the story feels p. fresh.
I love the style elsp the thoughts the story  feels homely to read, and the descriptions n all are so seamlessly done. Style is amazin imo.
I like the mc, he's reads like a chill guy, awkward at times but p fun to read.
Characters are pretty realistic. Realistic motivations and decision making.
    Spoilers ahead
When mc got big enough to eat asteroids i got some existential horror (tho that might be just cos i've read too much cultivation novels)
The A Ns' were a delight to read, i've just finished binging the fic and i feel like i know the author somewhat ( sorry for this parasocial relationship author it'll prpb wear off in a bit). Tbh i'm pretty jealous & admiring of author's writing capabilities.
    The drawings are really cool.

Okay, it's a fun story about a monster/giant space alien. So far the story hasn't done any of the cringe things fanfictions tend to do and all in all, has been a very unique and very enjoyable story. All ask is that you give it a go.
Also, bring back the pet bug I miss him very very much :(

Good story, enjoyed it a lot. At least until the main character made contact with his first human.
    Chapter 31-33
Grammar: could maybe improve in some ways, but any mistakes were barely noticeable to me.
Style: Good, I had no problems with it.
Character: I enjoyed the main character a lot. In the first couple chapters, until he made the first contact with intelligent life, the novel didn't contain any other character but the main character. And he interested me enough to continue reading. The problem I have with this story comes forth later. And is a slightly big spoiler so I don't suggest reading it for anyone that plans to read this novel. It is mentioned in the review title
At first, I had no problem with who it was that the main character first came in contact with. The Empire.
The main character was a human mind that had been isolated in the vastness of space totally alone and isolated from any form of companionship for an unknown amount of time. So I understand completely why he chose to stick around and listen to the human that he saved. It is even mentioned that there was no one else to trust anyway, so he trusted in the human. Problem is that we as the readers know who the empire is, we can see how the main character is being manipulated, especially when he is assigned a low rank in the empire. He is basically a massive creature, why is he following around puny humans, that use evil/extreme words such as exterminate.
To be honest, I wouldn't see the character's naivety as a problem, I actually enjoy it. But I'm currently at chapter 51. And from my perspective, there is a 50-50% chance that the story will either for the next 50(a lot) chapters show us our kind, friendly, and lovable main character being treated like a doormat, while we as readers can just watch him lower himself before others that don´t deserve it. Or the story can take a massive turn from what it has currently become in the last 18 chapters, and in 3-6 chapters something happens that shows u

I started to read this this Friday and I couldn't stop. I got more and more intrigued were u would go with the story and while slow paced. It really made us grow with the characters u introduced. U can really feel that Mort just wants to be able to interact with other people. I have 2 things that I want to bring up tho. The pacing is somewhat slow. And while that makes it so the chatacter debelopment is quite good. There is a feeling of a lack of progression in the story. That doesnt mean that the characters stay still but it makes the pacing from the first chapters untill Mort meets intelligent characters go from quite fast 2 quite slow.
The other thing that i wanted to bring up is something that keept bothering me. Mort somewhat disregarded the 2 original social interactions he had. And the consequences he brought them. What happend to the original bug? And what will happen to our pack of cows if the empire comes?
Anyways, i really enjoyed the story and i hope u continue this interesting idea. Now i will be looking at what other interesting stories u have written ^^
Hope this isnt to bad of a review as it is the first one i have done. Your story made my weekend a little brighter and I hope I can see were it goes in the future. 😀

I quite enjoy the style of this story, the story is smoothe and feels like it is alive and growing. People don't fawn over Mort and he isn't immediately the best at everything he does. This man has flaws and the world is quite well thought out.
for the story I have to say that the world building is really well done and it feels like mort is part of a changing universe despite how relatively early we are in the story. The only drawback is Mort's direction. I feel like the earlier story had setup for a tragic backstory or a downward spiral caused by an uncaring, and sometimes malevolent universe.
The grammar is good and doesn't detract from the story in any way.
as stated in the story section I love the heck out of mort but I feel like he could have had different character growth. Early in the story we know that he was a student and that's about it. He is kind and a bit naïve but we saw a small part where he wanted to surpasse the other planet eater.
over all I love the heck out of the story and think that there is a lot of potential for mort.
thank you dear author and may people not FLIPPING ASK FOR FEMBOY art of Mort.
    good day.
