It's a good story second chance story but with a new power mechanic that focus on brain unlocking. If you want to know more about this watch the movie Lucy. Or search Google.
There maybe some scenes where it will cause discomfort but hey, war is fought with blood. Battles were given a lot of thought which are good.
character development is ..."forceful"... for the sakes of the story....the MC forced his friends to be a killing machine to save them and the world. Now this is a plot for the story, a good one at that so I wish no one will throw rocks at this.
That's all. I wish we will see a real Overcomer in the future Mr.Author. - wertfer123Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5Characters is kinda missing something, grammar average it's hard to read sometimes. That all, good story 1st time reading this kind TY..............................................
- SlimeActionRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0For starter, it's "given 2nd chance" character who not all gloom and doom. Yes still all action and trying to keep timeline while read all advantage while we can. But he's doing it as a showman. Think of it as DMC new game +
Does the reason for power and other thing bit unbeliveable ? yes. Does it still fun to read ? heck yes. - KaellomRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Cool story bro. I agree with previous reviews that the pacing of the story is too quick, slow down a bit... It needs a bit more character developement. There are also quite a few grammatic errors in there.
However! The complaints of the powers being based off the 10% brain theory pseudo science are what I disagree with! That person obviously didn't read the story properly. I personally thought the power system in your story was very interesting.
P.S. It is true though that your story needs a thorough proofreading. - Phillip MeyeringRoyal Road★★★ 2.5The story is riddled with loose ends and the MC is absent halfway through, and with him goes the stories focus. Author I have read many books. Your characters growth and progress confuse me. I can feel that there could be a decent story in your original work. As is though it is uncomfortably twisted and frayed. I can't continue reading your peice.
- KadarkRoyal Road★★ 2.0The pacing is subpar. Introduction (and exposition) is too long and the story fail to accelerate.
Personally, I don’t care if a fic’s power system is based on some random mumbo jumbo, but the one used in this one just give me nausea while reading it. Long paragraphs full of pseudo science and - worst offendant! - the basis of their superhuman capabilities is ‘humans only use 10% of their brains!’. A sentence you may have heard in a family gathering from someone with an utter lack of understanding of what it really entails.
Combined with the regular occurence of grammatical errors, I’m giving it a 2/5 - ollonerRoyal Road★★ 1.5In the first chapters you wrote that you liked Tales of Demons and Gods: i now understand why reading this novel is becoming so painful.
It greatly resembles that CN in all its bad points, also typical of just about any reincarnation-themed Xianxia.
The MC is the usual anti-hero showoff that takes great enjoyment in pwning past adversaries and awing his friends using his new skills and future knowledge: fun in the beginning, but gets boring fast after the n-th time it happens.
Just like in TDG, the MC, who was quite average amongst the upper level experts in his past life, will instead become the super-top-tier in this timeline.
His memories are an infinite source of deus-ex-machinas: do you need to solve a problem? Well i just happen to remember something to solve it. Doesn't matter if a soldier has little to no connection with syndicates/mafias/the underworld: he will be a walking encyclopedia for all intents and purposes for as long as it's needed.
His personality is all over the place: he should have the memories of a great war and the implicit maturity of a soldier, but apart from a few recollections, he behaves like a smug little shit. Granted, there's that "fusion between selves" going on, but his mature side is non-existent. The result is a edgy teen that has no qualms about killing.
The cultivation is completely unbalanced. There's much talk about how difficult it is to reach "unlocked" state, about how few humans can reach that and many of them only with the aid of a super-serum. Then a delinquent, a doctor, two teens and the daughter of a mafia boss get "ninja-like movements" in a matter of weeks, with just a few days of training (consisting of normal gym and the MC shooting at them), thus skipping all the mentioned necessary steps, because fuck coherence.
The MC deeds are greatly exaggerated: he manages to beat a record for finishing "the most difficult game ever" (yeah right) in half the minimum time theoretically needed. Leaving aside how it's only pos - GeorgBRoyal Road★★ 1.5Character is weird stuff, they have no consistent trait(MC is ex-military officer who clearly does not act like one and feel like disposable pawn rather than an officer). power system is weird and add too many new name with blurred difference and too many exception and the fact that special skill exist and everybody magically know the clearly geeky name. pacing can be slower to give character more depth. the story show that the MC is completly incapable, considering all his choice is clearly detrimental to his plan.
Story is Weird and incompatible with MC "supposed" traits. too many Character, and they all lack depth. World/power setting lack depth and in complete disarray.
