Description
Rayne was a bastard, the only son of the fallen Duke Frayser, and cast aside to die in the army that hated him for being alive. Until a soul from Earth took over his body. With the common class of a [Soldier], a Lineage Quest to complete and a unique trait, he would have to get strong to survive the gritty lands of his new world. Having nothing but determination and a survival instinct, he would move to fight against goblins, trolls, necromancers while earning reputation and prestige in a kingdom that had branded his line as traitors. What to expect - 1. Competent main character. 2. Skill stealer main character with limited slots. 3. Epic battles. 4. Numbers go up. 5. Army progression. 6. Kingdom building in later volumes. What not to expect - 1. Harem. 2. A bad novel. *** Note - This is a solo novel account of Extra26 who writes Magus Reborn and Dao of Money. Release schedule - 3/4 chapters a week.

- War and PizzaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you wish to read a military-progression story with monsters and satisfying progression, you will enjoy this.
There is (at present) a small cast of side characters, some of whom have begun to have their backgrounds fleshed out along with intrigue as to their history. I can see these characters potentially being ‘pulled along’ by the MC as he becomes more powerful, or perhaps the author will be ruthless and kill them off at opportune moments - we shall see.
The system is currently fairly meat-and-potatoes, which doesn’t bother me at all but might deter those who have binged hundreds of LitRPGs.
Some grammatical / linguistic errors throughout, but nothing to get ya knickers in a knot over.
Thank you for the story :) - Bedivere the MadRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Disclaimer: I have been a beta reader for this story for a while now
Proclaimer: I usually don't read 57 chapters of a beta read, so it kept my attention.
I like stories where the characters are destroying mountains with a single punch, or traveling a thousand miles in a single step, but sometimes, I just want a story where the main character is a guy with a sword, and this is that. That's not to say there's no LitRPG or progression, because there is definitely plenty of that. However, at least in this first book, the powers are much more grounded, and for the most part, the main character is just a guy with a sword trying to survive a war.
Style: The style is fairly standard. It's 3rd person past tense without any eccentricities, and it is subtle enough that you really don't notice it as you read.
Story: This is the novel's strongest point. The author is experienced, both as a reader and a writer, and you can really feel that as the story goes on. He's always building up to something, and he knows where the plot is heading. It's very cohesive and concise, with very little waste, and constant points of interest that keep you waiting for the next chapter.
Grammar: Standard. No issues major enough to dock points
Character: Perfect for what it is. They characters are all fleshed out enough to feel real and their actions make sense. The main character is relatable and admirable, and the side characters are likable and make you want to root for them.
Overall, it's just a solid story. It'll keep you reading and keep you invested. If you're in the mood for a more grounded story with real stakes and a well-thought-out plot, this is for you. - heretoreadplzRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A solid military focused isekai litrpg. The attribute and skill stealing gimmick is fun, not too overpowered, and allows for the pace to clip along nicely.I'm caught up to chapter 57 and the only negative -- though this likely isn't a negative for those who'll read it serialized, which includes myself going forward -- is the temporal transitions between chapters can jump many many hours. It makes sense from a stylistic and practical standpoint. Part of me, the one trained by "slow burn" taglines, wishes there were a bit more detail regarding the gear allotment or preparation before missions. But that's trivial and helps keep the tension, even when binging through the chapters, high.Good stuff.
- [email protected]Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great simple premise and the MC suffers on every level, magic sauce for a LitRPG. Writing is sharp and snappy with no cliffhangers. Looks like a bunch of advance chapters as well so it should release quickly.Words, words words gotta hit 50 words words words words words words words.
- IrjaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A nice isekai story.
Cons; His past doesnt really matter.
Pros; hes not OP. He got some advantage as isekaid guy. He rose through levels by battling monsters.
Theres minimal plot armor.
And while theres nobility, theres the army. Army discipline matter more than nobility. While theres powerplay between nobility, it doesnt have much effect in how the Army function. Thus, giving fighting chance for our MC.
Good story. - ThinkamancerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Five stars, no notes, great fun, absolutely binge worthy. I think I just may have found a new favourite.I just got here because I'm a fan of the author's other work, read it in one sitting, and all I can say is that I wish there were more chapters available already.
- KangaratRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have nothing but positive words for this story at this time. World building is solid, right off the bat. The system has its own flavor, and follows its own rules nicely. The MC is not an idiot, but definitely not a Chosen One. He's dealing with a rough hand as well as he can, and at this point there is only the slightest hint of a gleam of the light of hope for him moving up the ladder where he finds himself below the bottom rung to start. Author has me invested in the story, and writes battle scenes I don't skim. Kudos, this one is very well done at this early stage!
- acrow54Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5There is quite a few stereotypes such as the hated op protagonist but in this case he is hated for a mostly understandable reason for the setting and his op skill is well reasoned for his background and not because he is reincarnated. Additionally the characters have personalities which can be seen as the perception of him changes based on his interactions with other characters to a more reasonable level as he helps out others. Some issues are few grammatical errors and unclear actions and flow in some fights. Additionally his op skill activates a bit more frequently then initially given but this is mostly to keep the story moving forwards rather than for plot armour as he rarely get the skills when most needed and has to instead think his way out of dire situationsThis makes this story a much better read then the initial blurb suggests and while the stereotypes are overt the reasons and history behind them have been hinted at and will quite possibly play a larger part in latter parts of the story. This story is a fresh take on some old stereotypes and while quite similar to other stories the well written story means the stereotypes improve the setting rather than taking away from it.
- Termi244Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5I was already following another work from the same author,Magus Reborn, and while this one is greatly different, I knew I would find quality in here!Until the latest chapter you will only really see the "Army Fantasy" (And Litrpg) part of the name, no monarch/ruling related stuff for now, but I guess that will be for later...Give it a try if you are interested in reading about an exiled and detested noble bastard making a name for himself in an army that wants him dead, growing his skills and stats in secret, finding friends and comrades, and (In the future) redeeming his name in the kingdom that named him a "forsaken"...
- l will devour all of youRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Aside from the odd grammatical errors, the story isamazing. Characters feel real, plot isengaging, monsters areterrific, fight scenes arewell-paced, and overall the story is anexcitingread. I binge-read this in about a day because Icouldn’t put it downand I have more than half a mind to read this author’s other stories if this is howwell-writtenthey will be.
