Description

I'm not happy with how this story is going, I don't think I planned it enough. I wasn't initially planning on worrying much about that, but I'm starting to really like the ideas I have to develop the magic system, so I think I'm gonna take some time to plan this thing out.

The System does two things. It recognises peoples achievements, and then rewards them for it. A simple system, that makes it simple for people to judge a persons worth. Because obviously, if someone has no achievements, then it must be because they're too worthless to get any, right?

Nathan isn't the only exception to this idea, but he is one of them. All his life he's tried as hard as he could to just do the same thing that comes so easily to everyone else, and all his life he has failed. Fortunately, he gets the opportunity to turn things around after turning 20, when he discovers is Inherent Skills, and joins the Adventurer's Guild.

As far as he can tell he won't be able to learn any new Skills, so he has to figure out how to work with what he's got. Achievements aren't the only ways to get Skills however, and there's more than one force out there to give people power.

Meritocracy is an Urban Fantasy LitRPG, where the main character has no concrete proof that he's good at anything, if you ignore the concrete proof that he's good at stuff. Fortunately, this won't matter as he meets like-minded people and nothing bad happens ever. (except for when bad stuff happens)

I've been following ths story since the first chapter, but now there's enough content for me to make a proper review of it.
    Style
The style is pretty good, I don't really have any particular critiques. Every now and again it feels a little odd, but that coul just be a quirk of the character leaking through, since it's in first person.
    Story
I'm a big fan of the way the story's gone so far. I won't go into enough detail to spoil it, but I'll just say that the way the system seems to be affected by shifts in the world is very interesting, and I'm excited to see where it goes.
    Grammar
The grammar is mostly fine, but I've noticed a few mistakes every now and again. Not enough to ruin the vibe of the story, but if it happens during an important moment that could be pretty annoying.
    Character
I don't have much to say here, I really like the main character. He's interesting and clearly driven to make the most of his ability. He's capable but not so much that he can easily deal with everything sent his way, just enough that he has to struggle a little.
I may have been slightly generous with the scores, but I would hate to stall a new story's growth and I would highly recommend reading it, so it seems appropriate.

Starts off with a known theme, and then shows you something fun.
Twist number one: everyone else has something the MC can't get, it's important & essential to have, and they shun and deride him for what he cannot have. But not much more than that.
Twist number two: you think the hidden ascendency is simple? Read a few chapters to find out!
